10:36 Interested in y'alls thoughts. I feel like since reid had decided to lock in B/W this draft and that is a life gain archetype I would have taken the dazzling angel over the vampire gourmand. Edit - nevermind it came back around lol
Yeah I thought the same as I watched the pick. A 2 drop that wants to sacrifice creatures while the deck has no fodder like shambling ghast, white the gain 1 life on creature entering has proven to be powerful in other formats
50:05 essence scatter is an uncommon in this set, so very unsurprising it is not rated as a top common :) Edit: should have waited 30 seconds, forgot it was streamed
Been a few years since a new release, but core set limited is a very vanilla format. Bloomburrow had a lot of tribes and specific two color combos that cards were meant to slot into. Unfortunate we had such a flexibile and creative limited environment with Duskmourn, then have it sandwiched by basic sets.
@@Makornakotj was pretty great and flexible, too. But my biggest complaint about that and dusk mourn was how impactful some of the rares were. Like to the point of it doidnt matter how the game went before you played the card. This set doesn’t really seem to have that problem when looking at the cards.
@@Makornak this "Core Set" only have like 2 Vanilla creatures 🤔 I played Today at My PreRelease, this set looks like "Tribal matter" kind, The Boots and Hexproof seen very Broken for me. I run 1-2 😅
"Double burst lightning in pack. Imagine opening that in sealed. You'd be pretty happy." 🥲 Well, I did. I had a heavy green based 4 colour deck with phenomenal fixing and ramp, a lot of removal spells, a good curve and lots of bombs, but still went 1-2. The only reason I "won" one match, is because we had an uneven amount of players and I got one free win without playing. I had llanowar elves, paradise druid, bushwack, 2 burnished hearts, goldvein pick-axe, solemn simulacrum and 3 dual lands for fixing. Bombs were alesha, who laughs at fate, high-society hunter, muldrotha and sylvan scavenging. Had 2 burst lightnings, abrade, bite down, a 3 mana deal 3 to all creatures boardwipe and a 4 mana bounce all opponents attacking creatures. The rest of the creatures where also quite good: apothecary stomper, the giant that spits out elves, nessian hornbeetle, the 2 mana thespian thespian 2 drop and some other good cards.
Excited. Also, it was cool to watch you win the round you were sitting next to Jim. Thanks for saying hello.
Looks fun to draft
Yeah it does!
Love the draft content. Thanks, Reid!
Format looks great!
What everyone is really wanting to know is how you get your hair to look that good all the time.
The first 68 seconds of this video spoke to my soul.
"I've got overrun. What are you gonna do n-"
'Tap 4, Aetherize?'
"..."
That draft timer did seem fast
I'm not very well versed in draft, I would have gotten stuck with random cards D:
Reid Let's Go!
That cat token is very uncanny looking, like Cats the movie or something. Will be happy to sacrifice it soon.
Double homunculi wheels is a sign from God to go blue black, omg
is this the only foundations early access draft on YT currently?
It looks like if you haven't drafted before, or have only drafted a few times, then this is the set to learn the strategies of drafting.
Passing the Authority Of Consuls with Elenda in the main was wild
After Duskmourn, a core set limited feels like eating sandpaper.
Sorry for not responding in kind to the gl, forgot to open up chat on the beta client 🤦♂
Didn't know Paul Rudd played MTG too
35 seconds for the first two picks is pretty rough
Joke: what does reid say when he is sick....
Well I guess i will take my medicine 😅
don't quit your day job
@Bikegod1 :)

Reid drafting GB?
I wonder if anybody who does not play MTG could understand first minute of this video.

This set looks very on rails possibly more than bloomburrow

the archetypes aren't super defined and there is a lot of flexibility

I’m a simple man. I see a Reid Duke video. I click on it
