- The Canadian built Airbus A220-300 is a winner and is going to quickly become the benchmark for narrow body aircraft. Passengers are going to love Air Canada's 19" wide seats in economy, the up to date Panasonic in flight entertainment system featuring 10" screens in economy and 13" in business class, on-board wifi, quieter operation, large overhead bins and longer range.

What a great plane! No wonder Boeing didn’t want to see it get off the ground. Thanks for that Brian!
While their 737 Max was going...down.
@@jossdionne9810 Yeah I don't feel one bit bad for Boeing. A perfect display of what happens when companies get too greedy with money. And Boeing tried to stretch their 737 to cover too many things. Now they've gotta make a smaller e175 sort of plane and also an A321/757 sort of plane if they want to survive.
Boeing got a one-way ticket to heaven instead
Boeing doesn't have a direct competitor...
ROV is registered after the current CEO of Air Canada, Calin Rovinescu
Good to see that the product of many challenging years of development with all of its costs is finally past the many hurdles. Congratulations to all those who have persevered to make a success of this amazing new addition to Air Canada's fleet.
Love the A220. Airlines have placed orders for over 500 of them now.
There really is nothing not to love about it. Hands down the best economy seat in town.
Too bad the A/C (aircraft) didn’t have the success the A/C currently has when the A/C was called the “Bombardier CSeries”.
I work for the Widget " Delta". The 220's we have are a dream. Can't wait until the -300 variant is delivered.
Only the beginning!
"A well thought out well-sorted Airplane" Me: NOT LIKE Boeing 737 MAX! GOOD JOB CANADA! You beat Boeing!
The MAX is about to start its re-certification flights. I don't care if it passes them with flying colors, I still won't get on one. I'm very happy my preferred airline, Delta, didn't order any. They did order the A220 though, so I hope I get to fly on one. It seems like such an incredible plane, designed from the ground up to be great for passengers, airlines, and flight crew alike. No wonder Boeing was so afraid of it.
As a canadian it makes me proud that these airplanes are getting the recognition they deserve.
AH! Not the first time. Ever hear of the Avro Arrow?
great gear from a great industry. it will bridge people, work, families and friends and be a tool for freedom and happiness. thank you all. we LOVE Airbus with our Canadian friends. THANK YOU!!
Really gorgeous interior.
Air Canada really has and put a nice taste for this.
Great review Brian as always! As for the meaning behind C-GROV, the registration was chosen to honour president and CEO Câlin Rovinescu for his leadership over the past decade at Air Canada during major expansions and turning in unprecedented profits!
Ding Ding Ding, You are correct sir!
Sort of reminded me of Government; I thought maybe it had something to do with all the taxpayer handouts Bombardier got to built this plane.
@@JohnnySemor And Boeing does not get handouts?
@@richardpluim4426 Boeing got a handout to build this plane? Are you sure Dick because I do not believe that is factually correct.

Remember the days when Boeing trying to kill this Canadian bird by placing 300% tariff on it? Too bad Bombardier didn't make it had to sell the design to airbus
@Inyalabudbud Punjabbidaliwad
This plane was built in the opposite of a saturated market, it was built to fill a gap that demanded planes that were STOL, bigger than a CRJ, smaller than an A320 and with good range. No other plane is able to fill it.

Great review as always. Yes can't wait to fly aboard. Love that you tagged the video with the presentation. Nice touch. Incredible video premiere.
Thanks DB. Yes the presentation was outstanding and needed to be shared. You’ll love this plane. No problem fitting your camera gear in the overheads either.
Wow!! I love the layout and colors Air Canada used in the cabin. So easy on the eyes. I also like the IFE. Yeah, bring your phone, but I like exploring a toy when it's put in front of me. It really helps the time fly by, no pun intended. Bombardier really made a sweet airplane here. Wish they could have continued, but Airbus got a darned nice airplane.
Not only is it sharp looking, but it's sexy as sexy gets!
Love these reviews! Original ideas brother..
Had the pleasure to ride one from Delta. The 220 is very comfy and silent. A real wonderful trip!
Great overview of the new plane. Glad Air Canada went with the plane and the 3+2 seat layout is interesting. My Wife and I will definitely appreciate the option of no middle seat when on longer flights.
Check back later today. I’ll have the first. Flight review up!
Got to fly this plane from Toronto to Montreal a few days ago, amazing aircraft. Unmatched level of comfort for that size of plane.
I haven’t flown it since the launch. Looking forward to it.
This airplane is absolutely stunning!!
Great Review. Can’t wait for the flight review
Should be up within 24 hours!
Great review Brian, I think I’ll be flying on this great aircraft soon
I’m sure you will be. It really is 👍 Check out the flight review. It’s coming right up!
What a remarkable Aircraft love it ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻✈️
Flew on one last summer on Swiss Air. pretty damn fabulous!
It’s very nice about the same sort of same cabin ambiance inside as the 737 MAX. The big plus though is that it doesn’t crash all the time.
I flew Edmonton to Toronto on the A220 last night, and I've got nothing but praise for it on every level. It's likely going to be a preferred jet for most of the lanes I regularly fly on, and I'm really looking forward to future flights.
How was flying now with all the Covid protocols? I normally fly a lot but haven’t been in the air since Feb.
@@EverydayReviews2022 I'm a very frequent flyer myself, and both flights (YYZ-YEG and YEG-YYZ) were rather startling right from the moment of arriving at the terminals. Virtually no vehicles (3 to 5) on Departures levels. Only people allowed in terminal were passengers and employees, so the terminals were ghost towns (YYZ was particularly striking). Added steps on boarding requiring temp check and having to lower face mask to verify ID. The temp check seemed very late in process to me (my suitcase was already on board, so if I was denied, they'd have to remove my baggage). Had to wipe down every surface at my seat before doing anything. Having a mask extender was a godsend for a 4 hr flight (6+ hours wearing a mask in not a ton of fun, but it's necessary). No food on flight, but I stocked up prior. It was my first flights during COVID, but I did fly YYZ to YVR during the height of SARS (with almost no protocols) and this was night/day in comparison of flights. This is going to be the new normal, and I wouldn't want to fly with young kids through this (my kids are thankfully well past that stage, once things have stabilized a bit).
Great plane! Good seat space, some entertainment, just what everybody would wish on every economy flight.
Watched your Porsche Macan GTS review ( great as always ) then this video played next on my auto play this is a really cool review and something different really cool to see
You should check out my flight of a lifetime video if you liked this one. It’s one of my favorites. Heck check out the whole travel playlist.
They are a BEAUTIFUL regional aircraft. And SUPER QUIET i think more airlines need to start using these. And weeding out these older aircraft like the Boeing 717 etc...
I was on the A220 about 2 weeks back, Dallas-Toronto. Returned on a 737-8.
beautiful airplane.
Proud as as an European that cooperation between the European Airbus company and Canada is and wil be succesful.

I've got my own Canadian bandit 200 times smaller courtesy of Gemini Jets!😜 (Chuckle) This sleek lil jet gonna be a game changer for sure. I’ve had “Sea Doo’s” made by Bombardier for 25 years. They make great stuff!
The A220 is an amazing aircraft, great interior and a great exterior. The Windshelid is like a 787 dreamliner and the Sharklets are shorter than those of the E175
She (the plane) looks like a gem. I would love to have an opportunity to fly on her. I hope that happens sooner than later!
I like this plane and hope I can fly in one soon. Fuel efficiency is alway welcome and quietness even more so since I live close to a regional airport.
Greetings and a big welcome to the family from Bremen, Germany where we do make some Airbus parts besides all those rocket things!
Oh.. Just love this aircraft. British Airways should buy this A220 for an All Business Class seat for their London City Airport. Also Qatar Airways should consider this aircraft too. Icelandair should also target this A220 too which fit their Business model.
All Business class on that plane out of City Airport would be to long haul destinations with an international control stopover like the A318 baby bus who does LCY JFK with a fuel and pre immigration stop in Ireland. I don't see much other destinations that would have such accommodation. And the size of the A318 gives a 8 rows of 2x2, 32 pax full business. It may really be not enough passengers for a full business transatlantic (24).
And would the A220 have enough range to fly transatlantic from LCY (with the stop at Shannon) ?
Yes, just a quick check. Indeed the A220 can fly a long haul range from LCY to New York.
A220-100 can fly out to 6297 KM while A220-300 design for 6204 KM.
@@franklinloo2160 Cool, I didn't have much doubt that it would be capable of it. But the destination pairing problem remains. What other city pairing could exist for such an exclusive product?
LCY is very close to the business district of London and the immigration checks at Shannon make those flights a pretty unique occurrence. There is (paused right now) also La Compagnie who has twice daily nonstop Paris Orly - NY Newark and daily Nice - Newark (May 1st to Sept 30th) operated by full business class 757 (phased out) and A321neo (phased in). But there's no preclearance for immigration.
Apart from these select city pairings all business flights are quite limited and mostly operated on 757 or A321neo on very few destinations.
Icelandair has business only flights? I've never heard of it.
Being a frequent Air Baltic customer I had many flights by A220-300. A really good experience so far. Air Baltic is the launch airline of A220-300.

It is incredible the width of the 19-inch chairs compared to the 17 inches of the 787, what is the use of traveling in economy class for 12 hours in a 17-inch chair ohh to say that it is widebody, definitely the airlines should consider buying this plane and I suggest stretching the fuselage of this plane to compete with the max 8 would be fantastic and the A321 XLR they would dominate the short and medium radio market
They actually listen to what the airlines need. Thank God!
I guess that depends on whether the airline operators want a 19-inch seat or not. But if they did choose the 19-inch seat, then you'd know that these airlines may be concerned about their passengers' comfort.
The 787 Dreamliner was also designed with 19-inches wide seats, but one airline realized that they could cram more seats with 17 inches and reducing a bit the aisles width, asked it to Boeing if they could, Boeing said "well, yes, but..." and all the airlines that had already placed their orders changed their option to the 17-inch seats. Exactly the same happened with the 777. In the A220, with only 5 seats across and only one aisle, taking 2 inches of the seats is not enough to add another one. It is the airlines, not the airplane manufacturers, the ones who lower the bar of comfort for the sake of economic efficiency. If not, think of seat pitch, and how economy went from 32 to 33 inches standard to 28 or 29 in the same airframes.
@@yengsabio5315 ... That's correct except that in this case yo gin nothing with narrower seats, you can't gain enough inches to make it a 3-3 config. With the 777 and 787 the airlines realized they could gain one seat across by cramming more seats that are narrower than Boeing had originally designed.
Great review, thanks for posting. Boeing really shot themselves in the foot by driving Bombardier into the arms of Airbus. I (used to) fly a lot and I'm really looking forward to flying on this plane. I wonder if it is as quiet as my favourite craft, the Airbus A340, which was a fantastic plane from a passenger perspective but not a great economic success for the carriers that bought it. I remember a wonderful flight from London to Hong Kong on a Virgin A340 and thinking "does this aircraft actually have engines? It's so quiet".
You’re right. Don’t need your noise-cancelling headphones when flying on the 340s👍
I am so saddened Bombardier had to sell to Airbus. But!! I am thrilled the program is showing success. The plane is absolutely stunning. I cannot wait to fly on one. I really want to try Air Canada's for sure. Love the interior Air Canada put in this beauty!
It’s a great plane. I flew it on its first flight and afterwards I thought, man this is an excellent way to travel.
It's still a Bombardier company, the Airbus is only a name for quality and design .... for better sales of Bombardier's ......
@@EverydayReviews2022 I finally got to fly on it! Get this, I have flown on it 6 times now. It is by far one of my favorite narrow body planes. The IFE screen that Delta uses on them are also pretty amazing.
To me, it will always be the C Series. Rhe C Series is on literally on the floor of the boarding door on Delta. At least on the 6 planes I flew on.
This airplane is legit. Canada did a heck of a job on building this plane. Wish Bombardier could have survived this. I wonder what they had planned for future C Series. Maybe a 500 to a 600? This plane could have given Boeing a run for it's money too.

Hi,
Nice review ....A220-300 looks very nice...at least the one from this video :)
When I had my first flight with this aircraft....I had no idea about it...
It is very true, the space between the seats is great, enough comfort ....but not all of them have IFE ...
Air Baltic haven't this future :)
But if your flight is less then 3 hours-my opinion- you don't need IFE...
Nice...
I think the A320 is my childhood aircraft because it was around in my birth year of 2000
Actually, that's a Bombardier C-300, and comparing it to the 787 NightmareLiner would be a terrible insult.
Well said!
I agree
Nice Plane , My fav planes are Boeing 737-800/900 & Airbus A320/A321 NEO's . I have had a keen interests since hearing about the A220's ect... I think it will fill a very needed nitch market as the airline industry goes forward in 2020/2021/2022 .
Nice presentation and review. Great airplane. Proudly canadian. Too bad Bombardier had to give it away..... I believe our government should have demanded more to make sure that in the future, airbus diesn't decide to drop all canadian production to favour their Mibile plant or European plant in order to protect our workers. With the Covid situation, production will be reduced but the future of this aircraft is there for a long time
I think this size aircraft will be very ideal for these Covid days were facing with lower demand and loads.
Mirabel will stick to 4 per month for one more year. The ramp up should its course afterward.
I really like the carry on bag at 4:36 - please can you share the brand name/model.? I want.
Right plane right time. Hope air bus doesn't can the stretch, so as to prevent competition for the A320 range.
when you invest in RnD you get good return's, boeing did with 747 but they the pass the opportunity in 737 max
Maybe that is the first for Air Canada but Swiss has been flying this aircraft already for quite a while. Maybe that was worth mentioning... Apart from the fact that they lost parts of the engine in the air a few months ago, it felt good flying it from ZRH to KBP (back in 2019)
The title does say it’s North America’s first A220-300. Didn’t hear about the lost parts. Will need to check that out. Thanks

Why would you insult the A200 by calling it a mini Dreamliner. From what Ive heard it's batteries don't catch fire, it's not having problems with it's fuselage and its windshields aren't cracking in mid flight and it's never been grounded and airline aren't refusig deliveries becauseof poor quality control. The Dreamliner can only dream of being as good as the A220. Well done Bombardier for producing a winner.
Damm. I Wish AirAsia Operates This Aircraft For Domestic Uses
Definitely. AA should just chuck their 320s. It's torture in their economy seats
In theory it could do transatlantic from Halifax
Yes it could.
But you didn’t mention how’s the drive ..!
That’s coming in the next video. Working on it now😊
Will knock a lot of 737-700's out of the sky
It knocked the A319neo and 737MAX-7 out of the market
It has a dome of sorts.. for testing..?
Well done! I wonder if we should cut our losses with the Max and go completely A220? The big one AND the small one! Could we do that? What would the penalties be? Don't airlines all have a good solid case against Boeing? Is it an option? Seems like they're finding something newly wrong everyday at Boeing....I don't think I could ever fly the Max now...
As much as I like the A220, they're really not a comparable role. There haven't really been any new issues coming up with the aircraft itself, not that I am aware of, but they really want to make sure they're right before they clear them to fly again. There's nothing wrong with the core product, the core product has been flying for half a century, and even the core MAX product is flying today in military variants, variants which are immune to the issues the civilian fleet has. Pretty sure most of the clowns inside Boeing are gone, and when this is all over, it'll be just as safe as any other aircraft.
The C-serie have been sold for 1$. What a great move.
Hopefully the fan blades will be better than some other P&W engines
Made in Canada 🇨🇦! Are you listening WestJet!
Until of course Airbus finishes building their new factory in the States. Don't forget Bombardier has no financial interest in this project anymore, so whether Airbus keeps the Montréal plant alive will depend on the "cooperation" of their 16% shareholder, the Québec government.
@@TheSynecdoche
Currently Québec has a 20%.
The Mobile FAL is required to serve the US market - particularly for the A220-300. (The A220 - 100 is considered not harming Boeing as they don't sell anything in that size. Nothing was decided for the A220-300)
Man the Canadians sure know how to make business jets like the global series, challenger and the learjet, it’s just a shame that they gave up on commercial aviation
Except for the q400
The q400 is still Canadian owned
If all the heavy passengers are on one side then I guess you have to knife flight it. In all seriousness, are there specific loading requirements for this plane due to the asymmetric seating or is it not an issue?
no not on that fuselage axis as its the centrwe of the aircraft between 2 wings. weight balance front to rear would affect it more
C - Grov is my baby. Yes. The first "C - Series" I QA'd is check, flight and maintenance manuals in paper and DVD. As a complete package order and shipped. The first Complete Package order for our facility. As well for Air Canada. Which is also the last "C-Series" 300 produced by Bombardier before Airbus Acquired the name and the first C -Series to be renamed the Airbus A220.
My job was to supply this aircraft and the others with flight manuals in case of a go to ground situations and material for test centers around the globe. We tested 6 aircraft between 2013. and 2014. My Baby, flew a limited route to Toronto, from Ottawa YOWs it's base of testing operations, emergency systems and MFG retrofit and return between the three regional airports.
I worked every day on behalf of our printing facility and bombardier. I would wake up to watch this aircraft land at YOW. I would come home to watch it take off to Laval or Toronto. Bombardier put this through the ropes and even flew it to Iqaluit of which I watched it take off in the morning of a minus 35c to landing in minus 58C conditions. That evening was fun because I was on stand by up until 8pm to ship the order if required with my account manager, she told me at 5:50. to pack up and head home. I watched it come in from leaving work, to my apartment building.
Along with this aircraft. I supported Swiss Air's two test vehicles. AirBaltic. Delta, Metla, Emirates, AirCanada and watched AirFrance acquire aircraft after the Airbus purchase.
For the Canadian Aviation enthusiasts reading. I was hurt when we lost Bombardier to the private sector, but I am happy with how they sold the assists behind the scenes. Viking, now rebooting DeHaviland is the legacy of the country which started with Bombie making the right decisions. Regional Jet as well to Airbus and how I was happy and proud they kept the MFG site in Laval. Where it belongs and continues to support the community and people who are like you or me proud to build these aircraft for our country and the world.
Airbus keeps their promise to ensure this Aircraft remains and holds it's position to be the best aircraft of it's class and rival other classes for efficiency. Bombardier took inspiration from all of it's history that it acquired from the purchase of the collapse of AVRO, LearJet and Hawker Siddeley AKA (CanadaCar. Look it up)
Yes... The legacy of Avro Arrows innovation lives on in the C-Series and A220's flight controls of fly by wire. Along with other tech that AVRO was looking to market to commercial liners back in the day before the events of Black Friday.
This is more than the pride of Quebec. This is the legacy of Canada's Aviation and innovation that stems back to the silver dart and it's dream in 1909 to fly people around our country to reduce the emissions and impacts caused by rail. Which I happy and proud to be a part of the history of this aircraft!

The first ones are built in Canada, but once Airbus has it new building in the US. Big part of the production will move there. We create great products and we have to let them go. Feels like the Avro Arrow all over again, but this time we gave the tech to the competitor.
Mobile will produce A220s for the US market. Smart move with the current protectionnism trend in the US.
@@erictremblay4940 Yes, for the US market only, for global markets still in Canada, very shrewd move against which Boeing can't do anything.. Also the US government can't stop it. Even Trump couldn't find a solution that would help Boeing.
Avro Arrow was a disaster, a megalomania . Canada embarked on an ambitious project that was impossible to complete. A huge risky investment without securing a potential buyer. Royal Canadian Airforce would never have been able to buy the neccessary number of fighters to break even, not even close,. The project would have ended in a huge loss and devoured a big portion of Canadian defence budget.

Great aircraft indeed ! Now, how about working on great customer service ?
Boeing is going to have it's hands full competing with Airbus in this size category, especially since the A220 isn't grounded.
Daniel Barton The closest product Boeing has in comparison the the A220 (fmr.(formally) CSeries) is the B717 (Boeing 717-200) and production for the B717 ceased in (if I remember correctly) 2006.
Air Canada is not the first North American airline to introduce the A220 to its fleet. Delta already has them.
First A220-300 which is a larger plane. Delta has the A220-200 and will be introducing the A220-300 as well, they ordered a bunch.
Everyday Reviews There is no such thing as the A220-200 and Delta is waiting on their first A220-300 to be delivered later in 2020. They only operate the A220-100 between LGA, IAH, SLC, etc. They are expecting 90 total A220 aircraft including the 100 and 300 variants. Also Dreamliner windows are about the same size if not a bit bigger. The windows look bigger than they actually are because the seats are closer together and in a different configuration.
