I can vouch, being there live, me and my friend went through the entire match thinking "Just get the pedigree over with, we have a long 5 hour drive back home coming up". LOL
Yep. Even with my feelings on the Rock/Hogan match being alright wise when you push past the crowd and the hype, it definitely should of been the main without question.
I just now realized that William Regal was in the opening match of Wrestlemania 17 and 18! Back to back opening Mania Matches is something you can’t take away that from him!
was able to go to this wrestlemania because my brother bought my ticket, I was 13 at the time and we had floor seats. first and only time ive ever been to a wrestling event. I'll never forget Rock Vs Hogan that crowd was incredible.

We had no idea what was being said but we were both just ecstatic watching the Hogan vs Rock match. I will always remember and cherish that Wrestlemania.
This Wrestlemania could’ve been better if WWE had planned it better let’s be honest Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit rematch would’ve been better than a whole Kurt Angle vs Kane match which seems very weird and RVD vs William Regal would’ve been better but it was pretty cool if the match was a little better maybe having a ladder match for the Intercontinental Title and allowing RVD to win the title after delivering a good Five Star Frog Splash onto someone maybe having Kane participate in the match as well now having Triple H vs Jericho as the ending would’ve been better if WWE planned it out better not focusing on Stephanie but focus mostly on Triple H and Jericho and HHH wanting to take back what is rightfully his but for the Tag Division they should’ve kept Edge and Christian together instead of separating them same with The Hardy Boyz remaining together and The Dudley Boyz for another TLC match for the WWF World Tag Team Titles next having DDP and Mick Foley in a Street Fight would’ve been interesting and having The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan made perfect sense but having Stone Cold be the host for Wrestlemania 18 makes perfect sense and deliver a Stone Cold Stunner to Vince McMahon and Shane McMahon and Linda McMahon and Stephanie McMahon next having an 24/7 Hardcore Championship match would make perfect sense but the match to open up the night should’ve been for the Cruiserweight Title and have a 6 Pack Cruiserweight match
smh I still hate that they gave the tag match win to Billy and Chuck when the Hardys and Dudleys deserved a Mania win for once after their previous ladder/TLC showcases.
A funny thing about the Triple H and Jericho feud in the storyline was that Jericho and Stephanie were originally going to be a couple but Triple H got insecure about it and pulled the same "There's no way Stephanie would leave a guy like me for him" thing he did when they were going to do the same in his feud with Angle in 2000. Was he that paranoid that he thought Stephanie acting out a romance storyline with a wrestler other than him would make her leave him for that wrestler in real life?
No it wasn't. WrestleMania X-Seven was the end of the attitude era. Just the Ruthless aggression era begins in 2002 that makes the attitude era didn't lasted that long. WWE forgets their past.
The Beginning of the Attitude Era and The Ending of the Attitude Era is debatable. Some people including myself would say the Attitude Era Kicked Off between Stone Cold Austin 3:16 promo at King of the Ring, Brian Pillman Gun angle or when Bret Hart Snapped and where it concluded I'll say when the Brand split happened was the start of the Ruthless Aggression era.
@@KenRising1996 the beginning of the Attitude Era began on March 30, 1998 (the night after WrestleMania 14 and coincidentally the same night that the Attitude Signature Intro started, and the same night that we got a new WWF title) and ended on March 22, 2002 or March 26, 2001 (the night that WCW was bought out). The Attitude Era had two WrestleMania’s 15, and 2000. WrestleMania 17 started the Invasion Angle.
I rated this PPV a 9/10. Rock vs Hogan were the two of the biggest icons collided. Undertaker vs Ric Flair was underrated so as DDP vs Christian with Christian throwing a temper tantrum in a post match, The Opener was good, Kurt Angle had a decent match with Kane, Scott Hall sells Stone Cold Stunners like a boss, and HHH winning the Undisputed Championship. Y2J's main event push as Undisputed Champion was buried and Rock vs Hogan should have closed the show.
The event didn't follow up strongly from Wrestlemania 17. The card couldve been swapped around to Stone Cold vs. Triple H, Edge vs. Y2J etc. but still felt like a Wrestlemania
I just wonder who actually booked this card, how the hell could you not have Hogan vs The Rock as the Main Event? It's the same crap they did with HBK vs Ric Flair, HBK vs Taker, Batista vs Taker, etc. Did the WWE really think ANY MATCH was gonna top Hogan vs Rock? Sure HHH and Y2J had a decent match, but it's not something that you ultimately remember!

Would of prefer it to be Edge vs. Christain for the European Championship in Toronto, Canada Booker T vs. DDP as a last WCW match angle sort of thing Then try to do something more for Angle and Kane

Tbh I think this is one of the best Mania’s ever. So many 1v1 classics, great attires, great stage and arena. The only misstep was having HHH vs Jericho after Rock vs Hogan.
I liked the Show I also like the stage the hardcore championship segmebts were great sadly it was Lita’s only match and mania And The Nwo vs Stone cold and the rock at Raw happened at my birthday
Poor Edge and Booker T were in a real "The writers have nothing for you" position at this Wrestlemania. They fought over which of them would be in a shampoo advert of all things.

The match wasn't promoted properly, wasn't built properly, nothing." And he was right because the extent of the feud was that The NWO helped Jericho retain the Undisputed belt against Austin at No Way Out because Steve threw away some beers they gave him so he went after them. This was during a pretty dark period in Austin's life too. His neck problems were getting to him, his marriage to Debra fell apart and he started abusing her, he didn't like how shitty some of the storylines being written at the time were. He also said that he would have put over Brock Lesnar if it had been a PPV match or an actual feud but not the way they planned it which was to have Brock quickly beat him in a King of the Ring qualifying match after Eddie Guerrero who would have been the special referee helped Brock win. I always felt like Rob Van Dam VS Y2J should’ve been the championship match because he was so over and at one point was even chasing the title and constantly getting screwed! Triple H should’ve team with Austin against the Outsiders
I think that if Austin was in the match they could have stuck if the heel face dynamic. Because Austin would have got more cheers than The Rock did, even at has most popular in matches The Rock was booed sometimes
Watched this recently. The only 3 matches that made any sense were RVD/ Regal, Rock/Hogan and Taker/Flair. Everything else felt messy. I'm fantasy booking here but Title match should have been HHH/ Austin. It felt like they were building to that anyway. Jericho should have done something with NWO. They should have done TLC3. Technically TLC4. Angle vs Mr Perfect. Kane vs Nash. Again fantasy booking.

Survivor Series:World Heavyweight Title Elimination Chamber Match
Armageddon:Rob Van Dam vs Triple H vs HBK-World Heavyweight Title
Royal Rumble:Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam-WWE IC Title
No Way Out:Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam-WWE IC Title
WrestleMania 19:WWE IC Title Ladder Match
I was there live (5th deck lol..) Other than Hogan/Rock, it just did NOT feel like a Wrestlemania at all. Had much more fun at a bunch of Raws/Smackdowns/B PPVs (No Way Out 2003 with the Hogan/Rock rematch). At least the 1 match was special.
WWF WrestleMania X8 from Toronto SkyDome. In retrospect, Hogan and Rock should've been "The Main Event".
I always felt like Rob Van Dam VS Y2J should’ve been the championship match because he was so over and at one point was even chasing the title and constantly getting screwed! Triple H should’ve team with Austin against the Outsiders
Let’s Go
I think that if Austin was in the match they could have stuck if the heel face dynamic. Because Austin would have got more cheers than The Rock did, even at has most popular in matches The Rock was booed sometimes
Maybe austin vs angle
Watched this recently. The only 3 matches that made any sense were RVD/ Regal, Rock/Hogan and Taker/Flair. Everything else felt messy. I'm fantasy booking here but Title match should have been HHH/ Austin. It felt like they were building to that anyway. Jericho should have done something with NWO. They should have done TLC3. Technically TLC4.
Angle vs Mr Perfect. Kane vs Nash. Again fantasy booking.
