Bro, this is so relatable. As a kid, you want to watch everything and you’d do anything possible to get what you want. Honestly, I don’t usually condone this, but you did the right thing here as WrestleMania XX is a classic ppv for sure. That ending with Benoit and Eddie is still emotional to this day!
Bruh I can relate too when we got Directv I ordered like 2 ppl my dukes asked if I ordered it I said no I didn’t and she was like it clearly was purchased from my box 😭
Bro I did the same exact thing with Judgment Day 2004 😭😭😭😭 it’s embedded in my memory as the first ppv i saw live booker t vs taker … then a few later my mom beats my ass for buying it 💀
I used to catch Raw on Telemundo six days after it was originally aired lol. I was fortunate enough to speak and understand Spanish so i just watched Raw in Spanish lol.
I can relate. After 98 I moved in with my dad who didn't have cable, so the only way I kept up with wrestling was video games, and the local radio station morning show. They had a segment where they would recap raw on Tuesday. Then some time in 2002/2003. I was going through our 4 channels we had. Some times 5 or 6 depending on the weather. I came across wrestling. I figured out that it was a weekly show, and would watch most days in black and white, and through major snow on the screen. At first I didn't know it was wwe. As we where well out of the stations viewing area. Some time later. I'm watching snl, and during a commercial. I turned to a local station to see wrestling at like 1130 on a sat. It was the same program I have been watching in a snowstorm and in black and white. After 4 years of not seeing any wwe wrestling. I was able to see it. I was do happy.
I had cable off and on growing up so smackdown was always what I watched more than raw as it was during the times I had cable I was able to watch raw so that was why smackdown has always been my show and not to mention how they would recap raw on smackdown with the raw rebound.
If I could've figured out to order the ppvs I would have lol never had one l, always had DVDs months later or saw it at someone else's house, dark days😂
Bruh I can relate too, I remember I accidentally ordered Elimination Chamber 2011 and I was like "oh shit". My mom freaked out while my dad told me not to do it again and watched the pay-per-view with me. Lol
That was such a bomb ass show, I was a broke ass welfare kid, but for whatever reason I remember getting Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Mania 27 on PPV from my dad because he was a lapsed fan and that was like the best three months of my life. I wasn’t even allowed to stay up til 8 to watch Raw or SD but I loved those shows on my DVR. Edge and Ziggler at the Rumble with the Spear banned was a classic.
Haha I did this exact same thing ranging from Survivor Series 2010-Elimination Chamber 2011, and that was around the time I started watching WWE weekly lmao
I did the same for TLC 2010 I was the biggest kofi Kingston fan he was in a triple threat he lost and I got a ass beating then my grandpa felt bad and watched the show with me
I was nine in 2000, I remember the hype for Summerslam and the first TLC match. I was a huge Hardy fan and absolutely had to see it. There was an elderly couple near us that were family friends and I asked if there anything I could to do to help out for some money. I was helping them with stuff until the sun went down and when I finished they straight up gave me the money for the PPV. Greatest summer ever.

This one time she said yeah, and it was a dope experience. It my first time watching a PPV live. Also, I feel as though you had io (optimum) as your cable provided back then like me, lol.
That is so awesome my first PPV live was actually the Smackdown PPV after that The Great American Bash 2006. I remember wanting to see the Punjabi Prison Match, Batista return (he was my favorite as a kid) and Rey vs King Booker (hoping Rey retained). I remember enjoying the PPV and it could be nostalgia but I still enjoy it today.
I related to this story so much. I got cable canceled in my house for doing something similar. In 1993, my house gets cable in January. I wanted to see WWE pay-per-views. At the time, WWF held 5 PPVs a year. Royal Rumble, WM, KOTR, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. In April, I ordered WM with my parents knowledge, my stepfather ordered boxing that was on that same month. Later that month, WCW had a PPV. I decided to order the show without my parents permission. When the bill came that stare came towards me and I knew the jig was up. WM was $40, Boxing was $75 and the WCW PPV was $30 that was $145 plus the normal bill of $100. Add taxes fees the bill was like $300+ dollars. My parents said you like ordering stuff unauthorized....they canceled the cable. I did not get cable again until I moved out and got my own place after college (no lie). My parents were strict as hell.
@Shadow_The_Hedgehog2010 ive never heard of slapping your kids as discipline. Spanking yeah, but slapping no. The way he described it, they slapped that shit out of him. No love tap or anything. That's abuse. Regardless of what he did.

I grew up poor, so I never had the opportunity to watch a WWE PPV event. I wanted to watch Wrestlemania 24 with all my heart. I feel like that was going to be the best Wrestlemania ever. Now as an adult I order UFC fights whenever one of my favorite fighters fight. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it. Whenever I have kids I want to watch PPV events with them.
I started watching wwe in 2011 but yeah same couldn’t afford every event. The only ones i remember getting were in 2012. WM28, no way out, over the lim, xtreme rules. Then the network came along and that changed everything.
My parents couldn't afford it all the time. I was lucky to order 3 ppv in total my whole life: vengeance 2005 great American bash 2005 (regret it) , and royal rumble 2006 Wasn't until I discovered live steam thanks to the internet . Some how I randomly discovered a live stream of no mercy 2007
I remember that WrestleMania. It was the first PPV I ever watched. Growing up in the 90s you couldn't order it through the TV you had to call the cable company to order it and I knew my mom wouldn't do it so I never asked. I remember watching this WrestleMania because I found out the movie theater showed all the WWE pay per views and we're charging like 5 dollars a ticket. I jumped on that chance. I remember I had just turned 18.
The intro is one of my favourite bits it sets the scene 😂 it really brings me back to my childhood, we watched the same shows and listened to the same music
when he said that he started to get annoyed and switched to the next channel I put both of my hands in front of my face and said "Noooo I know where this is going!" But that story is an absolute classic tbh hahaha
PPVs back in the attitude and ruthless aggression era we’re dope af. And luckily I hardly ever missed a PPV. My dad and I always watched them and Raw together. Sometimes SmackDown w me too. But always the PPVs and most Raws. We even went to Mania X8 live in person. Went to Backlash 2006. Been to Raw, SmackDown and countless house shows.
I still remember you F5ing the Wii controller. Love your story Pav :) your stories and the timeline were when was a kid too.. the way you tell your stories is exactly how I felt about wrestling at the time.
This is my new favorite Pav video, this was so relatable and funny. I’m a bit younger, and my deadbeat dad would spend his money on pay per views now and again, I vividly remember Great American Bash 2007, my dad and I cheered Lashley and my mom and my sister were for Cena, classic main event. But my first pay per view I ever convinced my parents to buy for me specifically was Ring of Honor Global Wars, it was right before Bullet Club got huge in America, it was so sweet. I also remember TNA Hardcore Justice 2010, the TNA/ECW reunion show. It was a lackluster show but as a kid I thought RVD and bald Sabu was the coolest shit ever.
LMAOOO bro I remember the next day watching Hardxore Justice on some random file sharing site. I was soooo excited. Just to see all of the ECW guys so fat and washed up. A bald Sabu and man I was just disappointed lmaoo🥺
@@WrestlinGifs dude, the match itself was some prime ECW ‘06 stuff though, it was sweet, bald Sabu and chubby blonde Raven live rent free in my head. That Dreamer/Raven match was horrible too, Tommy bled in the front row in front of his kids and his wife for a one night gig, come on bro 💀
I remember my brother bought WM 24 and One Night Stand. He got in so much trouble but watching Ric flair retire and undertaker get sent flying into 4+ tables was amazing
i did that too i took the for my brother blame for him my mom was mad said you better not do that again i went to my sisters room me and my brothers watch wrestlemania 24 on ppv always wanted to order ppv my mom will not let me i was so mad black people can not buy wwe ppv
Yo, I had to beg my parents to watch WrestleMania XX lol. I was 8 at the time. I was so hyped for Undertaker vs. Kane and the triple threat World title match. There was no way I was gonna miss Mania. Thankfully, we watched it together as a family 😬 I’ll never forget that night.
I bought Summerslam 2006 without my parents knowing. I was really excited to see Hulk Hogan vs Orton, DX vs the McMahons, Ric Flair vs Mick Foley and of course Edge vs John Cena. Thankfully my dad didn't really get pissed he just told me "If you do it again, Your ass is grassed." My dad was pretty laid back but I knew not to do it again cause he did kick my ass if I disobeyed him after he told me not too.
Thankfully I got almost every PPV. I even went to Armageddon 2004 in Atlanta. Dad was also a wrestling fan. Well.. mainly an Eddie Guerrero fan. I always told him Eddie was wrestling and it got ordered. I'm sure dad knew what I was doing and ordered it anyways because he sat down and watched it with us and had a blast.
My uncle was a fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin. A die-hard fan of the Texas Rattlesnake. In 2004 he invited me to his house to watch WrestleMania XX with his daughters and my godparents' son with me. The day WrestleMania XX was aired live at MSG it celebrated its 20th Anniversary since its inception all began in 1985. It was history in the making. My uncle had direct TV or an old school ppv wooden box like in the old days, remember? So it was the upmost WrestleMania event ever without question. We were rambling what to watch. My uncle wanted to see Goldberg vs Lesnar with his idol serve as Special Guest Referee. I care one thing and that is to watch the return of the Undertaker in classic deadman form and defeated Kane, the man who buried his own brother at Survivor Series months ago. Not to mention the entire spectacle made me invested even more and more. So I arrived at my uncle's house at 6pm I think because days before the event it was announced its special start time at 5pm as well but it was actually at 7pm because of Sunday Night Heat special on Spike TV. It mattered for me the hype, the spectacular moments, the grandeur, the greatest if not the most awesome WrestleMania XX of all time. Of all the WrestleManias I've watched either on ppvs, dvds, and even on mobile live streaming I say WM is by far my favorite WrestleMania no debate.
great, great story dude. my favourite part was when your dad prior to the hurting "why are you crying now, whats the point of crying now".... amazing story. As a 27 year old with south asian parent(s), I felt too many parallels/flashbacks. And I happy to hear they werent brutal with you. Tho I felt like Rogers shoulda waived all but the inaugural PPV purchased.
Here in Canada . It used to be $34.99 for all ppv . Except Wrestlemania XX . It was $49.99. 12 & 13 was $29.99 . 14 & 15 was $34.99 . 16 , 17 & 18 was $39.99 . 19 was $44.99 . All on Viewers Choice PPV .
You definitely paint a picture and these kind of stories is something you're going to look back on in your much older years and chuckle. I remember my grandmother would let me order pay-per-views every now and again I accidentally ordered a adult movie on a forbidden channel luckily it said heat and she thought it was wrestling 😆😂 subscribed.
Watching WrestleMania is a must-see, especially if big time matches are on the card. And since Pav didn’t finish WrestleMania XX, I wonder which match did he watch from that event before his mom told him to go to sleep. If it’s Lesnar vs Goldberg, it’s a-ok but if it’s the Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle match or the triple threat main event and the finale that won’t be talked about anymore or even the return of The Undertaker, it’s awful
I remember there was a channel on cable that was all static. It was the PPV channel. If you sat in the right spot in the living room, the static would briefly fade away for a few moments. I remember it was the night of No Mercy 2005, and my cousin and I sat in the right spot in the living room and the static briefly faded away and we saw Randy Orton light Undertaker’s casket on fire. Never ended up ordering a PPV until my parents let me order HIAC 09. Let down by it.
I was blessed to have a friend that had a dad that watched every pay per view. I’m sure he didn’t pay for them, I was too young to care. Every event in the attitude era. I was blessed. Best time in wrestling
My first ever pay per view was wrestlemaina 21....such a dope experience in the movie theatre when i was like 9-10...i miss those days. gosh darn i miss those days 1000%
I remember my parents ordered me wrestlmania 20 I got to invite some friends and one of my cousins over, it was fuckin awesome!! We ordered pizza and wings and had a great time
I had this situation yesterday with the Xbox store. I kept trying to buy DOA4 and kept getting errors messages. I really wanted to buy the game and it wasn’t until like 2 hours later that I checked my checking account and it was in the negatives. I had no idea it was still charging me, even though my transactions didn’t even finish on Microsoft’s end. I checked my order history on my Microsoft Account and the charges weren’t there, but we’re on my checking account. My mom was absolutely furious and was constantly swearing at me. It wasn’t even like this was a micro transactions stuff, because there you know if you paying. When you go and try to buy something and you get an error message that should be an indication that the transaction didn’t go though. I told my mom that if a lot of other people are complaining about this on Twitter (including other games like Star Wars Episode III) and even Xbox Support brings it up it’s clearly not my fault, but my mom disagrees.
My jaw dropped when you said $800 not gonna lie. Funny enough wrestlemania 20 was the show that got me into wrestling. Keep these up man, i had some good genuine reactions that i could really relate to!
i went to wrestlemania 32 and the feeling of leaving school on that thursday and Flying to Dallas and that whole weekend was insane, and going back to school and telling all my friends about it was awesome too
Oh yeah I done that too. I saw the Wrestlemania 30 on demand in Time Warner Cable and I want to watch it thinking that it was free because it didn’t show the price in it. So long story short my parents got mad at me and made me pay with my allowance. It sucks but at least I saw Daniel Bryan became a undisputed champion
Luckily in the UK- some of the PPV’s were free on sky. I used to get my dad to record them on VCR 😂 I particularly remember watching No Mercy 2003 with brock lesnar v the undertaker in a bike chain match. Survivor Series 2003 when the undertaker got buried alive by Kane & of course wrestlemania XX amazing event, loved watching them back the next day after school.
Not gonna lie, you guys love the Storytime series waaay more than I expected ❤️
Yessir keep it up plz WrestlinGifs

My parents couldn't afford it all the time. I was lucky to order 3 ppv in total my whole life: vengeance 2005 great American bash 2005 (regret it) , and royal rumble 2006
Wasn't until I discovered live steam thanks to the internet . Some how I randomly discovered a live stream of no mercy 2007
Bash 05 was not good
@@Naruto0s44 I was new to wrestling at the time.looking back was waste
We all ordered PPV without our parents knowing at some point!
This channel is honestly comforting to me. It's so great to listen to someone talk about wrestling who loves it as much as you do.
It was a exclusive special version of wrestle-mania in the garage 😂😂😂
I’m so glad that my dad is also a wrestling fan. We watched Wrestlemania every year on ppv and a few of the rumbles as well.
Your a lucky guy
Definitely relatable 😂😂😂, I always asked my mom to order every month , I got lucky a few times but she always bought me the DVDs of the ppv I missed
"channels i should have never seen" hahahaha. as a kid who also had dish network I felt that.
900 Dollars for 2.5 hours of Wrestlemania? Damn that's a great deal..
Bro easily one of the coolest and most relatable wrestling related concepts for a video I've seen in a minute, props my friend. Subbed
2:56 Unintentionally Foreshadowing for the next story video.
That's cool.
This is just golden 🤣🤣 we need more story times
I get why people love the Attitude Era, but growing up in the Ruthless Aggression Era was so lit!
I would of got slapped beat with a belt and grounded for 2 to 3 weeks if I did something like that as a kid 😂
Haha same
Same bro 😮💨
Damn bro I felt this. Thanks for reopening the scars
You're a real storyteller! Crazy stuff though!
Man I never had to go through the pain of asking my parents to buy ppvs’ since we had a black box.
“I just had to get out it my system” 😂😂😂😂😂 bro you were running with the devil
Real ones remember hearing this on the rare gaming streams w/ the Undertaker entrance songs playing in the background.
I “accidentally” ordered a TNA payperview. Literally when I first started watching TNA and it was worth the whooping
Pav vs Pop: Garage Match
😆 🤣
The fact the bill was probably the price of the tickets at ringside lmao
great, great story dude. my favourite part was when your dad prior to the hurting "why are you crying now, whats the point of crying now".... amazing story. As a 27 year old with south asian parent(s), I felt too many parallels/flashbacks. And I happy to hear they werent brutal with you. Tho I felt like Rogers shoulda waived all but the inaugural PPV purchased.
Bro keep doing this vids bro I’m a 96’ baby so we remember damn near everything you be covering play for play brings sooo much nostalgia
Lmao I did the same thing!! Man the whooping my dad gave me and the yelling my mom gave me man it was the worst 😅🤣🤣
Haha, reminds me of the time i accidentally ordered an adult movie and my parents never find out
Storytime with Pav remains incredible! We need more of these. 😭😭🔥
The next one gonna be even more legendary 🙏🏼
Here in Canada . It used to be $34.99 for all ppv . Except Wrestlemania XX . It was $49.99. 12 & 13 was $29.99 . 14 & 15 was $34.99 . 16 , 17 & 18 was $39.99 . 19 was $44.99 . All on Viewers Choice PPV .
Everytime i come from school and see WrestlinGifs posted it just puts a smile to my face
What year you in
@@persistentlypathetic6820 11th grade
My biggest issue wasn't the PPV (cuz I was ok with the recaps), it was the fact I couldn't get SVR 2007 when it came out 😣
I was blessed to have a friend that had a dad that watched every pay per view. I’m sure he didn’t pay for them, I was too young to care. Every event in the attitude era. I was blessed. Best time in wrestling
Loved it you wouldn’t believe me saying this but you’re the GOAT
Haven’t even started the vid, I already know it’s gonna be awesome. Great work man, keep it up!
I remember ordering Wrestlemania 22 when I was 8. I didn’t tell my mom to the next morning 🤣
What was your mom's reaction?
My first ever pay per view was wrestlemaina 21....such a dope experience in the movie theatre when i was like 9-10...i miss those days. gosh darn i miss those days 1000%
I remember my parents ordered me wrestlmania 20 I got to invite some friends and one of my cousins over, it was fuckin awesome!! We ordered pizza and wings and had a great time
I legit almost had a stroke when you said you ordered it multiple times
Wow the ending was crazy tho that beating from your dad was crazy crazy story bro
You gotta bring the story times back I re watch these every now and then
I had this situation yesterday with the Xbox store.
Tbf tho back in the day theyd have the order option from like 12pm-12am making you think its a 30hr show😂
My jaw dropped when you said $800 not gonna lie. Funny enough wrestlemania 20 was the show that got me into wrestling. Keep these up man, i had some good genuine reactions that i could really relate to!
Judging by what i see you are either a mayor or a bulgarian
@@AntonDDimov I am Groot
‘A few slaps never hurt nobody’😂😂 yea…except for when they hurt😂
This is so relatable but dumb me was buying 60 dollar paper-view then paying 10 dollars a month for the wwe network 🤣
Dude that really is dumb unless you were like 10
i went to wrestlemania 32 and the feeling of leaving school on that thursday and Flying to Dallas and that whole weekend was insane, and going back to school and telling all my friends about it was awesome too
Oh yeah I done that too.
I guess Meltzer can go back to his report on the buys for the night and knock off a few thousand because some 6 year old got ahold of the remote.
😂😂😂Pav you really have a good sense of humor. The way he narrates his stories are just so satisfying and funny
