Thanks for another banger bro! I have a suggestion for another story time for you to do that would be essential. Talk about the time you found out pro wrestling was fake and how you felt afterwards lool
No Mercy 2007 was such an insane PPV. Triple H competed in 3 matches in one night once against Umaga and twice against Randy Orton. I know Triple H got double pay that night
No Mercy 2007 was easily one of the most unique and most awesome PPVs I have ever seen as a kid. While it was depressing for us kids that Cena wasn’t competing, the way they handled the show by having HHH wrestle 3 times and become a true warrior while saving us from the Viper that was Randy Orton, was amazing and while Orton did win at the end, it was such a unique PPV as a whole, and I love it for how it made the best out of a bad situation. Truly awesome.😁
@@richborn6700 Cena was basically unstoppable when he was the WWE Champion in late 2006-mid 2007. No matter who faced him, they lose to Cena. I wonder, if Cena never tore his pec and got sidelined, what would have happened to his WWE title reign? Since the game plan for No Mercy 2007 is to have Cena lose to Randy, what will Cena be doing since Randy would be focusing on defending his WWE title against Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy and a returning Chris Jericho?
@@Mickey-v7p dude y’all are so wrong Bianca and Roman and Gunther all of them wasn’t wrestling as frequently as cena was in that time cena defended his title like almost every show in wrestling cena defended his title in OVW of all places y’all are not understanding cena was a way better longer reigning champion then Roman and everyone nowadays they didn’t have as many title defenses as cena did.
Dude your not lying about how EVERY PPV used to feel for us as kids. I remember always ALWAYS wanting to buy a PPV but usually always getting denied. I do remember purchasing The Bash 2009 over my Aunts house because I knew I wouldn’t get in trouble for ordering without permission lol
I was 7 around this time period and I definitely remember when WWE PPVs used to cost an arm and a leg to purchase and watch, lol. WWE Network/Peacock was and still is a godsend.
No Mercy 2007 has been my favorite ppv since I was a little kid and the reason Randy Orton has always been my favorite wrestler. For the exact same reasons you hated this show as a kid, I loved it. This made me feel like I would've if I would've had friends who watched wrestling at that time and had watched it with me.
I was one of those fortunate kids living a household that had one of those illegal set top boxes (the blackbox) that allowed you to watch HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and every single PPV without actually paying - in addition to basic cable. I saw almost every WWE PPV in the 2000s for free. This is also how I watched TNA during their early "Asylum" years.
Man that 40 dollar price point killed many kids dreams lmao. Happy I was an adult by then. Love hearing your takes my guy especially the ones that involve your child hood like this.
People don’t understand the struggle of being able to watch a PPV as a kid in the 2000s. I remember when I was 8 and I was begging my parents to buy me Royal Rumble 2009 and seeing Randy win it all made me depressed lol simpler times tho
I got into wwe like two weeks before this, just the promos alone for the Punjabi prison match and last man standing match and that was it. The begging my poor parents got 😂 proud to say no mercy 2007 was my first ever ppv.
This was my first live wrestling show. I was a huge John Cena fan at the time and was bummed he wasn’t there. That said, Triple H made this show phenomenal with his three title matches.
I swear we had the same childhoods growing up as Punjabi kids with strict immigrant parents with this stuff. I'm glad my dad was a huge wrestling fan and he would buy the PPV's most times but my mom would always hate seeing $60 on the cable bill and would always yell at my dad for ordering them.
Same here bro. They would criticize it for it being "Fake", but their bollywood movies and Punjabi content was like as if it is their heritage and culture. They just never understood our likes and dislikes.
another certified instant classic from Pav, story time is always my favorite videos on the channel this reminds me of when I begged and pleaded for my mom to order me WrestleMania XXX when I was like 12. I had my neighbors over and they didn’t know about wrestling, they were super loud and obnoxious and my mom ended up kicking them out 💀 then I remember it like it was yesterday, The Streak ended, 21-1 and I bawled my eyes out. My mom was pissed because we bought Mania for years to watch Taker put on classics. I even remember the year prior wanting Punk to break it so bad but Brock, nah Brock was not the guy to twelve year old me. Not even D-Bry winning the title could cheer me up.
Pav i gotta say thanks man like seriously. You lit that spark back for me when it comes to WWE we are the same age & those nostalgia days for me watching Smackdown & Raw & PPV’s in the UK risking falling asleep at school the next day to escape from the world. I lost touch of the product around 2018-19! Until around the beginning of this year. You are the reason i fell back in love with the product and the sport. Im playing the games again, rewatching old PPV’s and matches! Thanks man honestly!!
No mercy 2007 was one hell of a roller coaster, I remember praying for triple h to be the wwe champion and after winning two matches, I was so hyped but it was cut short when randy orton won in the last man standing match.
You’re one of the most underrated channels out there. I grew up watching wrestling in the same era as you and hearing you describe your experience from watching this show gave me nostalgia. We really did have a great era of wrestling when we were growing up. Awesome video as always 👍🏻
I’d love to see you book a dual tag champ. Example: Chad Gable and Otis are Raw tag champs while Chad Gable and Jason Jordan are SD tag champs. How does Gable manage both teams? The partners can have a match with Chad as ref. It’s interchangeable with any wrestler as long as they have a good history with both teammates. Jey and Jimmy as champs with Jey and Cody as champs wouldn’t quite work because Jey and Cody don’t have that longevity.
Great video. This was around the time I got into wrestling for the first time, so this is pretty nostalgic. I don't think I saw this particular PPV though. I only watched whatever I could get my hands on, which wasn't a lot. I remember watching the Royal Rumble a few months after this, when Cena returned, that might've been the first PPV I watched.
shoutout triple h bro carried a whole ppv after the face of the company got injured with just a few days to prepare first match, middle match, and last match truly one of the greats
This was my first ppv my first live event. Got to see umaga in person sucks I didn’t get to see cena but got to see triple h. It was an amazing night and I won’t ever forget it.
For Wrestlemania 25 I told all my friends I was having a Wrestlemania watch party but never told my mother until the day of mania. She was cool about luckily and I got away with a Wrestlemania party
I remember my dad’s friend at work used to record them for me and drop them off Monday morning at the house. I would watch a little bit before school and the rest when I got home before Raw
Wrestlemania falls around my birthday so every year that’s what I would ask for for my birthday so I got to watch ever Mania from 17 till now I have never missed one live. I remember getting to order The Great American Bash when Randy faced Dusty and being so angry that Randy had one.
Honestly, No Mercy 2007 was my first intro to wrestling as a kid. When I was visiting my grandparent’s house, I saw the DVD cover of the pay-per-view. I would never forget seeing Prime Orton holding a dove in a dark moody backdrop. Might not be the best intro to wrestling as a child. But, it did its job.
Growing up in Europe I never really was able to watch much WWE except Smackdown every so often when my parents were asleep and I managed to get to the TV at 2 a.m. But my dream back then was to one day finally watch a PPV live but seeing as I was a kid and my parents never allowed me to stay up till like 4 a.m. and spend €40 for it I never managed to until I was an adult. But I remember sometimes being able to buy some PPVs (probably at most 4 a year) on DVD especially No Mercy 2007. I think I must’ve watch that DVD like 10 times. And by chance I actually found it two weeks ago while moving out of my parents house! I watching it again about 4 days later for the first time in at least 10 years. And now you do a video on it. What’re the chances??!!
i totally relate when you had gotten one PPV then having to bargain and get better grades to get the next one. i feel you brother. it truly was a time to be alive having to spend like 60 bucks just to watch what we can watch easily nowadays
Funny enough I have a similar story about SummerSlam I believe, the one where Cena broke his neck from Batista bomb counter. I was devastated ,because I had begged my parents to buy the PPV too. Good times.
I feel you pav I remember going to my grandmas house in 2019 my dad could not get the WWE network there so he ordered survivor series 2019 TLC 2019 royal rumble 2020 elimination chamber 2020 and both nights of WRESTLEMANIA 36
I still remember watching WrestleMania 28, it used telecast a week after the pay per view happened here in India, and my elder brother actually showed me the match between The Rock and Cena on RUclips a few days earlier because obviously it already happened, and I watched Cena losing that match, but I never believed it, I was in denial until I actually watched him lose to the Rock, and got heartbroken all over again, amazingly there was a wedding function of my different elder brother in my house that day, but of course I didn't give a shit about that and got scolded for it so bad😂, and still barely listened to what was being said to me because the show was still on, and it was a legendary show and it holds a very special place in my heart despite of the fact that Cena lost to the Rock
Funnily enough the first PPV I begged for was No Mercy 2002. Lol so much begging. I ended up watching it but also went depressed cause Brock Lesnar retained in the hell in the cell against Undertaker. I hated Lesnar as a kid!! Love your vids man!! Much Love.
I was born in 2004. And I'm 2014 I remember Survivor Series! Nothing crazy but we got Sting! We got my boy Dolph being the iron Survivor. Whole buncha crazy crap going on as a 10 year old and I was loving it. Dolph was truly a favorite during this time and his iron will was impeccable. Loved every minute of Survivor Series 2014. Never forget and on the newly WWE Network I'll never forget. 4th grade too
I fondly remember this one! Crazy times but they definitely were able to pull through the chaos and handled Cena's injury well. But let's be honest, did they really need to book Orton's first 2 WWE Championship reigns like that? Randy Savage Levels of Madness! 😂
PAV, This was my favourite of all the videos you’ve done. I’d really enjoy hearing more stories from your time watching wrestling as a 9 year old. I loved hearing you calling everyone “idiots” and “crackheads” but my favourite moment that made me pop was when you called this your 9/11 and that John Cena was basically dead. XD LOL.
Hey brother! Thank you so much for the kind words, truly means the world. I’m glad you enjoyed. A lot more content like this coming soon with more of a personal touch 🙏🏼❤️
2007 for me wasn't the best time in my life personally but it definitely wasn't insane time for. Probably the last year where WWE still had balls. Then all the mess that happened which is a good reason why WWE had to make some big changes not to our liking but changes that would be beneficial for the well-being of the superstars.
I remember buying this about 3 years after it happened, at bulletproof games and comics on Flatbush on DVD. Remember it like it was yesterday, and had Shawn Michaels' return the night after as a bonus
I stopped watching wwe in 2007 but even though I was watching every WWE PPV from 2007 since reviving watching WWE again, WWE turns this very mixed bag PPV into one of the memorable WWE PPVs of the 2000s.
My PPV nightmare was Backlash 2009. What John Cena was to you, was what HHH was to my brothers and I. We were scarred for life after Randy kissed Stephanie. And we were happy when HHH clamped him at Mania. You should have seen us cry. Like REAL TEARS. After not only did Team Orton win the title at Backlash, but he gave HHH the punt kick. We thought HHH was dead with all the medics and stuff. And to make things worse, Edge, the most hated guy apart from Orton, beat Cena with help from the Big Show. We didn't know the name of those pyro machines back then, so we gave it our own names. We genuinely thought Cena and HHH were dead. Hey Pav, it'll make my life if you do one on Backlash 2009
Gang I remember this like yesterday. I found out the next night on raw to find out what happened to John Cena due to me showing up to my friend's house late. I I feel you I was pissed to find out about Cena but I enjoyed the show it was confusing at first to see Randy and triple h start off the show but once you catch up and realize what happened it all makes sense and I enjoyed it ⚡
Wanted to try something new, by mixing a Storytime with a Retrospective.. Hope you guys enjoyed ❤️🥰

More like triple pay
Didn’t Chris Jericho return or something that night ?
@@namtrof01 he returned on November 19th
The fact all 3 of those matches were WWE Championship matches too probably meant something for the pay that night too

Sounds like you had a good mom who knew that “silly wrestling” made you and your friends happy. God bless her
Facts i was blessed to have a mom who was into wwe herself she took me my first live show my 1st ppv ill always lover her for that
My kids better like WWE bc that’s gonna be me jajaja
"Who the fucked watched ECW?" Me a very impressionable kid like yourself who was just happy to have a 3rd night of wrestling during the week 😂😂😂
When I heard that I said hey fuck you! Little 10 year old me liked ECW and cm punk
No Mercy 2007 was easily one of the most unique and most awesome PPVs I have ever seen as a kid. What’s crazy that Randy Orton using his rematch clause to win the belt on the same night is the only time in WWE history someone did that
It was great for the kids who had been waiting all year for cena to drop the title
I personally wanna see more story time with Pav. Those are my favorite ones :)
Cena had a dominant WWE title run in late 2006-mid 2007 and it’s a shame that it ended with Cena vacating it due to a torn pec.
And to think for the time a 380 day title run felt like years and years. Now Bianca, Roman, even Gunther all have longer runs with titles than that

Edge and cena was better

I feel so bad for Kid Pav. He deserved better
I feel old haha Wrestlemania 17 was the first ppv I got to order as a kid.
I remember my parents ordered this ppv randomly. We never ordered any ppvs.

Hey Pav, it'll make my life if you do one on Backlash 2009
Wrestling was awsome when you dont have spoilers all over the internet. Just watching on tv
I remember buying this show on DVD right when it came out
Gang I remember this like yesterday. I found out the next night on raw to find out what happened to John Cena due to me showing up to my friend's house late. I I feel you I was pissed to find out about Cena but I enjoyed the show it was confusing at first to see Randy and triple h start off the show but once you catch up and realize what happened it all makes sense and I enjoyed it ⚡
14:48 Im in full agreement... This felt like it added prestige to the title
