Russillo is so on fire on this pod but CR and Simmons knowing when to get out of the way and let him go ISO really helped. Also underrated was Simmons cracking CR up with The Shines stepdad bit, and Simmons and CR cracking up when RR has Cris dating Steve Levy.
This is the single best performance by any guest/person on this podcast ever. Ryen walked into this extremely prepared. Real “THIS IS WHAT WE PLAY FOR” energy.
I'd never heard of this guy before watching the WOWS video yesterday (and I've only just discovered any of the Rewatchables for about the last 2 weeks), and I loved him on that, he's hilarious
I fucking love him all the time just brings the heat. But ya I'd have to agree he was just on point the whole time... I'd say this is just him hanging out with the boys letting it go
Russillo from 1:02:00 to 1:03:40 talking about the dating scene in Boston is the funniest bit I've heard yet from any Rewatchables episode. "He's a bank robbah, but his truck is pissah". I'm crying laughing over here.
"I also think there's some redundancy with him [John Hamm] and Affleck." "How so?" "Just tall, handsome white guys." Beat "I thought it was going to be deeper than that."
The last ten minutes of this pod is some of my favorite content ever. I wish they’d do some sort of Boston history podcast almost like drunk history. Never laughed out loud harder!
always find myself coming back to this, russillo is the best. apex mountain of the rewatchables, love that he, simmons, and ryan are all from/have spent time in boston.
Whenever I am having a s****y day, which is more frequent than I would like, I either rewatch this video on RUclips, or listen to the podcast again, and just laugh for an hour and a half. Russillo is gold!
Russillo had one of my favorite lines from anything I've ever heard on an episode of SVP. When Cabrera was about to get the triple crown and there was a debate about whether he should sit the last game to protect his being average, Russillo delivered this line about Ted Williams and how his dad told him about why he played that last game - Russilo said, "When I was a kid, my dad told me three things. Always stand up for yourself, be nice to your sister... and when Ted Williams had a being average of .39955, and they told him if he sat the last game, it would round up to .400 in the record books. Ted told them, 'Screw that, If i can't hit .400 straight up, i don't deserve it.' He went 6 for 8 in that lay game and ended with a .406, because THAT'S WHAT MEN DO." - that whole thing fucking floored me.
You left out the hands down best line of the film “I’m just trying to make the thing f***ing authenticious! It’s you who’s got it all f***ed up!” “Authe-what?”
The Town is currently #14 on iTunes movies. I was looking for something to watch last night and saw it there along with all the new releases. I can only conclude that this pod lead a lot of people to rent it, including me. Impressive that this pod moved the needle that much!
He is in nirvana this entire pod. Like Bron at the Garden in Game 6. Unreal. His line about The Atlantic's "We Still Don't Know How To Talk About Murders From Boston" is out of this world.
Don’t you think the end of the movie is a nod to Shawshank. Buried money, tangerine to tell Claire where he is, Doug on the water, boat next to his house.
Word on the street (?) is that Affleck and Blake Lively went to -Town- while filming the movie. So having his wife on set could have been kinda awkward i can imagine.
This is my first time watching this as opposed to listening, there’s something to be said that CR has a laptop, Bill has an iPad, and Russeilo has a legal pad, it’s perfect
Best opening preface quote entering a movie of all time .... "I was proud to be from Charlestown. It ruined my life, but I was proud." Well, other than A long time ago in a galaxy far away ....
I have been waiting for so long for them to simulcast rewatchables! Really enjoy hearing but also want to see their reactions to these films. Bill and Ryen are my favorite guys from ESPN.
A very underrated bank heist movie that never gets mentioned - 1990's Quick Change. It's not so much the actual heist that makes this movie great, but rather all crazy side characters that the bank robbers had to deal with in the aftermath.
Spent every summer at my cousins in Charlestown , my cousins are in the movie, the place has totally changed now , everything is different, it used to be so raw and full irish , I could only describe it as IRA Belfast , full of first and second generation Irish immigrants, everyone knew each other, everyone had each other backs , now there’s so much of new high income professionals in the area it’s killed the rawness!!
One thing I love about this film is how Jon Hamm is both a total ass but also never let's you forget that he's on the side of good. It lets you root for the bad guys without losing a moral center.
Russillo is throwing 101MPH for 9 innings straight in this pod.
And then a filthy breaking ball in a Banana Republic button down.
MrBismarck the thing I really like is that I’m pretty he isn’t in love with Blake lively, he’s in love with Blake livelys character from this movie.
@@Bleh67420 Kris.... not a dude.
"Whateva, ya losin' ya hair....fuckin weirdo"
This is like Pedro taking a perfect game past 9 innings lol
if Russillo isn’t nominated for an oscar or emmy for this episode, we riot. an all-time performance
Shut up.
A lot of people give him shit, but he's a fantastic guest, just let's it all hang out.
1:43:12 is when he really starts to cook
I come back here every so often to witness Ryen’s greatness
It's a hardwood classic
Russillo is so on fire on this pod but CR and Simmons knowing when to get out of the way and let him go ISO really helped. Also underrated was Simmons cracking CR up with The Shines stepdad bit, and Simmons and CR cracking up when RR has Cris dating Steve Levy.
1:42:50 Russillo's oral history of Bostonian heritage is incredible. This is the best thing I've ever heard.
This is the single best performance by any guest/person on this podcast ever. Ryen walked into this extremely prepared. Real “THIS IS WHAT WE PLAY FOR” energy.
the joe mazzula of podcasting
I'd never heard of this guy before watching the WOWS video yesterday (and I've only just discovered any of the Rewatchables for about the last 2 weeks), and I loved him on that, he's hilarious
This pod must be Russillo's apex mountain!
Absolutely, he went off
I fucking love him all the time just brings the heat. But ya I'd have to agree he was just on point the whole time... I'd say this is just him hanging out with the boys letting it go
In his sick banana republic button down untucked
The Rewatchables apex
This was awesome, this reminds me of the stuff Van Pelt and Russillo did with the pulse of the nation on ESPN radio a decade ago.
I’ve listened to this podcast probably 10 times cause of Rusillo
Ok. So I’m not the only one.
Nope
i still miss rusillo on the radio at around noon
Same. He’s awesome.
I've watched it more than The Town.
"Sometimes the madder guy wins." ~ Ryan Russillo 40:10
I think I've watched this more than the actual movie at this point
Russillo from 1:02:00 to 1:03:40 talking about the dating scene in Boston is the funniest bit I've heard yet from any Rewatchables episode. "He's a bank robbah, but his truck is pissah". I'm crying laughing over here.
So funny
How many banks have you robbed? 6. 3-5 trucks. Have you killed anybody? No. In! 😂😂😂
Simmons should be alone
I still watch/listen to this episode constantly it’s a true rewatchable
"Shyne is not a dealbreaker" - Russilo bringing the HAWT takes!
Kobe 81 performance by Russillo. Unconscious. On fire.
Ryan has a higher efficiency rating.
Can we have a new Podcast? "History with Ryen Russillo"
Him talking about Boston guys during the Revolution was incredible
Only if he Has his sick banana republic buttondown untucked
He actually just did one ☝️
Every year or so I come back to watch Ryen show the world how professionals work. Top tier work.
I've watched The Town twice probably. But i've watched The Town Rewatchables at least 20 times.
They need to do a Rewatachables of this Rewatachables.
😂😂😂
Easiest “who win the pod” and “apex mountain”
Russillo is absolute gold in this, actually made me lol multiple times 😂😂. Glad Bill got him on board, now let him do his thing.
I cried @ Steve Levy comment "hes on TV, we get sick B's tickets"
"I also think there's some redundancy with him [John Hamm] and Affleck."
"How so?"
"Just tall, handsome white guys."
Beat
"I thought it was going to be deeper than that."
This is 1:48:19 of Ryen Russillo throwing flames. What a guy!
Wow, thanks for the video pod again, these are fantastic
This is my fav rewatchable. Russillo is hilarious the entire time. The Boston accents are off the chart in this pod!

OMG. The Steve Levy reference had be burst out laughing while at work.
I come back here a few times a year to just listen to Russillo absolutely kill it.
My god Russillo is untouchable in this.
GAWD*
I love that these are on RUclips now!
the history lesson was so good lol we need a russillo history podcast please
Rusillo is making Bill and Chris laugh harder than i’ve ever seen them laugh 😂
@52:00 had me dying😂😂
I heard mlb wanted to make that (seen) for 3 an a half hours
Scholars would argue....it was based on Jem from To Kill a Mockingbird.
This is the A-game Tiger talks about.
So can we get Ryen on drunk history? That was hilarious. Thanks for posting video of these.
Got rid of dem dudes, let’s head south and staht takin ovah.
“I thought it was gonna be deeper than that…”
Russillo was just on point. Like the Tom Sizemore of podcasts. For him the podding is the juice.
“A day bud bottle is something else.”
-Rye Guy
This could be the greatest debut on the Rewatchables of all-time, shout-out Russillo!
Rusillo’s ascension to greatness 50:00
He is just unconscious in this. Hall of fame
Jon Ham’s character is not from Boston, the F.B.I. is a National organization ;)
5 year anniversary of one the most iconic pop culture performances ever from Russillo
That bit with Rusillo at around 50:00 is too funny
that shit had me rolling
That one and the one @52:00 had me weak asf 😂😂💀💀
The Greatest ReWatchables EVER! Ryen we will find Chris for you
Already listened to this -- now just fast-forwarding to the parts where Chris is absolutely dying. This was an all-time pod.
I’d love to see a clip or the whole thing if you have a link by chance
Russillo NAILS it with his reference to the REAL Blown Away with Nicole Eggert
could be the greatest episode of this pod
This is, hands down, the best episode of The Rewatchables EVER FACHKING MADE.
Make this again.
29:09 and 35:20 Ryen is on fire! 48:00 for his Blake Lively performance
I revisit Ryen talking about Kris here at least once a year! He cracks me up every time! 😂
This is the greatest podcast of my life.
“I thought it was going to be deeper than that”. Russilo crushes Simmons.
Peak Russillo this entire episode!!! 😂😂😂
whenever ryan fired off a heater he just sits there and smiles while the other two piss themselves, what a hero
Need Simmons to bring his wife on the pod to tell that fight story
“Dog Day Afternoon is overrated.” Homie is taken down a notch for that
Love when he grabs the soda and drinks his last drink before getting shot in the head
You left out the hands down best line of the film “I’m just trying to make the thing f***ing authenticious! It’s you who’s got it all f***ed up!” “Authe-what?”
Russillo played all 48 minutes and had 48/12/10/4/2 on this pod
1:27:50 might be one of the funniest things ive ever heard
“I’m not going back to jail…”
I fucking love Russillo.
Film the Bill Simmons pod!!!!!!!
The Town is currently #14 on iTunes movies. I was looking for something to watch last night and saw it there along with all the new releases. I can only conclude that this pod lead a lot of people to rent it, including me. Impressive that this pod moved the needle that much!
Hi 👋 yea yea sorry 😊 😊😊🎃🎃h🎃🎃🎃ônb🎃u🎃
Hell or High Water didn't make top bank heist movies?? Russillo!?
Better than all of the films they've mentioned
I got a better one imo I loved much more the Italian job....I think ppl forget how good that movie is
Italian Job and Hell or High water are 100% top 5 bank heist movies.
Ryen Dominated this POD.
Ryen Rusillo Shares Boston Historical Heritage might be the greatest unplumbed podcast to date. "Nice Linen Unifohm, weah-do!"
He is in nirvana this entire pod. Like Bron at the Garden in Game 6. Unreal. His line about The Atlantic's "We Still Don't Know How To Talk About Murders From Boston" is out of this world.
“What doesn’t kill you” should make the best Boston movie list
My favorite rewatchables. I've seen this countless times. Comfort watch.
I feel like Ted should have been in most improbable Fenway scenes. A teddy bear came to life and then died. In Fenway.
Best podcast episode of all time
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched this.. Russillo is on 🔥
*Ryen Russillo should do more rewatchables!!*
Don’t you think the end of the movie is a nod to Shawshank. Buried money, tangerine to tell Claire where he is, Doug on the water, boat next to his house.
Always thought that, myself
The Town, for me is absolutely phenomenal. Just seems so real, unlike any other film.
I always come back to this for a good laugh
The thing about Adrian Lynne almost directing before Ben steps in is interesting as now Lynne is prepping to direct "Deep Water" starring Affleck.
is there way podcast where ryen just does a podcast on that boston history he talks about at the end
that apartment would absolutely have a washer and dryer
The joke about the Atlantic article got me good
He’s on fucking tv and we get sick B’s tickets!! That shit had me rolling for real! 😂 😂 😂
Lively is literally playing my baby's mom... no bs, n her name is cris. Spot on.
Infernal Affairs is the basis of the Departed. Two thumbs up
“It was so underrated to the point that I think no one actually liked it.” - Russillo on ‘Focus’
Russillo is scorching hot in this one
Best line in this movie is… “Who’s car we taking?”
I love heist movies and this is one of my favorit after HEAT
"The to do list for this pod is incredible"
“What do we understand about this set?”
What Rusillo said.
Word on the street (?) is that Affleck and Blake Lively went to -Town- while filming the movie. So having his wife on set could have been kinda awkward i can imagine.
So were they hooking up or something that it would be awkward? I just don’t understand what’s awkward about having your wife.. just asking guys?
This is my first time watching this as opposed to listening, there’s something to be said that CR has a laptop, Bill has an iPad, and Russeilo has a legal pad, it’s perfect
Best opening preface quote entering a movie of all time .... "I was proud to be from Charlestown. It ruined my life, but I was proud."
Well, other than A long time ago in a galaxy far away ....
The font reminds me a little of the one Blade Runner uses
Hell or High Water is a Mt Rushmore bank heist movie
I have been waiting for so long for them to simulcast rewatchables! Really enjoy hearing but also want to see their reactions to these films. Bill and Ryen are my favorite guys from ESPN.
A very underrated bank heist movie that never gets mentioned - 1990's Quick Change. It's not so much the actual heist that makes this movie great, but rather all crazy side characters that the bank robbers had to deal with in the aftermath.
Watching for a third time because of Russillo!
Friends of Eddie Coyle, again so overlooked. Thankful that these comments are definitely aware of this
Keep the video pods coming!!!
“It took you 9 times!!?” 😂😂😂
One thing I love about this film is how Jon Hamm is both a total ass but also never let's you forget that he's on the side of good. It lets you root for the bad guys without losing a moral center.
LOL i just realize thanks to you guys i watch the extended cut
the Friends of Eddie Coyle disrespect is amazing. Eddie Coyle needs a Kobe stan.
If Fennessey was on this pod, he certainly would have remembered.
I think Spotlight deserves to be one of the best Boston movies too. Talks a lot about the cultural divide between outsiders as well.
I know your comment is two years old, but they've done Spotlight as a rewatchable!
