Many immigrants leave Canada within years of arriving
according to a new study. More than 15 percent of immigrants decide to leave Canada either to return to their homeland or immigrate to another country within 20 years after admission as permanent residents.

The point of this video is to create awareness. The problem immigrants face in Canada . The reality is that, due to Canada’s aging population, the Canadian government wants young people to migrate to here. However, the employers or the companies have a different requirement. Canada needs money and wants young hard working people to sustain their economy. Each individual brings over at least 10K Canadian dollars when they immigrate to Canada. Settling into the country involves multiple expenses such as renting a house, buying winter clothes, food and transportation expense etc. So the immigrant starts spending money the day they land in Canada. It takes 3 to 6 months to understand the country, geography and make connections and friends.
The employers in Canada however, are reluctant to hire new immigrants. They give excuses such as you don’t have “Canadian experience”, “you don’t have local education”, “you don’t have professional license” etc.
Canadian experience is a ‘chicken and egg’ problem. Unless someone gives you a job, you can’t have Canadian experience; and unless you have Canadian experience, no one is ready to offer you a job. This scenario puts the immigrants in a limbo; they become disheartened, demotivated, frustrated and desperate to get a job as savings start depleting rapidly with the high cost of living in all major cities in Canada.
Aware of the problems faced my immigrants, there are many employers who take undue advantage of the hard working sincere immigrants. They are offered a job with just minimum wage salary. They are made to work extra hours without being compensated for it under the pretext saying “You are lucky we have hired you, the job market for newcomers is not good”. The helpless immigrants keep working hours, months and years with no work life balance, no time for family, and ultimately not enough money to survive the high cost of living in Canada. No, immigration is not some magic pill for solving all the problems.

Don’t know about Canada but here in USA house prices minimum $450K. You will get cheaper houses like old ones or have to compromise on school districts (no Indian parents will do that). I don’t think Indians will go back to our country after getting GC in USA after waiting 15-17 years to get it.

My dad worked in singapore and hong kong. He was in oil and gas. He made lots of money there and made the smart decision to return back. We bought an apartment in Mumbai and built a house in Kochi . He said the thought of immigrating permanently to these countries or Australia never crossed his mind. These countries are only for making money. Not for living permanently. You wont be considered as one of them. If you are ok with being a wannabe firang trying to fit in and obsessed with showing off and materialism then you may consider moving permanently. Other than that these countries dont have much to offer.
P.S- to those who are old, dont worry about your age. My dad went abroad at the age of 48. So dont lose hope. Good luck.
I 100% agree with you . Especially Australia canada have no culture and life . They have wilderness but no life to experience. Most Indians living IN US, Australia AND CANADA are live a flashy life but the reality is most of them are living paycheck to pay-check no retirement savings

I am currently seeing this with a couple of my friends. Parents complaining of loneliness and that kids don't care about them. I know of a couple of cases where kids have abandoned their parents all together to live selfishly only for themselves. But ultimately everyone has to plot their own course in life. So what to do. Just carry on.

Racism and caste system are universal problems. Market economies are more successful in dealing with these issues. Having said this, in the end, people have to make personal choices suitable to them. (This guy is promoting emigration from North America by sitting in North America).
This study is done by government of Canada. The point of this video is to create awareness not to discourage anyone from coming here. Don’t come here thinking life is easy as the immigration agency sell for profit. The problem immigrants face in Canada . The reality is that, due to Canada’s aging population, the Canadian government wants young people to migrate to here. However, the employers or the companies have a different requirement. Canada needs money and wants young hard working people to sustain their economy. Each individual brings over at least 10K Canadian dollars when they immigrate to Canada. Settling into the country involves multiple expenses such as renting a house, buying winter clothes, food and transportation expense etc. So the immigrant starts spending money the day they land in Canada. It takes 3 to 6 months to understand the country, geography and make connections and friends.
The employers in Canada however, are reluctant to hire new immigrants. They give excuses such as you don’t have “Canadian experience”, “you don’t have local education”, “you don’t have professional license” etc.
Canadian experience is a ‘chicken and egg’ problem. Unless someone gives you a job, you can’t have Canadian experience; and unless you have Canadian experience, no one is ready to offer you a job. This scenario puts the immigrants in a limbo; they become disheartened, demotivated, frustrated and desperate to get a job as savings start depleting rapidly with the high cost of living in all major cities in Canada.
Aware of the problems faced my immigrants, there are many employers who take undue advantage of the hard working sincere immigrants. They are offered a job with just minimum wage salary. They are made to work extra hours without being compensated for it under the pretext saying “You are lucky we have hired you, the job market for newcomers is not good”. The helpless immigrants keep working hours, months and years with no work life balance, no time for family, and ultimately not enough money to survive the high cost of living in Canada. No, immigration is not some magic pill for solving all the problems.

But for youths, Medical staffs can find good well paid jobs in US, Canada, Europe, work till retirement.
In India, we are also paying tax for each penny we earn, above 3.5 lkhs . And above this, 4 to 28% of what we consume, buys, service received. Plus 1% to 2% cess. Even for life saving medicines and medicines for terminally sick patients. This tax is used to pay off the 3% of our Population, to our service provider, (suppose to) Govt employees, their salary , perks and pension and if anything left, some road maintenance and cleaning.
My nephew, MS is structural Engineering, Doctorate holder , now in Canada. Again persuing his studies and working on line. Decided to return to India after 2 years of stay. He feelt, he can have same income, back in India. why stay in another country with few restrictions and uncertainty.
