Excellent interview Alex. At 68 myself, I was wondering if I am just too old to retire to the Philippines alone. So I especially enjoyed and got value from this conversation. After two difficult and stressful marriages, and this along with 50 years living in New York City, and the last 17 in Israel..two places filled to the brim with, angry, triggered, and mostly unfriendly and entitled folks...I think I need a change. I KNOW I need a change. I am friendly, ultra polite/respectful, and as well, very much admire Philippine culture and people. I am a fish out of water here in Israel, seen as something of an anomaly, yet a perfect fit for the Phills. However, at 68, I wondered about my chances for a successful transition. Thanks to both of you fine gentlemen, I possess a degree of clarity I did not have previously, and hope as well. Now, I just have to get moving on my plans. All the best! 😊👍

@michaelh8167 Hey Michael. Sorry, even after 17 years here in Israel, my Hebrew is still quite poor. I hope I did not offend you, or anybody else for that matter. Many fine people here in Israel. Some of the best I've met anywhere. And also many good reasons to live here. My children are very happy here. It just simply doesn't work for me. I have a laid back, live and let live approach to life. I am polite and respectful to a fault. I find that here in Israel, this is often misinterpreted as weakness, and one is cast the frier. A sucker. Not something I wish for, so I maintain constant vigilance, and watch my back. Being a friendly and easy going guy, I find this posture tough to maintain, artificial, inauthentic, and ultimately, stressful. Not the way I wish to live any longer. And now that I am coming up on retirement, I don't need to. The Philippines has a vibe I really synch with. Polite, friendly, and respectful. Lots of genuine smiles. Plenty of laughter. And comraderie everywhere one turns. Anyways, that been my experience....and I like it! Once again, I humbly apologize if I offended you, or was otherwise unfair. Israel has much to recommend itself, and on so many levels. Just not a good fit for me. The Philippines really is. All the best Michael. Chag Sameach. Shana Tova achi.

This guys doing it right. Live your life. Be happy. Don't take responsibility for someone else. If you HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE, why allow someone else to make you responsible for them?
Im here in Baguio! You can make a good living with under 1000$. I’m around 800$ right now. Ordering food, using cabs, bringing your clothes to the laundry, eating out, going to the cinema, making trips in the area. I don’t have a car. If you like the beach, you can go for a little less than 5$ back and forth to la union in under than 3 hours. The only downside about Baguio is that you should have a dehumidifier especially in August when it’s very rainy. Otherwise you might risk mold.

Thank you 😁
Wow, still living a full life.
Wow, good for him, I hope he hits 100 !

This guys doing it right. Live your life. Be happy. Don't take responsibility for someone else. If you HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE, why allow someone else to make you responsible for them?
That was really inspiring for anyone around the world....
Great interview, love your approach, questions and video& audio quality of your shoot.
Thank you! I'm glad ypu enjoyed it!

@@Livingabroadalex G NOT B 😉🤐🤫
@bobbysangels5778 you are a G Bobby!
Thank you for the advice!!
Young men:
Stand up and salute this legend 🫡. He just revealed to you the secrets to life.
Wll I bet he's not standing and saluting much
We could all learn a lot from this gentleman, he should have a YT channel!
He has now passed away.
@@Livingabroadalex Oh.... sorry to hear that, its nice to know that he lived life to the full though! Thanks for the video, you are good at interviewing imho.
@GeordieFX I agree and thank you 🍻
@@Livingabroadalex My pleasure Alex, it was Les who's channel is Retired Living the Dream (in Thailand) who referred me to your channel. All the best!
@GeordieFX pretty cool! Thank you and welcome 🥳
He got more social media knowledge than my 87 year old mom. My mom lives without internet and got an old flip phone. Enjoyed watching this video❣️
Yes he's very sharp. Glad you enjoyed it
He seems happy and healthy. He has a zest for life. God bless him.
Incredible story Alex
Thanks! I Houghton so too. That's why I shared it and thought he deserves an entire video to himself 😁
Best part of this interview is:
1:55 and 4:35 WOW 🤩

I'd happy to still be alive at 87!
Good storyline enjoyed it. Thanks brother.
It's wonderful to hear other people stories...I bumped into your channel when you feature Gregg
Thanks and erlcome to the channel
He is amazing, so positive in life focusing on the upside
Thank you very much❤
He is 87, and living is the best life in the Philippines.❤❤
Incredibly rare person to interview. Interesting.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊
What an interesting man.
I hope I am as alert as him if and when I reach 87
I hope so too!
Im happy that my silent query has been answered .I watched him initially on his first interview with EMHAS with Marc ,possibly almost a yr ago .I was wondering what happened to him.I thought he returned home to England . Im really amazed of his intelligence .I travel globally and its always highly stressful catching many connecting flights in several airports .Just to arrive safely in Manila was a miracle for him .then,to Dumaguete was another story . I really admire his tenacity at his very young age !
Young age indeed, only 13, counting down to 100.
He's American, not English.
@@malibaymanHe said he was in the Royal Air Force for four years, so he’s originally British.
87 and single , that is one happy dude .
This man looks so alive! Healthy mind, healthy body, how can’t he not live over a hundred. Hope he does!
First video I've watched. Legend. Loved this guy, what a life story.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Have him back! Great interview!
I love this guy he is very honest… he got distracted hehehehe
Haah true
I remember 20 years back speaking to elderly in my customer service job and often to WWII vets that remained and loved HI after being stationed or passing through there. Then 15 or so years ago, it started to be the widows I would speak to.
Great interview! I wanted to hear more about his diet!
Great video, he reminds me of my dad,
