When you're 55 and know you did every move here and even more in 1985 and your arthritis kills you today, sucks. So sad when we get older. Enjoy skating as long as you can in life, folks. It's a short trip on earth.

Truth!!
I have early advanced osteoarthritis and it’s a lot to come to terms with, especially when you see other people doing things you still want to do. It started at 40, disability at your age and it’s spread throughout my spine and hands now at age 62. There’s nerve interference when it’s inflamed. It took a while but eventually I got so tired of my own self pity that I decided to focus on the things I can still do. That’s when I saw that community and love are actually what most makes (skating and) everything in life fun. We can still do that part, and that idea helped me to feel somewhat like myself again. I continue to bellyache about it because it’s hard, but I don’t feel like my life is over anymore and I hope you don’t either. You’re not even very old! Joy still exists for us and for so many who share physical challenges. Go get it ♥️

It's sad when we were younger we never listened to our parents about getting old

@@kathyhames2200 I still think we are a little better physically than our grandparents. I couldn't imagine them roller skating. I was shocked at Ms Mable who is 90 with a boyfriend in his 60's. She credited her longevity to a clean lifestyle. Never taking drugs, alcohol or consuming pork.
The whole point of skating is having fun. That was 50 yrs. ago for me. Love this!
I am an 80-year-old white woman and I spent my growing up years wearing my mother's shoe skates that had wooden wheels. Best years of my life. Wonderful seeing these youngsters and oldsters doing something wholesome and fun. Just gave up rollerblading. 😂

Praise God you can get down at 81. One of our Teachers rolled until she was 90. She was an Artist also 😊😊❤

I'm 66 and spent most weekend evenings in the winter at the skating rink during grade school. Loved it. I have watched a lot of these videos of skaters and it's great! Looks like they're enjoying themselves.

Man, I am born and raised in Memphis. I live in Las Vegas, and I just happen to see this video. This does my heart well to see my people enjoying themselves like this. Brings back memories. Proud of my city simply because of this video.

I am glad they are upholding the skating culture with a fresh twist..I remember good times in the late 70s as a kid every body loved to go to skate centers listen to music and have fun.sick of all the bull these days we need that old school stuff.

Yeah this was nostalgic. Saw some people from our generation in their still holding it down. Great to see. BTW the demographic changed a bit depending on which Airbase my mom was at the time (SD, NB, Germany) but this is what it was like everywhere- skating and hanging out. Glad to see it still exists in some places - thought it had went the went the way of the drive-in theatre.
