Having broken the world record in 2006, he was expected to win again in 2008 Olympics. Sadly, he suffered from a serious injury which forced him to withdraw at the preliminary round...

This was probably the best set of Olympic pictograms. It represented culture and was universally understood.

Yup. Liu Xiang was an icon during the days, likely second to Yao Ming.
