This was probably the best set of Olympic pictograms. It represented culture and was universally understood.

Anyone noticed that the sample gold medal was carved with the name of Liu Xiang (the gold medalist of 110m hurdling at the 2004 Olympics )?
Breaking the world record in 2006, he is expected to win again in 2008 Olympics.
Sadly, he suffered from a serious injury enforcing him to withdraw at the preliminary round...
Yup. Liu Xiang was an icon during the days, likely second to Yao Ming.
For me Beijing was the best Olympics in every aspect..!!!

MrDelvoye this logo is the chinese character 京 (jing in beijing,bei=north,jing=capital),and “beijing 2008” is using chinese calligraphy instead of European calligraphy.
i liked the beijing 2008 candidate city phase logo more...beijing 2000's too.
