Thank the Lord I got that IT degree years ago, or I wouldn't know half of what was being said in this video.😅 I'm returning to digital art after years away. This video laid things out and broke down the steps so well.
I have been looking everywhere for this info! Thank you so much for this! I have a few Webtoon ideas I wanted to start working on but kept getting stuck on the actual file sizes, layouts and specs which made things VERY frustrating. It was like wanted to draw a picture but having no idea what size or even type of paper to use even though everything else is set and ready. Thank you again for this!!! ❤
Oh my goodness this was so super, super helpful; you literally answered my question from yesterday. Is that the reason you made this? 😉 Thanks so much for breaking that down; this tutorial is the best by far...you're the best!!
I think you mean JPG. JPG is a computer file type for images. You'll need an art program to draw your Webtoon comic images. A good free computer program is called Medibang. For a phone, there is Ibis Paint. Once you draw your image, comic, or thumbnail you export it as a JPG file. Then you can upload that to Webtoon. I created a bunch of videos that explain the entire process from writing to drawing to uploading. ruclips.net/video/3OmsodjjvrQ/видео.html
Walter, I absolutely love your videos! I have been writing webtoon back and forth and never get to stick with one thing. So I thought I can use the opportunity of lockdown to actually start writing properly. But I never got the motivation to do so. Not until I discover your videos, and I've been doing a marathon on your videos. You inspired me back again and now I'm more motivated than ever! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your comment. It inspires me to keep making videos, really happy they are helping. And congrats on getting in there and getting it done. Can't wait to see your work.
Thank you so much for this video! I have a question about entering the competition, do you think popular Canvas creators should enter the competition? I feel like they have an advantage due to the fact their fans would find their comic and give them more likes and comments compared to others how haven’t made comics before.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Engagement is only 30% of the score and Webtoon makes it sound like engagement isn't just a numbers game, it's weighted. So even if a creator is already popular, that doesn't make their story good. Which, like Maiwnad, is 70% of the score. So having a million readers won't really help you win. Don't worry about the numbers, they don't always mean what we think they mean. Just focus on your comic and engaging with your own audience, no matter the size.
I just wanna say that I love all your videos. I found out about the short story contest like a month or 2 ago and I felt like that was like a big opportunity. I wrote the script but I've been so scared to actually start the drawing process😂. I came across one of your tutorials like at 6am and didn't even sleep that night to begin with. But your vids are very helpful😭and I appreciate that🥺💖🙏🏽

Great video as always! Do you have any tips on staying healthy when making webtoons such as exercises/breaks? Im starting to feel back pain already and would like to know how a professional handles this :)
Oh man, making comics is so physically demanding. I've been thinking about making a video but wasn't sure if anyone would care. So I am glad you brought it up. I will do a video. In the meantime, getting up every couple of hours, walking in place, small stretches, drinking lots of water.
I love your template, I usually just build in one long 800 px wide by infinite area - but I like your template idea for seeing it all at once. How much space do you leave for bleed?
Hi! I'm the one that had commented on your other video, just wanna say thank you so much for all the tips regarding webtoon, I felt so happy now that my short story webcomic was finished, now it's just a waiting game until the winner announcement! Anywayy, I want to add one tiny bit of info for when you upload webtoon files (as I have checked there are no other sources mentioned it yet CMIIW), was that we can only upload max of 100 pages/files per episode (regardless if the total file size is still less than 20GB) Hope it helps the other creators!
If you are drawing your webtoons with a tablet, get the app Desktop this app lets you get the publish button when you upload a chapter all you need to do is upload an image thats it. This is far easier than using chromebook or computer.
This video was super helpful! I'm trying to switch from illustrator to procreate, but I've noticed that lines in procreate at 800x1200 px are super blurry and pixelated. Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to do several strips on a bigger canvas and then split them into one long strip like you do?
I haven't tried drawing much in procreate, it's a cool program though. It may be blurry because of the brush that you are using. You may need one with a finer, sharper tip. I just tried using my procreate and used an inking brush and it looked fine and sharp. I used technical pen. Try a different brush and let me know if that helped.
Walter Ostlie Thanks so much for replying! I tried using that brush, and it only looks sharp and clean when the pixel count is a lot higher than webtoons requirement of 800x1280. Do you think I would be better off using Photoshop instead?
Is the 800x1280p limit a mandatory requirement or can the height of the page be changed? I have the 800p width down but all of my pages are 1060p high, and I've been wondering whether or not this can be released without webtoon changing the quality or restricting submission.
Walter, even if I wanted to publish comic/manga for the kindle or thinking of those being read in cellphones. Should I still use the webtoon format, just 1 or 2 panels per page??? (as KDP Unlimited pays me for amount of pages read instead of panels)
Thank you for your advice. You've made this process so much easier for me. I do have a question: I tried uploading my webtoon by Making several 800 x 1280 files, converting them to JPG and then publishing them together on WEBTOON, but when I publish them, they don't look like they're in scroll format. You can see the dividing line which clearly shows the division of files. It doesn't look like it's all in one vertical scroll format like most webtoons do - if that makes sense. I think I'm going to try the other method you'd mentioned (which involves using Croppy). But thank you!
Bro! Help me out! The 800px wide makes my building look a sand tower, the shape, the lines go completely fuzzy, how am i supposed to draw, im so freaking confused, like wth

Awesome video! Do you have any tips for coloring? The full color process is so excruciating and time-consuming. I know they’re a little techniques that can make it shorter, But hungry for a video, Or even a few timely tips.
Hi Walter, thank you for your very detailed explanation, I really appreciated it very much. I have a question. I am making my own personal project, but I don't have the aspiration to make it public. I would like to know if there is an app where you can upload these strips and read them privately, without publishing them on the platform. Thank you very much for your help 😊👋❤️
As always a very helpful and informative video! Now I have a question: Which file format is the best if I want good quality on webtoon AND if I want to print my comic in the future? Is there an optimal size for both? Thanks for your help!
I have a question: Is there a way that I can upload a page of my series in landscape orientation? That might seem like an odd question but the way I do it is by drawing each page by hand on an 8½x11" sheet of paper then scanning it onto my computer for a couple further steps before I upload it. I just need to know if I can do pages in landscape for a "big reveal" moment before I draw it
Great tutorial! but I have a few questions. 1. Why do you put the panels into small chunks of panels before putting them into the final 30k*ish px final product? couldn't you go panel strait to the final or even draw the panel itself on the final? 2. I think I saw some people drawing at 1600px width then shrinking it after to 800. is there a reason you don't do this or you don't think it's needed and you can draw easy enough on 800?
1. It's really hard to scroll around on a 30,000px tall file. Some of my files are in the 70,000 range. 2. The size of the canvas will depend your personal style and how much you want to be able to noodle in tiny details. 800 is the minimum for sure. maximum is whatever your computer/software can handle. Also if you plan to print your comic, then you will need to think about the print size. Every 300px is about 1 inch of high-quality print resolution.
Maaaaan...ur helpful. One question.... Do u remember me? Oh and another question, i find backrounds daunting, andd im sure nearly everyone esle does, sooo umm well im not trying to find the easy way out here but is there a way complex backrounds can be a bit more simpler that they are?
Wow...that was quite fast....... Hehe, i just wanna show people that i do watch their videos and support them, and thank you sooooo much for agreeing on making a video dedicated to backrounds, i cant wait! Thanks for making comics an easier job for others @Walter Ostlie
i'm using paint tools sai it just kept bothering me that when i zoomed in a little it would be pixelated because when i read webtoons i zoom in sometimes and the quality doesn't lower as much as mine so i was afraid that when someone reads mine and they zoom in it would be too pixelated or is it only important that it looks good at a 100%? again thank you
It may depend on the brush you are using or possible how paint tool sai works. I drew this comic at 900px, so you can check the quality of the lines if you want. However, all files are being shrunk down to 800px, so the pixel quality ends up being the same even if you draw at 3000px. The easiest thing to do is draw a bunch of lines using your different brushes on an 800px canvas, create a fake webtoon comic and upload it. You can see what it looks like for real. Then do a 3300px canvas, down-res to 800px and upload it. Does it look any better? Should be a quick test to see what works best for your setup. But yea, if drawing at 3000px+ feels better for you, there's no reason not to draw that large if that's what works for you.
I know this video was made a few years ago, but im currently entering webtoons 2022 call to action contest and was wondering how many panels could fit when compressed? You said 100 is the maximum option for a normal episode if its long but is there an acception to contest entries as long as i compress the images? Would about 120 panels be the limit then?
Thank u for explaining. But still dude , idk but when i post my good quality pages on webtoon , afterwards its looks fully pixelated on webtoon . What do i do . My canvas quality is 300 dpi . Did u go through something like this when u first posted too?
One question, so I have the template for Krita and was wondering how would I copy it and merge it into one long strip? Is there anywhere online where I can search?
This hurts my brain and I still have no idea what is happening. Too many numbers not enough explanation on how to make the template, etc. I'm honestly panicking I want to launch my comic prelude on my birthday and it's very close and I still have no idea how to make a long strip comic. I also have a different type of comic layout, more classic less modern so I don't think even the long strip method will work.
hey there! your videos have been a great help as i'm doing a webtoon for the first time. I'm wondering regarding the file size - is there a recommended dpi? i have no idea what's too big or just right :')
Webtoon allows you to upload 800px wide by 1280px tall files. So at the very least, you want your canvas to be at least 800px wide. Since webtoon is vertical scroll, the height of the file doesn't really mean anything, it could go up to 80,000px. So 800px wide is the miniumum. Now if you go larger than 800, you can get some finer line detail, how much larger will depend on your still, if you do a lot of detail, you'll have to have a bigger canvas so you can do fine lines. If your art is very simple, than 800 may be enough. The other thing is printing, do you want to print it? If so than you may need higher resolution. It's a lot of information ;-) I think the safest best is to do around 2100 pixel wide. DPI doesn't really mean anything when you are doing digital art. But just for fun, set it to 300dpi, it will tell your printer some information. hope that helps.
@@walterostlie thank you so much for the detailed response, it definitely does!! Would it be alright if I asked if you could check out my webtoon once I've got a chapter out?
Super helpful as usual One question though..when you first draw your panels, do u use the same pixels required by webtoon, like you know u want a smaller panel, like 500×300 px..so u draw with this px or you use higher pixels and then import your photo into the required 800×30000 panel u use? I Don't know if you got my idea..but I i want to draw the panels separately then import them into a long 800× whatever the length of the episode would be..so do I use higher pixels then adjust them later to fit my long panel so that the resolution is better or do I just start with the required px?
Totally get what you're saying. I used to draw my webtoon in 5 seperate files. Each like 3300px by 30000px. I would fit as many panels in there as I could. Usually like 6 or 7 panels with room for gutters and lettering. I'd then shrink each of those files to 800px wide and copy them into a single file that was 800px by 30-60,000px tall. However, now I am just drawing it at 800px wide to start with. 800 pixels is still almost 3 inches of print resolution, pretty good for a single panel. 3300px is 11inches of print resolution, which is crazy for a single panel. It just depends on your plans for the artwork. I detailed my new method, you can see it in this playlist. Look at the PANEL and LAYOUT videos for the information you want. Also in this video here, I do a super quick overview of my process now ruclips.net/video/1rDMHstkQ0s/видео.html This is my older method using 3300px wide art ruclips.net/video/S3rVFG19e4U/видео.html Let me know if that helps.
@@walterostlie You wouldn't happen to have that one in a Riff Format by chance would you? I don't have PSD but I have Clip Studio Paint and Corel Painter 2019. Hey, I just bought your template on gumroad but it's different to what you show in the video. In the video the individual columns are 800px wide which is what Webtoon needs but your columns in the gumroad template are 1000px or so wide. This isn't going to work for webtoon?
I do have a question about the template. Each page is 800 px like in the video remplate but the actual template is 1000px. Is that okay to use 1000 or do I have to alter that?
Hi!!! Love your videos!.I wanted to ask you something. Would you recommend posting the whole short story all together rather than posting one episode and then another after a few weeks. I feel like a short story is much better enjoyed when you can read the whole thing in one sitting, and one episode is so short. I want to get your opinion on this :)
I've been thinking a lot about this, and I don't know if I have a good answer. There are pros and cons for both methods. I talked with someone else who posted all 3 episodes at once and they weren't super happy with the results. They are doing a second comic and are planning on Posting 1 at a time. However, with so many comics being posted, it seems like it would be good to have all of them posted so people will read all three and not just forget about you a week later. I think most Webtoon readers expect a weekly schedule, so it may be smart just to stick with that method. However most webtoons also launch with 3 episodes to start with. I was thinking if you have a total of 3-4 episodes, maybe post 2 to start. If you have five, post 3 episodes to start. Kind of a toss up.
Hi. When i try to copy a column and paste it into the vertical page it doesn't show up after pasting. What am i doing wrong? Thanks again for the vids.
What program are you using? If it's ClipStudio, it may be one of two things. First, you're not selecting all the layers you want to copy by holding shift and clicking each layer you want to copy. The other thing is it may be pasting the image off the canvas. Zoom out pretty far and then hit ctrl-t to transform, if you see the transform box appear off canvas then just move it onto the canvas. If it's photoshop it may be that same problem with pasting off of the canvas. The other possible problems is that the the file sizes are different and you didn't resize the original image, so it's really small or really large.
@@walterostlie im using clip studio on a surface Pro 6. I will try selecting the layers I want copied (ive got a wireless keyboard), and hopefully that works. Thanks for the quick reply!!😻
@@walterostlie Ok so now with the layers selected, it is copying and pasting onto the new window webtoons format page. But it appears that the original column is too wide so its being cut off once i paste it. Im having trouble resizing it to fit😭 Do I go to the original image and convert the size there, or can i resize it once i paste? Thanks again!!!!
@@Pheyora Are you using my method/template? If so, those red areas on my template are for bleed over, that stuff is supposed to hang outside the canvas. Or is it really really too wide, like half the column? If, so maybe your second file isn't big enough. If you are trying to do my method, this video explains that whole part in detail. ruclips.net/video/vpkxBm68k_A/видео.html
@@walterostlie well yes I had to already merge them and already thought of a way go tackle the problem but I was asking if this is the same for everyone. Thank you
How fast do I have to be able to draw to keep up with the pro's? I can pencil a panel in 15 min average. However inking and coloring takes ages... My style is already very simplistic so I worry I can't keep up.
If you look at the Original series on Webtoon as pros, they are doing an episode every week. Which is around 40-60 panels. Some get up to the 100s, but lets not worry about them. So you'd have to be able to do 40-60 panels a week. They also have buffers which means they have 10 episodes completely done before they even post the first episode. This gives them a little wiggle room, then they take a little break between story arcs/chapters.
I saw that. I don't know about the specifics. I am pretty sure it is invite only though. They also call it "relaunch" or something like that somewhere else. So maybe they are trying to bring back certain older comics. I don't know.
Did the process of you making the comic changed? casue in the previous videos of Webtoon Short Story Contest 2020 you copy paste the thumbnail into a new file and then you draw over it, but here youre doing everything in the thumbnail file?
Yeah. It just seems simpler to keep it all in the same file. In my old version I was also making the files huge 3300px, I think that was overkill. So I've shrunk my files down, and stuck them all together. It's going to depend on how much your computer can handle processing wise. If the computer is older, you may need to split files apart if you notice the machine running slow. I am still trying to figure out the perfect file sizes for my art style. More complex, highly detailed art will need bigger files, my art's more on the cartoony size, so I don't need as much. Prolly 900px to 2000px.
@@walterostlie THANKS! for the reply 😁, I think I will go for single files then cause I like using 3D models and my laptop cant handle all of them at once. Thanks a lot your videos have taught me tons!!!

Umh I new to webtoon and I wanna upload my story but whenever I upload the image of my story it always say "Vertical thumbnai must be larger that 1080x1920px the aspect ratio must be 9:16" I don't get it like my panel size is actually 800x1280 and I tried reducing and adding the size but it won't work, I work in my phone please help I wanna upload my story so bad 🙇
Is it ok that the size would be less than 800 x 1280 ? Because ive read that in the official rules and im not sure if it means you can only use files less than 800x 1280 or thats the size limit,. Please help..
You should use 800px wide at the very minimum. Never do less than 800px wide. Now the height can very. The file you upload to webtoon has to be 1280px or less in height. so 800px x 200px is fine, 800px x 1000px is fine. However, you entire episode can be more than 1280px tall. So you could make your comic episode 800px x 30000px. But you'd have to use croppy to split it into 800px x 1280px files. You could also make you comic 3300px wide and then croppy will shrink it down to 800px wide for you. watch this video for croppy information ruclips.net/video/8eMBWVrwDqg/видео.html
Croppy cropped my long file to 800x1000px. Looks like it converts the width to 800px automatically and the length will be divided into equal parts not exceeding 1280px.
I still don't understand anything about uploading to webtoon it's just so much work. I have a fixed canvas and saving into different files that's so complicated 😣
@@walterostlie sorry how can I measure that on an layer😅, cuz I gonna use couples panels as big (fighting/movements) than little panels for close up (to eyes or face)
I totally get that. Just make sure you jump in eventually. The best way to really, really learn something is to do it yourself. When you mess up then you extra really learn it ;-)
that size is high enough resolution for webtoon, it will look good. Are you running into problems? You can always create a fake test comic on webtoon and upload a test panel/comic and see how it looks if you're worried.
When you click on "I want this" it will open a new window, right above the credit card number box it says credit card info or Paypal. Just click the Paypal icon there and it should take you to Paypal. Thanks!
@@williebussell2749 That's weird. It should just take you to Paypal when you hit the Paypal button and you can use the pay with balance there. At least that's what it's doing to me. If you still want to support me, maybe ko-fi would work for you? Either way, thanks for trying and thanks for watching! ko-fi.com/walterostlie
Lots of answers for this questions. The bare minimun is 800px, because that is how webtoon will display it. So never go lower than than. Every 300px of resolution is equal to 1inch of hi-res print quality. So it depends on what else you want to do with your comic. Now most traditional print comics are done on canvas sizes of 3300px x 5100px. This is 11 inches x 17 inches of hi-res print quality. I can't really imagine why you'd need to go above 3300px wide for a single webtoon panel. 2100px is most likely more than enough for a single panel. ruclips.net/video/dIw-sUar9Lk/видео.html
Just a heads up if you're not very familiar with digital art and you wanna upload a webtoon, you should always save a copy of your work as a jpeg when you're done and keep the original layered file so you can go back and edit it or do whatever the heck you want with it.

Thank you so much for these videos!! I am currently working on my submission for the Webtoon Short Story Contest, and your videos have really been a step by step guide for me!!! Keep being you ! (:
Really glad to hear that! Thank you for the comment and good luck with your comic. Let me know when you post it so I can check it out.
I've been searching for this for quite a long time until I got here. Thank you so much. You explained everything crystal clear
When i was done with my covers and pages, the KB size was way too big, but thanks to your video, i saved time and lost stress. Now i can continue my work and upload my content. Yay. Thank you 💛

Thank the Lord I got that IT degree years ago, or I wouldn't know half of what was being said in this video.😅 I'm returning to digital art after years away. This video laid things out and broke down the steps so well.
Thank you! I've been wanting to get into comic making, got a story board written out but had no clue how to get started!
Hah, maybe ;-) Glad I was able to answer them. Good luck with everything!

Your videos are helping me with the contest! I hope I'll finish soon so that I can show you how much you've helped!
My pleasure! Can't wait to see your comic. Good luck.
If my comic blows up you're gonna be the helper who made this comic: mostly you
I think you mean JPG.
@@walterostlie thank you so much
All I, and many others, can say is...thank you 🙏🏽❤️
Thanks for hanging out, always appreciate you!
This is liquid GOLD thank you so much. The way you explain this and work makes so much sense to me too.
Thanks bro. I’ve always wanted to put my art skills to use.
Make it happen and show me when you do.
7:33 this template format is genious!
Thank you so much for this video! I have a question about entering the competition, do you think popular Canvas creators should enter the competition? I feel like they have an advantage due to the fact their fans would find their comic and give them more likes and comments compared to others how haven’t made comics before.
I think it's okay since 70% is given by the judges I think
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Engagement is only 30% of the score and Webtoon makes it sound like engagement isn't just a numbers game, it's weighted. So even if a creator is already popular, that doesn't make their story good. Which, like Maiwnad, is 70% of the score. So having a million readers won't really help you win. Don't worry about the numbers, they don't always mean what we think they mean. Just focus on your comic and engaging with your own audience, no matter the size.
Walter Ostlie thank you so much
I just wanna say that I love all your videos. I found out about the short story contest like a month or 2 ago and I felt like that was like a big opportunity. I wrote the script but I've been so scared to actually start the drawing process😂. I came across one of your tutorials like at 6am and didn't even sleep that night to begin with. But your vids are very helpful😭and I appreciate that🥺💖🙏🏽
Thank you very much! I hope you get to start drawing your comic soon. If you start and finish your comic, you'll come out the other side having learned a lot and become a better artist. I hope you finally got some sleep.
@@walterostlie yeah I feel its a very important topic for the long run.

right on, glad it helped. Let me know if you run into any problems and I'll try to help.
I love your template, I usually just build in one long 800 px wide by infinite area - but I like your template idea for seeing it all at once.
How much space do you leave for bleed?
There's about 100px between each column, so 50px each. Glad the template is working out for you.
Time has never passed so fast now that i am working on a comic for the contest, and i am scared that no one will read it
Yeah, having a deadline makes time go by really quickly. I'll read it!
Hi! I'm the one that had commented on your other video, just wanna say thank you so much for all the tips regarding webtoon, I felt so happy now that my short story webcomic was finished, now it's just a waiting game until the winner announcement!
Anywayy, I want to add one tiny bit of info for when you upload webtoon files (as I have checked there are no other sources mentioned it yet CMIIW), was that we can only upload max of 100 pages/files per episode (regardless if the total file size is still less than 20GB)
Hope it helps the other creators!
oopps my bad, its not 20GB, but 20MB
I found out about that recently as well. I wonder if they know they have a 100 file limit ;-) Good luck with the contest!
Thank you for this video ❤️ this inspires me so much

If you are drawing your webtoons with a tablet, get the app Desktop this app lets you get the publish button when you upload a chapter all you need to do is upload an image thats it. This is far easier than using chromebook or computer.
The Webtoon app on a tablet let's you upload big files?
Thanks so much for making this video!!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
These are such a good help for the webcomic im Woking on 💖
Thank you for your advice.

You could print it out. Thats probably the best option
As always a very helpful and informative video! Now I have a question: Which file format is the best if I want good quality on webtoon AND if I want to print my comic in the future? Is there an optimal size for both? Thanks for your help!
i'm thinking abt writing my first webtoon super scary cuz its my first time
i hope it will be fun
I have a question: Is there a way that I can upload a page of my series in landscape orientation?
That might seem like an odd question but the way I do it is by drawing each page by hand on an 8½x11" sheet of paper then scanning it onto my computer for a couple further steps before I upload it.
I just need to know if I can do pages in landscape for a "big reveal" moment before I draw it
Aye, good lord, finally somebody did it.
Hah, appreciate you.
Thanks for the helpful tips!😍🤩
God bless you, I was so confused!! You're a lifesaver, really, thank you very much 😊🤗
Great tutorial! but I have a few questions.
Hah. You're the wild commentor! Yeah, let me do a video about backgrounds soon. Thanks!
@@walterostlie thanks for the help G
Great information. Thank you very much for sharing.
This is great!! Thank you.
One question, so I have the template for Krita and was wondering how would I copy it and merge it into one long strip? Is there anywhere online where I can search?
I would also like to know this!
p.s. one chapter will only let you upload 100 files. I stayed below the 20mb limit but went over the 100 files limit so I had to end my chapter short
Yeah, found that out after the fact. They should prolly put that next to the 20mb max.
Thank you❣ It's very very Helpfull 😍😍😍😍❤
hey there! your videos have been a great help as i'm doing a webtoon for the first time.
Super helpful as usual
One question though..when you first draw your panels, do u use the same pixels required by webtoon, like you know u want a smaller panel, like 500×300 px..so u draw with this px or you use higher pixels and then import your photo into the required 800×30000 panel u use?
Also in this video here, I do a super quick overview of my process now ruclips.net/video/1rDMHstkQ0s/видео.html

Oh yeah, weird. It was in the description. Thanks for letting me know gumroad.com/l/xyIEs
This isn't going to work for webtoon?
thank you that was helpful
I do have a question about the template. Each page is 800 px like in the video remplate but the actual template is 1000px. Is that okay to use 1000 or do I have to alter that?
OMG THANKS 😭❤️
Oooh that's a good idea. My short story is 3 epsiodes long so I'll do that, post 2 epsiodes first. Thank you so much for the help!!!!
question can i submit my comic on June 30 or do I have to make all the chapters right now and build an audience?
Yeah, you can submit on the 30th, but sooner the better I'd think for audience and just in case you lose internet on the 30th.
@@walterostlie are they gonna have more contests in the future?
I hate this KB and MD thing because my drawings are too detailed and the image is too heavy, and I can't simplify the art :(

100 files?!? Wow. Why so many? Can you combine some of the files together or are they already 800x1280? Do you have really large panels?
@@walterostlie well yes I had to already merge them and already thought of a way go tackle the problem but I was asking if this is the same for everyone.
Thank you
@@maiwandraheem282 Yep, same for everyone (at least on Canvas !)
Can comics with PNG files be featured in webtoons? o.O
yeah, that doesn't matter.
@@walterostlie awesome!!! thanks for telling me!!!
Great videos!
Thank you very much. Let me know if you have any other questions.
What font do you use? Ive been looking around but all that I find are pretty costly and some of the download sites are pretty expensive
Check out blambot. Tons of free professional comic fonts. I use out of line from them. Which I think is a free onr. Even there paid ones are cheapish
There is some on webtoon called webtoon green light. I was wondering can anyone join it or is it only specific to a group.
I saw that. I don't know about the specifics. I am pretty sure it is invite only though. They also call it "relaunch" or something like that somewhere else. So maybe they are trying to bring back certain older comics. I don't know.
Could you leave a link to what brushes you use in clip studio
I'm just using the basic textured pen that comes with ClipStudio. I only modified for my specific pressure levels.
instead of 800 by 1280 can we have 720 by 1280
Can I make just 2-4 page only per episode?

"Vertical thumbnai must be larger that 1080x1920px the aspect ratio must be 9:16"
I don't get it like my panel size is actually 800x1280 and I tried reducing and adding the size but it won't work, I work in my phone please help I wanna upload my story so bad 🙇
I guess it's because your image is not 1080x1080 ? 👀
@@walterostlie Thank you so much for the help 😊💕
Croppy cropped my long file to 800x1000px. Looks like it converts the width to 800px automatically and the length will be divided into equal parts not exceeding 1280px.
Exactly.

I still don't understand anything about uploading to webtoon it's just so much work. I have a fixed canvas and saving into different files that's so complicated 😣
Once you do it once or twice in slow motion, it becomes pretty straight forward.
Thnk youu, btw how do I know how big my panel will get on phone?. I have many action movements in my story so it's kinda important 😅
Your phone screen will be about 800 x 1400px when displaying a webtoon comic. So if you go over 1400 you won't be able to see the entire image.
@@walterostlie sorry how can I measure that on an layer😅, cuz I gonna use couples panels as big (fighting/movements) than little panels for close up (to eyes or face)

Thank u for your videos!! It helped me ALOT
Do you know how to thumbnail in krita? Need to know where the image will split
Watch that other video you commented on, it should help you do panels in Krita. It should be very similar from clip to krita
For the WEBTOON contest i did 900 wide by 4500 tall from your how to draw WEBTOON video.is that ok or will I have to start all over again?
that size is high enough resolution for webtoon, it will look good. Are you running into problems? You can always create a fake test comic on webtoon and upload a test panel/comic and see how it looks if you're worried.
Thank you for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it!!
i dont use a credit card but i use paypal... how can i buy your PS template without going through credit card additional on the purchase...
When you click on "I want this" it will open a new window, right above the credit card number box it says credit card info or Paypal. Just click the Paypal icon there and it should take you to Paypal. Thanks!
@@walterostlie it still asks for credit card number and expiry date... i tried 4 times... :-(
@@williebussell2749 That's weird. It should just take you to Paypal when you hit the Paypal button and you can use the pay with balance there. At least that's what it's doing to me. Not sure why it's not working. I appreciate you trying though. at least you can get it for free, hopefully that won't ask you for a credit card. Just enter zero for the price. If you still want to support me, maybe ko-fi would work for you? Either way, thanks for trying and thanks for watching! ko-fi.com/walterostlie
Why jpeg is not good. Please help.😢
What resolution should I keep my comics at?
Seconding this question, after I couldn't find the answer in any of the videos.
