You just stumbled upon one of rock's best kept secret. Hum is sensational! Check out their latest album Inlet (and likely last after the death of they're incredible drummer Bryan St.Pere last year.) Heavy as fuck, but so melodic... And all their albums are great as well.
Was so sad to hear about Bryan. He was the coolest nicest guy you could ever hope to meet, and would talk shop with you and totally enjoy doing so! And yes, the new album is incredible.
Hyped to see people find HUM. Green to Me is another great song of theirs. They have several amazing albums. Took a super long like 20 year break and dropped a new album during lockdown
Definitely! I remember they had one that got regular radio play and then years later I went back and listened to it and I love it. There's a whole space theme to the songs.
Shocked me to see anyone reacting to this song. Great band, great song and I saw in the comments someone said they werent around anymore, false. They have reformed and are working on an album right now. This type of rock is considered by many to be shoegaze or hardcore space rock which I dont care for that description. The entire album is great, they have an awesome sound. Another similar band if you like the sound is failure. Great road trip music, playin loud and driving fast. Good choice!
Their new album dropped in 2020. They are likely over since their drummer passed away last year. They have done reunion shows without him in the past but I doubt they’ll ever work on anything new but never say never.
Not really shoegaze or space rock, but some of their songs do have elements of both. Back in the 90's I just considered them alternative, or Midwest grunge...but they were really just a garage band that got signed and had a hit single.
One of my ALL TIME faves, if not my absolute favorite band ever (just to give a hint at how much I love them, once when I was debuting with a new band in 2005, my wife who was my bf at the time, brought me a bouquet of daisies before the show, cause she knew that would totally give me a huge smile of inspiration...it worked!). When this song first came out, I was just learning how to play, and I couldn't get enough of it! I must have jammed their songs 1000 times by now. They are amazing live, and were super cool to talk to after the show. Other great songs by them include, Diffuse, Iron Clad Lou, Why I Like the Robins, Suicide Machine, The Pod, LIttle Dipper, and I Hate it Too
Blast from my past! These cats were from Champaign, IL (also Alison Krauss, REO Speedwagon, and The Poster Children). Seen them quite a few times (i live about an hour south of Champaign).
Wow man I've been watching your stuff for a while now and I never thought that you would listen to hum this takes me back my very first concert as a 12-year-old was Bush on the 16 Stone tour with hum and the Toadies as the opening acts me and my two friends my mother and their mothers went to the show at the edge in Orlando This is the Pinnacle of mid-90s instrumentals heavily inspired by the smashing pumpkins vocals doing some kind of a cross between everclear and Radiohead Thank you so much for this seriously thanks bro
HUM is one of those hidden gem bands of the 90s. They’re the “heavier Weezer” Checkout a band from the 90s called Failure. Similar to HUM and phenomenal 🤘🏻🔥
Im listening to this with double muff ear phones now, not even good ones. This is the first reaction video I've listened to like this. HUM / Stars... .one of my favorite 90s songs back in the da7 (( lived it back then )) :) Odd that all the sudden this obscure alterative band is getting this much attention ..so rad. The rest of their album rocks but is very chill compared to this song. Why I mentioned the headset I'm wearing. For the first time since this song was new, count up the years, I am hearing the background voices behind the lead singer. Great upload man, thank you!
Lol, song didn't drop a few years ago...unless almost 30 years is a few😂 I saw them live in a club in Dallas around 96-97, and their music is perfect for smaller venues. Stars was a minor radio hit in the 90's, then revived in the mid 2k's when Cadillac used it in their TV ads which kicked off during one of the Superbowls (08-09?)
Early 2k memories of this song and the girl I was with at the time. We loved this song. Hahaha my love of the song far outlasted my love for the girl hahaha. Good to see you back TM cool vid. Take care everyone.
Downward is Heavenward is my favorite album. Dreamboat, Isle of the Cheetah, and Green To Me are all bangers. Although the more I listen to Inlet, the more I love it.
this is definitely an overlooked and forgotten song. I still rock out to it.. also, this song came out in '95, not just a few years ago.
This whole record is amazing. The next one is even better,
Sorry guys, youtube blocked the video so I just cut it and kept the audio, be back tomorrow 💯🔥

YES, great song, Green to Me. Also LOVE Diffuse, Iron Clad Lou, Why I Like the Robins, Suicide Machine, The Pod, LIttle Dipper, and I Hate it Too.
Their new album is so good! RIP to Bryan their drummer too. So glad he was able to record that new album with them before he passed.
I love love love this album. Underrated gem of the 90s

Hum is the most underrated bands ever

Oh yeah, LOVE Failure and great comparison by the way!

@@bezdekdelatte I definitely miss Bryan. He was seriously the nicest coolest musician ever.

If you like Hum you’ll love…
Failure, Shiner, Sunny Say Real Estate, Riddle Of Steel, Menthol/Mother, Whirr…and more
The amount of amazing bands in the space rock/post hardcore genre is like a gold mine
I'm with you on that Sunny Day Real Estate. I'll add in The Afghan Wigs.
Slightly younger generation, but there is also The Joy Formiddable. Start with their song, Whirring

I saw the same tour but in Springfield, Missouri.
I remember that tour and not being able to go cause of work! Glad I got to see them at least once though later on, and actually have a nice chat.
HUM is one of those hidden gem bands of the 90s. They’re the “heavier Weezer”
Checkout a band from the 90s called Failure. Similar to HUM and phenomenal 🤘🏻🔥
“Trippier” too given their Shoegaze elements 🤤
Love Failure
I came back because this song is just so damn good. Its in my top 25 easily.
Bro, so glad you reacted to this one. Never see anyone react to it but it’s a great song. Whoever supplying these ideas is awesome too
Love this! Check out “I Hate it Too” by these dudes if you’re so inclined. Bless you! ☮️💟☯️
Great song! Love playing that one.
Love your reaction, and thanks so much for covering this band. You killed it. Peace!
MONSTER song!!! 😎😎😎💯💯💯
If you wanna explain what the 90's were? THIS is basically all you need to play!
I literally jumped.... Hope everyone's well tonight!
One hit wonder. Song came out in the mid-90’s. Was definitely a banger.
holy crap! i haven't heard this song in over 20 years, thank u for reminding me!
Same here. I forgot how killer this song was/is.
Love seeing a HUM fan being born.
“Some of these visuals are so strange bruh”
Welcome to the 90s 😵💫
It's been an age and a half since I heard this. Still sounds good to me.

HUM is one of the most underrated bands of the 90's. If you like space rock like this check out Failure - Stuck On You and Another Space Song by them.

warms my heart seeing you listening to my fave band ever!
This song kicks so much ass. Massively underrated band
Hell yeah. Good old high school days.
Fun song to play on guitar too.
💗
💘🐖🐖🐖
Oh yeah. Beavis and Butthead did this video. They think the song is 30 seconds long and change the channel.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is an all-time great riff.
Great reaction!!! Hum is my favourite band. Another great song of theirs to react to is Green to Me.
Downward is Heavenward is my favorite album. Dreamboat, Isle of the Cheetah, and Green To Me are all bangers. Although the more I listen to Inlet, the more I love it.
Damn!!! You reacted to Hum? This is pretty dope
So glad to see you back dude…was wondering why you stopped making content. Welcome back 🙏
Honestly touches when I see someone checks out my favorite band and gives the band some love. Man would you check out Hum - Puppets?
Heavily tattooed Grandpa here! Yes it is 🤙
This song absolutely rips
Ayy, another good song! It's pretty much a one hit wonder as far as I'm aware, but definitely worth the fame.
Nice! My favorite song of all time!
I liked when this video was on Bevis and Butthead. Butthead goes "I mean it sucked, but at least it was short"
the best song ever!
Daisies was his girlfriends dog
You have found the greatest band of all time
Great Song
This was the shit back in the day...1995
Hum Shovel!
Good song pick! This entire album is fucking amazing! This was a early 90s band. They aren’t around anymore.
Actually, they are. Their 2020 album was incredible.
💙
❤️💛🧡
Classic

Teez, is this the video with the tattooed guy?
Yes lmaooooo
@@TeezMcGee, lol! Flying under the radar? Told you I'd watch in a separate tab!
Music for shrooming...
Their album “inlet” on shrooms…that was an out of body experience into the superclusters for me
John Martyn please
