- Rachel and I were really excited when we found the Folios cheese wraps but the problem is they are a little expensive. In this video, we show you how to make your own for less than 20 cents a wrap.

I just made them with mozzarella cheese. For less clean up I put the cheese directly on the paper then microwaved it for about 25sec., took them out and put them in my tortilla press (between 2 sheets of paper or one folded over). Super easy, almost perfect circle and very thin. I made enough to refrigerate. I'll try a different cheese next time. Thank you for the video!
WOW WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!
Fantastic! I now have a use for my tortilla press, which has been redundant since I went carnivore. 😁
What a great idea!
I never bought the folios because they were so pricey for just cheese. But now I can make my own. Thanks for the video!
Thank goodness it wasn’t just me searching the earth over for these. Will make my own. Thanks!
You all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Abraham Bennett Instablaster =)
@Alessandro Hamza thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Alessandro Hamza It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Abraham Bennett happy to help =)
THANK YOU >>>Love these
1 & 1/2 oz shredded cheese in silicone bowl
Mic 20 - 30 seconds ...Mix w/ spatula
Spread on Parchment paper in circle
Place 2nd parchment paper on top
Roll over it ( w/glass or rolling pin)
Put in Frig 1-min
Peel top paper ...Crisp on Parchment 40-60 secs
I just made my first fauxlio with this method, and all I can say is: WOW! This idea is a winner. Same great eating experience as the branded product for much less money.
To make a perfect circle, take a large pan lid with a lip edge on it... the kind that you could use to cut out giant cookies. Put some coconut flour on the counter and put the lid down on the flour to coat the sharp edge so the cheese doesn't stick to it, then put the lid down on your rolled out cheese. Turn the lid gently until it cuts through the cheese and viola! You have a perfectly cut circle.
I'd never be able to get these folios over here in Iceland so THANK YOU. You've literally just added even more variety to my diet😍
Joe, your DIY folios recipe is a game-changer! Thanks for sharing this genius hack - saving money and enjoying homemade goodness. Can't wait to try it with my favorite cheese
Thanks Joe ! It would be cool if you share how you have used your homemade folios. As a wrap, taco etc. :-)
Now I have a reason to use my tortilla press..... trying these tonight.
Genius idea!
Let us all know how the tortilla press works for these. With or without parchment paper.
How did it work?
I was thinking the same thing
Thanks for sharing. I shied away from buying them bc of the cost.
And I just paid $30. For 3 packages at Amazon. Can't wait to make my own. Thank you so much.
OMG! Thank you for this!! I was buying Folios at Trader Joe's for $3.99 a pack, but they stoped stocking them. I found them at another grocery store (not so) near by, but they were charging 8 dollars per pack! What a great hack:)
🗣 THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Cheese wraps are a STAPLE in my house - I pick up 2-3 packs every time I get groceries.
This video showing up in my recommended list is PERFECT TIMING!!! Because I just finished doing some of my meal prepping for the week, in which I shredded a couple blocks of cheese. Guess who's making her own wraps later today 🙋🏾♀️🤤😂
Now you can make the, yourself!
I'm sure the Folios dont get rolled perfect, they probably cut them into circles post production then melt the remains to go full cycle.
Thanks for the great idea. I'm going to try making these. When the melted cheese is still in a bit of a soft state I'm going to use my tortilla press to try shaping a 'ball' of cheese into a flat round.
Just recently got introduced to the expensive store bought, came looking for copycat. GLAD I FOUND YOU. Thanks a million. I’ll save a million !! And make my variety and size and thickness
I live in a small town and our local stores do not carry anything like cheese wraps, I would either have to order online or drive out of town to pick them up so this is great, thank you ❤
3:40 dog is like: Did someone say “cheese”?
ALDI has a pepperoni cheese that is wonderful. Gonna try this out. 😊
Lol what Aldis do you people frequent? My Aldis never have any of this keto friendly stuff that everyone online talks about.
This is THE BEST. They are ridiculously expensive
This showed up in my feed two days after I attempted to make cheese taco shells from both shredded cheese and a folio. Thank you! You have saved me a ton of money because I love using folios as chips.
I wanted a variety of cheeses for these wrapas. So glad I came across this video by accident!
Thank you so much! I’m in Japan and these don’t exist in stores at any price so I appreciate this very much!
Great demonstration, thank you, what a game changer eh! It just shows how much money these companies are making with this racket, the shop price does not justify the cost of the ingredients, even with packaging, shipping & advertising. Keep up the great work.
That was a lot more than 30 seconds. LOL
I will definitely be making them though, I usually just melt a thick slice of round deli cheese in parchment paper for 15 seconds, I've NEVER used shredded.
I’m going to try using my tortilla press!
If you make it into a circle/ball then use pressure on a chopping board to flatten it, you will have a perfect circle. We don’t get these in the uk, I’m excited to try them! xx
Wow 🤩 is right mixed an assortment of shredded cheeses then add spice blend melted sorted pressed refrigerated then into microwave and CRISPY CRISPY YUM
Looked everywhere for these in the Uk! Forget it! Thank you man! Will start making immediately.
That was super helpful! I really really appreciate that! I bought those wraps yesterday & a bag of 4 wraps were for $10 here in Canada (in Safeway) that’s crazy! Also, I found some weird black things in the wrap that grossed me out. I’m going to try your method tomorrow- super excited! Thank you!
I’m glad I saw this video before buying folios on Amazon. Over $3 per folio on Amazon.
Good idea. I made a couple recently, I just used the same cheese put a handful on a cast iron griddle and used a silicone spatula to spread it around. Kind of like a pancake I flipped it once it browned a bit. Very cheesy, lol. Now I'm thinking after your video of using our tortilla press with the paper 👍
Might I suggest getting a silicone rolling mat with the circle templates so when you put the parchment down you have a basic shape to go for? Thanks for the video!
Thank you ! Who knew these were so easy to make...you! Totally appreciate the video!!!
Easy to make! I used a brick of sharp cheddar, came out perfect! I also tried this with swiss, again- came out great! I always love finding ways to save money! I was literally looking up where to find Folio wraps when I found your video, thanks a bunch!
Thank you very much!!
Best wishes from your german keto friend
Oh!!!! Thank You So So very much!!! You have helped me so much! I sent my husband looking for the Folios today with no luck and gas at 4.95. You saved the day! And even I can make these!!!!
Although we like being able to buy these at Costco for $1 each wrap for convenience, I am excited to try different cheeses thanks to your recipe!
I wanna try with pepper Jack. Mmm
Just made this with the cheddar. Awesome. Thanks.
Thanks! I wondered about doing them myself! Jack cheese would be great for tacos!
This is a winner. I refuse to pay for them so never had them. sure, will be making them very soon. ty
Thanks for this. I'm looking forward to trying it. I assume someone else has already pointed out that your math is wrong. With 1-1/2 oz per wrap, 32 oz of cheese will make about 21 wraps. Still way cheaper than Folio wraps, however.
We have the same rolling pin!
😀
Great video!
Hi. I found these at aldis. I agree, a dollar a piece is too much. Thanks for this video!
Just tried my first folio wrap this week and it was pretty good but this is SO MUCH BETTER!!! Thank you 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you, yes today 3 years later!!!
Love this!! Thank you! Did I hear somebody say ENCHILADA!! 😊😋
Making them today. 👍👌
Great copycat, thank you. =)
I think your math is a little bit off though. I think you multiplied when you should have divided. At 1.5 oz each, a 32 oz bag of cheese will make about 21 fauxlios at a cost of about 33 cents each. Still a huge savings over the cost of the original.
Yeah, I was wondering about his math too. Lol. At 1.5 oz how the heck is 32 going to make 48.
Fauxlios 🤣
Here I thought I was the only one that caught that being an ex financial executive.
I was thinking of making my own. Never thought about the microwave. I was thinking of melting the cheese in the frying pan. I might have eventually made it to the microwave. You saved me a lot of steps and headaches. Thank you. I am headed to the store for some cheese !!:)
Thank you….thank you….thank you!!! I have been looking for folios for months now! Knowing that I can make them for pennies is absolutely awesome!!!👍
My Costco carries plenty of the folios but I love saving money especially in these inflationary times. I would avoid the potato starch, however. And the cheese you shred yourself tastes better!
Good job Joe!
You can take a square piece of cheese and put it in a nonstick frying pan and it comes out perfect.
Thanks so much...so simple and easy! Rachel is so blessed to have you as a spouse!
I tried could bread and it was revolting.
I needed this
New subscriber
I can find them easily (harris teeter, aldie, wegmans) But they are expensive to me. So I am trying this. I do not have a silicone bowl so I think I'll try plastic. Thanks! I can't wait to try this!
Thank you,I followed your video and had a terrific supper!
Thanks so much to share your knowledges. So simple to do and at better price! Wow!!!
I’ve been buying these for my husband but now I’m gonna make them!! Thanks! Y’all are the best!
Thank you Joe for this cool video
Awesome sauce perfecto love your folios
Awesome idea. Thank you 😊 The Folio’s are way to expensive!
Smart hack! I will definitely try this👍
I use a non stick skillet. Plus a block of cheese vs pre shredded due to added potato starch
Joe... You have indeed saved me money. No way will I pay those prices " a fool and his money are soon parted"-Thomas Tusser.
I'm also really appreciating the pizza week series.
Makes no sense, if you can't afford it fine. A lot of people can.
Hi! I've never heard of these cheese "wraps" but can't wait to try these. You jus popped up on my playlist y'day. I SUBSCRIBED the sec I saw there was a way to make cream cheese @ home. Last Christmas or Easter maybe(?) doesn't matter...I couldn't find Cream Cheese anywhere!!! So frustrating. ;( That and I can control the ingredients. Win-Win!
Blessings from Iowa, L
Awesome!!!!!!! I love this. Your so right they are stupid expensive.
Thanks
This is wonderful. Thanks I’ve tried looking for them and I have found them, now I don’t need to search anymore
Thank you! Where I live in Canada, I have not been able to find these anywhere and I was curious to try them. The only thing I could use is a Silicone bowl which I can totally fine everywhere here lol. Thanks!
They're at Costco and no $7.00 Ours are 11.00
Thanks so much - love this! I would grate my own cheese, though, as pre-grated (and pre-sliced) has cellulose (effectively wood pulp) in it to keep the pieces from clumping together
100% agree. We are not beavers or termites
Great job! Thanks monica
Thank you
Hello ^^
To make them circle like, you must take a round pot and press to cut the border
next, you can recycle that and make new circle
the shape are not important, but if you have guest at house ; circle patern are best =)
Great day ;)
Thanks!
Thank u so much we have a Aldi's here in California like u said they are expensive now I don't have to try do make them the hard way I'm call u the keto life saver for all the good info I could not find the pancakes recipe are u on messenger to with your recipe I hope we all see more good ideas thank u so much have a wonderful day
Thank you!!
Awesome, because I live in the Netherlands and here we don't have em at all. But we do have a lot of cheese 😋
I made one!! So happy. Don't have a microwave, so I gave my saucepan a light coating of coconut oil and melted that cheese. The rest is exactly the same. Thank you again!!
Thank you!
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing 😊
Oh my Joe, thank you so much for this recipe. YOU AND RACHEL ROCK!!!!
Great tip, so easy...thank you.
Very very good!
Terrific to know! Thank you. Beautiful doggie. ❤
Well done ,thank you!
Thank you. I'm going to try this.
Love this. Thanks for sharing.
Wow thank you!!
I used a four cheese blend and wow! So easy and thank you. I won’t be spending that much again.
Thank you for sharing
Thank you!!!!!
Great idea and demonstration. This brings the cost down to a very affordable alternative. Now searching for a silicone bowl and will make my own version tomorrow.
I'm going to give this a try. Chances are, your circle shape will be better than anything I'll come up with!
Great video, I love to safe money, going to try them. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for this!
Thanks for the valuable info!
Great idea
Awesome.
Great video this will save me a lot of money
