Awesome tip sir! I work apartment maintenance and just had a water heater take 3 hours to drain when I was changing elements, This Milwaukee transfer transfer pump will be awesome!
Will the pump work when I connect it to my plastic drain valve that is not allowing water to flow through the hose due to buildup of sediment? The hole in these plastic drain valves are much smaller than with brass valves...my hose is dribbling very slow and would take hours to drain out. I even did a backflow flush and this didnt seem to breakup the sediment in the tank or near the drain valve.
Sorry for such a late response. The pull can still pull when it’s clogged but if it’s really bad then I drill a hole in the top portion of the water heater and stick a water hose inside and pull the water out that way.
That's a great question. I would flush the pump with clean water frequently. And if push comes to shove you can unscrew the panel with the glass and clean out the pump.
Okay sir, only issue I have is my hot water heater is in the basement with no drain/sink. There’s a window, and it’s above the hw heater, will the transfer pump still pull the water out? HW heater is dead, but it’s full. I got a new one some months ago, time to empty it and get it out my basement.

Just change the elements while the tank is still full. You aren’t going to lose much water at all if you do it quick enough.

Can it handle hot water ?
Yes I have used it to pump hot water out of the tank.
Keep up the good work. God bless you.
Thanks, you too!
Are you concerned about the sediment messing up the pump?

@@alittlebitofeverythinghome4333 Even better unscrew the T&P valve and feed a hose through there.
Put the link for the connections you have on it

It can. It’ll take a little longer than if it was flat but it can push water up
Yes it will work great. It will pump it right out.
You forgot to turn off the power of electric water heater at the service panel
