Pro tip: use corn starch when powdering your onion in the first step. The provides better adhesion of the egg wash and therefore better adhesion of the crumbs.

This was VERY GOOD!! Outback's version is SOOOOO Greasy!!!! It made the next day a trial! This one was terrific and much lighter!! My wife loved it!!! And the sauce is going to be my "go to" "Thousand Island" copy recipe- to me it tastes almost like it but much better! Every recipe I have tried from Coit have been terrific!

Use a BIG jar lid and put the base of the onion in it. the knife will not cut the root. Much faster in cutting the onion

Probably the best blooming onion recipe out there 😊✔️
But wouldn't it be a good idea to mix the eggs and flour in the beginning?
That could make the covering of the onion easier.
    Best regards 😊✔️

it's easier if you use a sieve to sprinkle the flour over your onion and the egg int9 a squirt bottle for an even distribution.

Work smarter not harder, but why not just dip the onion into the bowl with the egg wash, same for the breadcrumbs. Seems like you’re taking longer steps by trynna drizzle it on each onion petal.

I cooked this today and the sauce was good however, the onion came out a little tough and its a bit different compared to the original restaurant flavor that we all know and love. I followed your recipe to the T and used a medium/large onion like you did. Their is some error to this recipe and lack of skill. The onion needs to be steamed a bit if you want the right texture. My recommendation is to wrap it with aluminon foil and than take the foil off to brown it in an air fryer. There is also better ways to cover the onion with flour, eggs, and panko crumbs. I did however love the style of your video but I give your recipe a 4 out of 10.

Not bad but - the eggs should be placed in a small cup to almost cover the onion. There the onion can also be turned arround. The temperture is too high! In celcius it is 165. Less would also be good but time has to be extented. I will try again

Surely a quick and light spray with Pam could help. I have used Pam to spray a bit on top of a cobbler where places look dry and it has helped with that. So I imagine it would give a more actual fried taste than going in the air fryer with no oil at all misting it.

With the onion soaked to lose its bitterness to tame it, the onion powder likely just ramps up the flavor factor being used in the coating. I roasted a garlic clove and actually minced a garlic clove to out in olive oil and getting some of the roasted garlic paste, I combined the roasted with the raw garlic with some of the olive oil, which happened to also be garlic olive oil gifted to me. The more the tastier.
