It’s a good pub curry and value for money is unbeatable!
We work away from home so wetherspoons is definitely a regular eating post….
    I give their currys 9/10

Certainly not cordon bleu but doesn't profess to be. As a quick meal and a pint it can't be beaten on value. Don't think you'll find anywhere else in London for a meal and 2 beers for £20

Hi Lee, the prices are a fair bit more expensive than my Spoons, but they are very reasonable for London, you can enjoy the greene king ipa for cheap compared to other City pubs - the beef madras is definitely my pick, as long as it comes out hot im happy. i think spoons provides in general a great public service, especially as many folks just dont have alot of money to spend

£8.35 in my local spoons in Birmingham, curry club is the best club out of all of them, everything either banged straight in the microwave or heated on the grill with the naan. Nothing to go wrong always consistently good, fantastic value for money with a decent beer.

Thanks for the video you two thats me off to Spoons on Friday for a curry .
Mine is The Stanley Jefferson ( Stan Laurel) NE England.. The curry club price inc a alcoholic drink is £8.45 not bad at all as that includes premier lager like San Miguel..... only thing l didn't like about your London Spoons was you got a awful standard generic glass for your pint . 🙂

Had a Weatherspoons Curry 20 odd years ago when they first started doing it Maclad, tasted like a Supermarket meal so haven’t had one since. Nothing beats an Indian restaurant for Indian food so fair play for saying you weren’t going to compare this with that.

Hiya Lee and Darren, love the time-lapse on the Thames. London is beautiful.
I haven't been to a Wetherspoons for years. The prices seem cheap. Yes. 😂I just remember if you needed to use the ladies. You would have to walk a mile. 😁
    Have a lovely day.

Pretty much a fair review Lee, l would give it 8.5 out of 10. Wetherspoons is paying minimum 15% more for staff per hour compared to the rest of country, and that's set out in the National Living Wage for London. And l guess they are even paying more than this to keep staff. Quick example for staff over 23'' National Living Wage from next year is £10.85 London, rest of the country £9.50.

I've had Curries at Wetherspoons before, but that was several years ago... My only problem previously was with the portion sizes... The Stainless Steel Balti Dishes used at Wetherspoons are approximately 6" in diameter... The ones i usually get at an Indian Restaurant, are typically 8" in diameter... Just like the ones i have at home. So i always thought i was getting less Curry than i'd bargained for... However, having seen this... and the fact that they now do Curry meal deals with a drink included in the price, it's a real bargain... Especially as this is a London location, and prices around the rest of the country will be even cheaper... My top three favourite Curries are Lamb Dopiaza, my other two favourite Curries you guys had here... Chicken Tikka Masala... and Beef Madras... Good choices guys. Oh i could just down a Curry right about now after watching that... So i'll give this quite a high score today... of 9.5/10... All the best guys... Cheers Darren. 🍺 Cheers Lee. 🍺

I think you are correct with credit where credit is due. I have the vegan curry which sadly is not hot but at £8:45 in my local which includes a premium beer of Brew Punk IPA it is a steal. On its own the Brew Punk is £3:10 so that makes the curry £5:35 for two poppadoms, a naan, curry and rice. Absolute bargain. I know it is microwaved but it's good fodder in a rub-a-dub, with a pint of draft and less than 10 bucks.

They do a nice sweet potato, chick pea and spinach curry too. They used to do samosas and onion bhaji included in the meal for a little bit more. They’ve stopped that now. Must admit, they weren’t great, but the meals are good.

Very unique, Wetherspoons pub at a railway station. Prices very good for London, 10 quid for a feed and a drink. Place looked clean and tidy, big menu. Lee's chicken curry looked good, plenty of it, and plenty pappadums, naan and rice. Beer looked fresh and well chilled in nice glasses, but we in OZ sent Fosters to UK as no one here would drink it, LOL. I know it is brewed in UK. 8.5 for Lee's meal and DJ's beef curry looked good, plenty of it, perhaps not spicy enough apparently, but question mark re the quality of mango chutney? I would give his a 7.5. Overall a good meal at a good price. Keep up the good work guys.

There will always be good & bad ones, but most Spoons are OK for the food. All my local ones - Manchester area - are fine, never had a bad meal in any of them. Pricewise a little cheaper than you paid, but hey! 2 meals + beers for 20 squid what's not to like. The only bad thing about spoons is the gentleman who owns it, but it's the staff I'm concerned about, at least if I eat or drink there I'm helping to secure their jobs. And by using old buildings - ex art deco cinemas etc. spoons have helped to preserve some of our high streets. Cheers & thanks for the review👍

Two weeks ago with my son in Weatherspoon’s, really good for the price plus drinks . I had a curry, it was good, and I would give it an eight, just up the road from your famous frozen steak house in London. I found the curry very acceptable, but then I have had an Indian in some restaurants, that are just dire. The bell on the Green Bedfont Feltham 16 miles West of London three miles from Heathrow Airport. An integrated Indian in a pub. Top notch always ten out of ten. There is always something missing from Weatherspoon’s I believe nationwide that there is NO service charge. I avoid any place that has a service charge, it appears to be the norm in London even a café.

Let's get real fellas (don't be mean Darren), this is OUTSTANDING value with two pints included in central London.
    Has to be 9.5/10.
I took a half-mark off cos the popadoms looked micro-waved. Ok for the slimmers but frankly not proper for eating out (surprised you didn't comment!).
Darren, I reckon the chutney you didn't like was made with spirit vinegar (cheaper) which makes it taste a bit sharper. Still ok tho' (like the old curry houses of the past).

@maxwellfan55 It is important, I said important, to take the nann bread straight off the top of the popadoms when it might be brought to your table. Failure will result in popadoms becoming soggy. I don't think all 'spoons staff know this.

It was quite decent then at a great price with a drink - it is what is is and if you eat at spoons you know that, so I'll go again. btw i had a very hot naga chilli curry on special, advertised at a million scovilles lol, twas plenty hot enough, but beef madras !!! holy cow.

Always amazes me when people are surprised that prices vary from one Spoons pub to another. Of course they do, all pub chains prices vary depending on the area. Also, not only is this pub in London but it's in the 'city' area of London and inside a train station. Much higher average prices than the rest of London, but as always, Spoons are cheap for the area they're in. . Spoons also do a vindaloo which I didn't expect to be too strong, but it certainly was, for me anyway. Their curry's are quite tasty, even though they're pre prepared. Great value with a drink included.

Hiya Lee and DJ! It’s £7.15 for curry where i am with all the works, naan bread and poppadum etc with soft drink or £8.45 with alcoholic drink! They used to have a Chicken Vindaloo at ours which I see has gone off the menu now. The hottest curry is the Beef Madras like DJ has had.
Not much difference between this and London to be truthful.

Came to comment on the chicken vindaloo , shame they've gone off the menu since COVID . DJ would have loved them, they do a similar version in Morrisons it has a yellow and black nuclear warning sticker on it if he's curious. The first couple I had I was sweating like crazy but it's amazing how quickly the body adapts to tolerate hot chillies. The mango chutney sucks, yoghurt and mint would be better or lime pickle. But I guess that's too much of an acquired taste for spoons, peace be upon them 😊

Cheap and cheerful but filling. Never going to win any curry of the year awards but it is what it is for that price including a beer.

Prices are just over a quid more expensive in London than in Falkirk, curry club is great value can't beat it. 7.9/10 From me.

It looked nice, the garlic naan looked tasty, very reasonably priced for London, like you say maybe a couple of quid more, the drinks are more expensive but coffee the same 👍

03:37 Not sure if you do drinks reviews as I'm pretty new to your channel....if you do, you should review the cocktails in the "Sky Garden - city bar" at that timestamp ^^^

Hi Lee...Curries looked OK.... I know you always check to see if the Chicken is white inside..which means it;s breast meat, but if it's not white, maybe brownish in colour it usually means it's leg meat, thigh or drumstick, so not necessary inferior as a lot of people prefer the thigh meat ....You must be a Breast man rather than a leg man. ?.hehehe !!!

I went to the Curry club on a Thursday night and had the Jalfrezi which was meant to be a 🌶🌶🌶 heat level and wasn't hot at all, all said it was good value and a decent enough meal, as DJ said I would go for a 7 as well.

The reason 'Spoons always have dark blue patterned plates is so that you won't notice if the dishwasher has failed to get all of the dried up crud from the last customers meal off!
