@@sliceoflifefilm I genuinely think it's possible they faked one or more of the moonlandings, but that line made me laugh out loud. Great modelling video. I'm finding your series on splashback hugely inspiring.
Amazing. Chuck Yeager used to live down from me when I was a kid. My grandpa hung out with him on occasion. Moon landing was real, for creminy sakes, haha
Hahaha, I know it was. I was joking :D Cool story about Yeager! I will mention The Right Stuff in one of the next videos. Sam Shepard did a great job as Yeager.
I haven't seen anything like this for a long time. Dudes working hard to simply create what they want the world to see, stuff they believe in. Craftmanship, creativity, humor, free spirited, unconventional, amazing creations and storytelling is what springs to mind. Not to forget the guts to do these things. Great stuff guys, much appreciated!
I've just watched the whole video series and I just came back to this video to tell you that I'm a true admirer of your passion but also of your humor and how you approach every detail and eventuality , it was a fun day working while watching all your videos! Thanks for sharing all your insights in filming, scale model builds and all of the details behind each shot and even props. Congratulations on your channel and hope we can meet some day, cheers from Mexico.
That they more or less stick on kitchen cabinets. It comes off in the end. But having said that, check if it is not PVC.....PVC and laser cutters don't mix. It creates chlorine gas that will destroy your laser printer (and you, as it is toxic) as it is corrosive.
The stencils look great, but have you considered custom waterslide decals? Uses existing any paper printer and the paper isn’t going to break the bank. The fun facts about the launcher and rocket were nice additions btw.
Yes! I did buy some decal paper later. It works great, unless you need white decals because most printers don't have that option. I will use it in one of the next videos! ;)
Wonderful to watch you work. Regarding the platform, I saw it in motion and it's really huge, as in "are you kidding me?" huge. Standing next to the "crawlers" make you wonder whether you are hallucinating.
I've build crawler with 3d printer three years ago. I thought NASA doesn't show 3d print data at that time. I've drawing all with fusion360 and printed them.
@@sliceoflifefilmanother thing about the transporter that was interesting, it moves very slowly. For good reason I suppose because you don't want to dump a space shuttle. I can't remember exactly how slow it moves, but it wasn't miles per hour, rather it was miles per week.
An old buddy of mine used to sit at the top in a lounge chair with an air horn for the modern space shuttle to scare birds off. Sat up there with a book. Some jobs are just cool!

The ghosts of Apollo astronauts who literally sat on an explosion into outer space, watching this and shaking their heads in disappointment. 😂 Also, I request react videos to old school miniatures in films. Might be good for content.
In another video, you mentioned using hot glue over superglue because it cures faster. I recommend adding an accelerator spray to your toolbox. It allows superglue to cure very quickly, speeding up assembly. Additionally, accelerators create stronger bonds, making your model sturdier. They also help reduce mess during assembly. Accelerator sprays + superglue can even be used together with regular glue. Simply attach the pieces with a few dabs of superglue and accelerator, then use regular glue for a stronger final bond. This way, you can assemble things quickly without breaking the bank on superglue, and still achieve a very sturdy result. Here's a bonus tip for DIY enthusiasts: Superglue also cures very fast with baking soda. It's a cheap alternative to accelerator spray. You can either apply the baking soda first, then add the glue, or add the glue and sprinkle the baking soda on top. While not as neat as using an accelerator spray, it is much cheaper and baking soda can be used to fill voids too.
Ah yes I know about accelerators but it still hasn't become a thing here in Croatia so I would have to order internationally and it would quickly become too expensive. But I'm keeping an eye out for sure 😉😉
Great video. " Life in the crawler" . I wonder if they would let you drive the crawler into a drive-in movie theater. Looking forward to next week's episode!
The moon landing was hoaxed by Slice of Life! Btw, I experienced a big difference in the use of 'Liquid CA glue' vs 'gel CA glue' especially when pasting parts together with a bit of a gap in between them. Personally I'm not a fan of a glue gun close to 3D printedparts (temperature). Great model man, love your work!
Beautiful work, did you make a base without the crawler treads? That is a separate machine, and doesn't stay under the platform once the tower is in it's launch location.
I must admit I haven't researched it that deeply, haha. But we have only one shot of the rocket on the launch pad and the tracks are not visible, so I hope we're good 🤣

For thin, strong material to cut you can use the plastic stuff that they stick on kitchen cabinets. It's about 0.5mm thick and cuts ok
