    Highly recommend Operation Avalanche about two documentarians working at Nasa tasked with faking the moon landing. It would be right up your alley, its funny, its very indie, super creative and has great attention to detail. It's a Borat/The Office style psuedo documentary, where people don't know they're being filmed and somehow they were still able to pull off the period aesthetics (and Kubrick makes a cameo).

    I love how you've moved the VAB from Florida to Houston! Your narration during the process of building it was awesome. I highly recommend the documentary of "Women at Warp" regarding the actress Nichelle Nichols' (Uhura!) involvement in the recruiting process of women and people of color for the space shuttle program. She made it successful with her short involvement and many of the crew of Challenger were part of that process. She's gone now, but that spirit lives on .

    Lol I saw you r last video first and I was like: "uhmm there's no nice lobby entrance this is where the actual rockets are assembled, but hey! Artistic liberty!"
    I've been to "the Cape", Cape Canaveral in Florida twice and the building doesn't look as tall as it is because there are no trees and the terrain is completely flat. Only when the bus driver tells you that each stripe of the US flag is the width of a bus you go like: "daaaaamn that builing is tall!" And the second time the doors were open and you could see some people and that's really when it hit home that this could actually fit the Statue of Liberty.
    And I agree, artistic liberty is fine in most cases! Unless you make a period piece. Great example about the Inglorious Bastards. I initially hated the movie because I thought it was a remake and it made nosense. The second time I watched it from the angle of a satire, with a wink towards "America saves the day again" and it all clicked. You need to watch a movie in a certain context and I am sure this short film, will just click as a satire too. The whole art style communicates that already.

    • @sliceoflifefilm
      @sliceoflifefilm  8 месяцев назад +1
