There also was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for the PS1, which is something I was not aware of existing until many years later.
I loved every single Tony Hawk game released for the PlayStation and Nintendo GameCube consoles. I never played the N64 version of Tony Hawk though.
You should make a series of the Syphon Filter series on the PS1, it's also legendary on it's own. 989 Studios went from a flop with Bubsy 3D to a masterpiece spy action stealth game, I mean, that deserves a video on it's own. They did the impossible. Maybe that's a idea for a future video?
Love the videos fam, keep up the great work!
@@cougar-town thanks so much for the kind words! I’ll consider checking out Syphon Filter! Thanks again 🔥
there is an xbox port hello
@@mattschehr163 I know about the other ports but I only took a look at these 3 because they are the only ones I own. I can’t really compare another version that I never even played ya know.
I think the reason for not including the live-action intro in the N64 version is how "small" the cartridge was. PS1's CDs are 700 megabytes, PS2's DVDs are 4.7 gigabytes (or 8.5 gigabytes for dual-layered DVDs). But a Nintendo 64 cartridge was designed to hold only up to 64 megabytes of data. This fact makes the existence of Resident Evil 2 on this console a god damn miracle
@@labaluba that’s some crazy info! I never knew how small the n64 cartridges could hold compared to the ps1🫡🤔
The answer is the 6TH generation Home Console edition. Because it has superior programming featuring Xbox, GameCube, PC, and in this video, PS2.
5:14 Blame Nintendo for that. Nintendo 64 game cartridges are much smaller in data size than PS1 compact discs that there is not enough space on a Nintendo 64 game cartridge to utilize full-motion videos or have a huge soundtrack, which was why videos were absent and soundtrack was dumbed down in the N64 version.
Nintendo 64 game cartridges can range from 4 MB to 64 MB of storage for game data (THPS3 on N64 uses 16 MB of data). PlayStation 1 CDs can range from 100 MB to 2.0 GB (PS1 version of THPS3 uses 673.33 MB of data in .bin format). The number of videos and music take up a huge amount of storage (videos do take up A LOT of storage) compared to the game engine, level design, and graphics.
@@ThunderDragonRandy crazy to think about nowadays like with the switch and how small the cartridges are yet they can hold full games🤔
great video! I remember being envious of a buddy who had it on ps2 because it had so much more content.
also good job on the editing! but please try looking into the camera lense.
@@KimboKG14 thanks for the support and thanks for the feedback! I usually like to look around a lot while talking but I’ll try better to maintain the eye contact! 🔥
I think you should've played more of the levels of the n64/ps1 version of the game. I grew up playing the n64 release, didn't experience the next-gen version until about five years ago, and one thing that people don't bring up much is how the n64 version of Rio has a secret area that isn't in the next-gen version of the map, I'm guessing the ps1 map is identical. It's a cool area and you should check it out.
@@dallinsinger2636 thanks for letting me know! I’ll definitely try it out 🔥
Xbox Port: Am I A Joke To You?
Xbox port of THPS 3 is the best version. Better graphics, better controls, exclusive level and character, and it's backwards compatible on the X360!
@@Wicked_Fox I know theirs other versions of the game I only just took a look at these 3 because they are the only ones I own🤔
Plus the Cruise level is also on the Xbox, so not exclusive to PS2
@@Probailer2 oh my bad I thought it was exclusive to ps2 😢
Sick video. I remember meeting my friends cousin over this game and we formed a friendship along side it.
That’s awesome! This game also made me and one of my old friends relationships better! 🔥
I played all thps on th n64 and always used the yellow buttons for every action wether flip grab or grind lol what did you use??
@@crkst I think I was just using the a and b buttons to do flip tricks
@@TheBR8DYShow aaahh yeah it seems a bit out the way using those… I believe Z was a grab also? Just made more sense having all the action buttons in the same area.
What about the GameCube and Dreamcast version
@@SpyYoshi I didn’t incorporate those ones into this video because I don’t own those versions😣
@@TheBR8DYShowwell you can always sail the high seas 🏴☠️
There's no Dreamcast version of THPS3 (Bleemcast version is basically the PS1 version emulated).
The reason why the n64 version doesn’t have the FMV in the beginning is because the n64 only had a maximum storage space of 64 megabytes near the end of its life, which would make the FMV impossible to run on the console. I mean the N64 version doesn’t have as much lag and fog as the PS1 version, but still
@@jackdevlin1107 yeah I just figured that out. Crazy how little storage it had compared to the ps1🤔🤔. But of course cds can hold more so it makes sense
I have this on the OG Xbox
@@jambi5096 I’ve sadly never played that version😔😔. I hear that it’s the best one though
Hell yeah I play the game as a kid my dad had It years ago & now I have It years later the gameplay Is phenomenal absolutely love It ❤😊
That’s awesome! Me and one of my old friends absolutely loved the ps2 version and even though he may not be in my life anymore I still think about him everytime I play! Such a great game with some great memories!
@@TheBR8DYShow awwww that's so sweet my dad pops In my head when thps3 Is In my head I was Introduced to the game cause of him & now I'm love the tony hawk games mainly from thps1 to 4 haven't played the underground games & shit but when underground came out It seems like the series went down hill Its not much about skateboarding like the previous ones I haven't decided the best tony hawk game yet but there's certainly tricks from even the original I like more then the newer ones the old games are the fucking best Super fun
@@dayquantalbert235 id recommend Underground 2. It’s my 2nd favorite Tony Hawk game! Yeah the story may be weird but the gameplay and maps are really good! (Still not better than THPS3 though but still good) 🔥
@@TheBR8DYShow ok maybe someday I'll buy underground 1 first then 2 & check It out It does look fun but at the Sametime It's a destruction tour & shit I rather It be more focus on skateboarding but ok
Great video would love to see you do this with project 8. I feel the ps2 version has a few extra details I personally think are better than the ps3 version .
@@WebMasterGG glad you enjoyed! Project 8 was also one I played a ton as a kid so maybe in the future I’ll have a video 🔥
There Was a ps3 version?
@@starman5901 that I am not sure of. I only had the three versions in this video because those are the only versions I own.
You're literally just describing ps2 vs ps1 vs N64 graphics in general for any game basically. lol
@@Finfection just comparing the graphic between the versions. Of course ps2 will be more detailed but it’s still cool to see the differences between them!
@@TheBR8DYShow For, sure, and it is cool to see them compared, but the descriptions of the graphics just sound like generic descriptions of what the graphics on those consoles look like in general. 😅
@@Finfection yeah I know maybe I need to be more detailed in my descriptions😭😭
Haha singing the Spineshank song
@@alanf8622 dude it’s fire you can’t blame me 🔥
@@TheBR8DYShow always loved them haha
Foundry, LA, and Canada are better on the PS1, Graphics and creations are better on PS2
@@FlyinLionQuinn no matter what their both still really fun to play! 🔥
THPS3 was the best of the series.
@@krushingbro6620 straight up it’s my favorite Tony Hawk game ever! #2 is Underground 2 for me! 🔥
Wow I didn’t even know they had it on the N64!!!😮 I still think PS2 is best
Yes sirrrr PS2 is always better 🔥
It was actually the final official retail N64 game ever released.
@@Finfection bro that’s a cool fact. I never knew that 🔥
ps1 version all the way 🙌🏻 I used to pay it as a kid
@@markomilojevic8122 hell yeah! Definitely not a bad version 🔥
THPS3 ran on PSX?!
@@finnhaverkamp yes it did! 🔥
Yes, PS1 / PSX even had THPS4
@@ramonmarcondes3915 no flipping way
@@ramonmarcondes3915 I do in fact have pro skater 4 on ps1 I’ve just never played it
@@finnhaverkamp Yup and it's nearly different than its 6th gen counterparts. Like THPS3 on PS1 and N64, THPS4 on PS1 uses the same game engine as THPS1&2. Spine Transfering and Reverts are pretty wonky in the PS1 version (Spine Transfers look weird and reverting doesn't always work) and some levels appear to be a bit smaller/less explorative but there are also some exclusive levels that the 6th gen versions don't have, the goals in Career mode are completely different, but there are some exclusive levels the PS1 version and goals in Career mode (or just Career mode entirely) is different than in the 6th gen versions so in that aspect, it is pretty much a different game than the 6th gen counterparts.
