At 7:58ish I put wrong console logos over gba and gbc. Also, I was really sick when doing this video, so I did do frame rate, and forgive any other mistakes. Also, all gameboy footage is by xindictive
It's fine, we all make mistakes. I just assumed I was a little tired and was getting mixed up in my head as I watched, cause that happens. So if it makes you feel any better, I made a mistake too and we're all human.
Thanks for the video sir!
@@PuroresuFan, see, I did the same thing. I rewatched that segment like 8 times before I made my comment to make sure I wasn't just seeing things after being up since about 7am and watching it at like 1am.
Lmao. You're very welcome
Lmao. I knew it was there too, I just forgot to replace it
I recommend pinning this comment
Nobody in the comments section seems amazed at all the platforms this game was released in.
Exactly
I am
I remember when publishers used to release games on EVERYTHING available at the time. Most of the time, you just get ports of similar quality, which was nice because everybody got to play. But sometimes you get a completely different game made specifically for that console.
It was usually Gameboy games that did that and it led to a few hidden gems. Like, Daikatana was an FPS originally, but the Gameboy Color port was a completely different game in the vein of Zelda.
Nowadays, you’d be lucky to have a third party game ported to all the consoles.
@@Ckoz2829 Actually, these days most third party games get ported to all consoles, save for the switch (for obvious technical reasons). These are great days in that regard.
Stingy McDuck
That’s what I was lamenting. It’s either the Xbox and PS4, or just the PS4 and Switch. It’s not usually all the consoles. Switch loses out most of the time, but Xbox doesn’t always get the popular indie titles. PC gets almost everything, so they don’t have a problem.
I'm from Mexico, I used to play a lot of Tony Hawk 3, I remember I saved money to buy it in GameCube, good times, I miss those times.
My favorite generation. The 6th gen
Used to visit my cousins in Ensenada and play Pro Skater 4 with bags of chips and good memories, simple times
I wish this was on Dreamcast, would’ve been a great Comparison
at that time the dreamcast was already dead unfortunately. would have liked to see the dreamcast alive for at least 2 more years.
@@Fuchsfeuer I think the Dreamcast was supported until 2006. At least in Japan, but the production of it stopped in early 2002. What a sad piece of video gaming history.
@bat Sometimes they didn't even bother to reskin them, such as with Nightmare Creatures II. It's a fantastic game, but man did they ever miss the boat on making it look better. :/
That said, Soul Reaver was more than a reskin. It's probably the best looking and playing version of the game, above even the PC, at least at time of release.
It probably would've had a similar look to the gc version but at half the frame rate
@bat the other dc tony hawks were quite a bit better than the ps1 version
Those tony hawk map editors were insane back in the day.
@BENJAMIN AISENSTAT I think that was the one! Tony Hawk's UnderGround 2
@BENJAMIN AISENSTAT Sorry for this long comment, but…
Yeah, but they got rid of some things in the later Create a Park versions, like the loop that was in THPS3 (though they added things like the rail tool, which is also good)! Due to at least THUG2 and THAW using the same pieces, it got kinda boring over time.
THPS2 had parts that later games didn't have, too. It had normal signs, brown/grey quarter pipe variations, and transition pieces between high and low quarter pipes. I hope THPS 1+2 lets users morph quarter pipes to replicate that.
THUG1 had the ability to drive a car around in custom parks during checkpoint goals, which I liked.
I remember being genuinely shocked at seeing a real copy of the N64 version back in 2003 on GameStop. I thought nobody even cared to make any more N64 games, yet there it was.
it was officially the last game on the console.
Final game released on it..and pricy asf
Believe it or not, the sequel to this game actually runs at 720p on the original Xbox
On xbox 360 it will looks good then
Amazing, a console from 2001 running native 720p. A bunch of games did on Xbox actually, around 40.
@@bmx7596 true! And a handful up to 1080i! Gran Turismo 4 on PS2 is 1080i as well (with component cables)
You can patch THPS3 to run in 720p and also in widescreen as well.
Yea OG xbox ran doom 3 and half life 2 it was fuckin dope
xbox was the last "nextgen" release, having the most fixes, hence better textures and some different assets. the difference can be spotted in rio and suburbia levels, as those got significantly larger textures on xbox. you can probably spot it if you'll try to run it on cxbx.
pc version is a kind of unpolished/unfinished ps2 port with a bit of early content handed over before the game was done. that's why pc version doesn't have a replay feature, there are no 2 players splitscreen modes, the shadow is deep black, there is a different sky in roswell and los angeles and bam's shirt is white instead of black (or vice versa, dont remember).
on pc you have to enable particles in the launcher to have the fire effect.
maul shadow glow is not because of win10, that's how it is in this port.
but there is one thing consoles lack and it's levelmod :P
Thps 3 on gba was surprisingly good. The psudo 3d gba graphics always used to amaze me.
Amazing comparison on an amazing Game!!!! Final Fantasy 7 (PS1/PSP/Android Phone/Windows and also the remastered ones Nintendo Switch/Xbox One/PS4), Phantasy Star Online (Dreamcast/Gamecube/Windows/Xbox) Marvel vs Capcom 2 (IOS/Dreamcast/Xbox/PS2/Xbox 360/PS3/SEGA NAOMI arcade-Idk if that could be included.) :) I like this Graphical comparison on THPS 2!!
Yeah I wonder what it was like being the ones on the N64 team having to go from the ground up in 2002-03. Probably knowing it was likely the last game for the console, and a demotion in the job lol
There was a cheat code called MY HOMIEZ i think and it gave u the neversoft eye as a skater its just the eye on a pretty fit body in a speedo if i remember correctly, i only played on ps2 though so im not sure about the other consoles
It’s YOHOMIES and it gives you all the skaters
@@thefuzzylegend8674 yeah i know it gives u all the skaters but i didn't see that skater anywhere in the video so i was just pretty confused
Awesome stuff bro, as usual, really good memories of those old days
Thank you
Wow this guy went really in depth even as far as playing the games on the consoles with capture cards and getting the mac version. Props!
That must be a hard work! really nice!
Great video love me some Tony Hawk 3 brings me back to an N64 days
Glad you liked it.
On the N64 version of the game, Tony Hawk's shirt actually has a Pokeball on it not the wave logo.
Wow! I was really interested in this comparison, but didn’t ever expected. Quite a great surprise!
Thank you
for the snow on that one tree not being on the xbox version, did you already do the mission where you dump snow on the bully from that tree and not on the other versions? it might have been gone because of that, and the canada level in the n64 and ps1 versions are completely different compared to the other versions
Great video :D
Amazing video rooker!!! I would love some mafia 1 or mafia 2 comparison, now that you have the new definitive edition just released.
Mafia 1 is done, but yeah not with the new one
How are the consoles hooked up to your capture card? Because the blurriness and aliasing can vary a lot if you use component, S-Video, composite or RGB cables.
Would love to see a WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 comparison, keep up the good videos!
A great side by side
Good one man
Hope to see more
Thank you
Amazing analysis
7:57 PlayStation Color and Nintendo 64 Advance? Where can I buy them?
What was used to capture this footage please? Also was an rgb cable used?
So much to cover. Good job bro.
Lightsabers actually do cast shadows! Mostly a by-product of the props used on set, but even the flame of a candle can have a shadow.
Not trying to point out mistakes, but for some reason during the GBA and GBC comparisons the PS1 and N64 logos are on screen at 7:59.
Great video as always though and you could have used the free cam bug to really get some great footage of the levels. RUclipsr Oddheader covered how to activate it in one of his videos but the basics of it is that when loading up a level, watch the eyeball icon and when it stops the third time hold start and the game will enter a debug camera but it does softlock the game and requires the console to be reset after use. Some levels like the airport do not fully load in so you can't fully explore all levels but you can with most and LA is the most interesting one as cars and peds spawn in at weird locations and heights.
Yeah, sucks I can't fix it. To late now
I used to play this on PS2 with my brother all the time. Thug pro on PC is so much fun, playing the maps from back then is great. Btw Thug pro for anyone who doesn't know is a free Tony hawk game with all Tony hawk games smashed into one.
Nice video
Never played Tony Hawk 3, but played Tony Hawk 2 and I liked it so much! Also great video, JurassicNinja!
Thank you
I like your comparisons, I think I have seen them all at this point, but I really think that there is something wrong with your Gamecube capture. What video output are you using?
I use component and play at 480p
Never got achance to play this game but man i didn't know how many versions there were. I learn something from this channel quite a bit
I didn't either, thought it would be a fast one. I was wrong.
Another good video, thanks and 👍
No prob
At 6:42, there's no snow on the tree on the Xbox version because you've completed the goal for Bury the Bully, which involves hitting the tree to knock the snow off of it to bury a guy that's bullying a nerd.
Sorry, nitpicky, but just wanted to point that out. Otherwise, fantastic video! I really enjoyed all the comparisons!
get well soon or hopefully you're already better now, thps is one of my fav games, spent hours mastering number 3 on xbox
Still sick sadly. But thank you. Worst cold I've ever had. Nasty stuff
This was like the first GameCube game I ever played
Why PS2 version looks a little stretched? Was it a problem with capture or not ?
Was the footage playing at 0:26 captured on real hardware? Thanks.
As always what a great video bro idk if you taking games in a p.o. box we can send but if you need any import stuff that can help your vids would be good too know keep up the great content as always much respect. I live in japan so its easier for me to get japanese imports just saying
Thank you as always. I love making these vids. My po is in every video description
@@RookerVision Amazing good too know
'The Aliasing is bad on the consoles'
Mind you, you are comparing a game from a time where aliasing issues were naturally masked by CRTs. The jump to LED TVs meant that all that pixel-perfect detail would show jaggies - And all those consoles render at 480i with the exception of last-gen, which did 240p/240i. So yes, jaggies everywhere! :D
AMOEBAAA, AMOEBAAA, AMOEBAAA
(song: the adolescents - amoeba. Thanks to Trevor and GTA V have this track again)
Remember me and my,brother always playing this game on the ps2 it was so good
I have to say while I never played a Tony Hawk I am rather impressed that they released the game for a wide variety of platform. The same can be said about there other franchises such as Call of Duty and Skylanders, the latter of which got ports of every game on Wii U.
If you install 10.6.8 Snow Leopard you can run classic environment apps like Tony Hawk 3 on a more modern OS. Then you can use "Screenflow" to record your footage like FRAPs would.
@Laserdisc Nope 10.6 was. Snow Leopard is the last version to have Rosetta allowing classic software to be used. 10.7 Lion is where Apple started its decline...
That Mac footage makes it look like an early ps3 game
Are you gonna do THPS4 next?
Absolutely unreal how clear and not “fuzzy” the Windows picture looks
I believe that's mostly down to the higher resolution possible on the pc version. If you were to run the console versions on emulators with the resolution upscaled about 3x or 4x, then they'd look just as sharp as the pc version.
Thats is a awesome graphics comparison of the best skateboard game of 2001!
Thank you
wow so many different platforms for this. I thought it was on PS2 and GC only
5:12 Where does this music come from?
here’s hoping for a 3/4 remake🍻
I remembered that I played Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 on PS1. Good times...
Any game I loved as a kid I still love, even if it's terrible. Lol. Nostalgia
THPS3 for ps1 is actually a pretty good port, it's basically THPS2 with new levels and other new stuff so, it's still an upgrade for people who couldn't afford a ps2 back then
@@RookerVision nostalgia, man. It never goes away from us ever
You forgot about the dreamcast version, bruh. Good video though! 💯
🙃 doesn't exist
What did you do to get the PC version to work on Windows 10? I am having no luck with my copy.
Shoot. I do not know. Been installed on my pc for years. Im sure there is. Fan patch or something.
If you are not able to boot the game GameCopyWorld has a No-CD and No-Intro fix that might help. Running the game in Windows 7 or XP compatibility mode might also help. PC Gaming Wiki has a patch released around Nov. 2009 that might help as well.
Like The VHS Reviver said, you'll probably need a no-cd crack because the drm doesn't work on windows 10. I also recommend the widescreen fix made by ThirteenAG
A four-leaf clover, a genie and GeekSquad. Damn you most PC versions of console games and your technical issues!!!
The Kill Bruce thing is odd though.
Also, Bruce may be a reference to Bruce Willis, who was part of Neversoft for the game Apocolypse, as he played as the main character for it, gave out his likeness as well. It was the first Neversoft game to use Motion Capture, before THPS2.
It is possible. I do know the devs left lot's of Easter eggs in
@@RookerVision
Like the goat one in THPS 4.
Also, in your Driv3r video, you said the title of the gane wrong, it was ment to be said as Driver 3, because of how stupid the placement of the 3 was, same with Fear 3, as it was called F3AR.
I know. I said dri3vr like that to make fun of the stupid placement of the 3. Lol. Always hated it
@@RookerVision
So uh..... When are you going to remake that Half Life Comparison video?
Because I wanted to mention that the PS2 and the OG GoldSrc version of Half Life were using the HD Textures, while on Source, you were using the old models, it makes a difference when you see the same security guard over and over, because all of thek are just "Clones" of Barney Calhoon.
I so intend on remaking that one.
I’m getting this for the GameCube hope it’s good
U should use darker border in videos makes things easier to see
I've always been wondering: would a Dreamcast version be a port of the PS1/N64 version or a port of the PS2/GC/XB/PC version ?
Probably ps2, but slightly down graded maybe
@@RookerVision The Dreamcast was better with texture handling than the PS2, so it's possible the game would have looked a bit more crisp on the DC. The PS2 was a bit more powerful overall, but not by a whole lot. The DC also did lighting a bit better, at least in the early games. One fun comparison are the PS2 and DC versions of Dead or Alive 2. I always thought the DC version looked better owing to the fact that the PS2 version had some weird lighting issues.
Though, if you want to do a really great comparison, try Splinter Cell series. The PS2 version struggled incredibly hard to keep up with the Xbox. Where the Xbox had dynamic lighting, the PS2 didn't. And the levels were often chopped up on the PS2 with random load times.
The Xbox version also featured a lot of advanced techniques for the time, like bump mapping.
Can you do nfs undercover graphics comparison?
A shame that THPS3, THPS4, Underground and the other weren't released on Dreamcast.
Wouldn’t be possible, Sega pull out of that dead console
What a shame, would've been nice to see THPS3 running on DC. PS1 even got the 4th one!
@@starman5901 yeah i know, but the dc could have handle the prior tony hawk games. It was more closer to ps2 than ps2 to gamecube power wise. Maybe the polygons and the 60 fps would be sacrified in order to mantain most of the graphical fidelity and gameplay mechanics.
I'm guessing a modded gamecube can run it in 480p through component and it should be nearly if not as good as xbox?
i be speed running the ps1 version. shit’s pretty fun
Hey could you do a saints row The Third side by side with the remastered version
How do you download the old pc games?
2:00
I thought my dog made that noise.
So how did you capture all this?
HDMI mods?
RGB?
Component cables?
S-video?
Composite?
What capture card?
Live gamer extreme. All on component cables. Ps2 forced to 480p, same with Xbox and gamecube. Ps1 game on ps2, and n64 with svideo upscaled with hdmi.
@@RookerVision Nice. And regarding n64, practical. N64 RGB modification itself isn't too bad, but not every model can be modified. So, if your RGB N64 dies, it's hard to replace.
Really hope this game gets a remake too
With the success of THPS 1+2, lets HOPE that this game is remastered 💯 imagine all the levels 😍😭
Even just adding it as dlc on the new game would be cool lol
My guess is that they'll remake 3+4 eventually. And then THUG1+THUG2 after that.
BrokenGod Ent. That would be amazing
Guys pls Marvel ultimate Alliance next!
Jesus this came out on so many platforms
1:27 what skin is this
A little late to the party love the video my brother.
Thanks. You're never late. Always welcomed
Its so surprising how much very tiny differences there are between each and every platform games were in those days. Nowadays all ports look the exact same
Omg Gameboy advance, I miss Driver 2 and Micro Machines
4:31 The color of the floor isn't different on Xbox, the whole image just looks tinted red. You can see his skin is also a different color as a result.
I played the ps2 version at my friends house on my birthday I brought crash Twinsanity aswell
Nice you like roblox same for me
@@eliasmalam ok
@@hiddencateye6878 ok
The assets on the Xbox version aren't different actually (except for a few that actually are). Microsoft, for whatever reason, has always used a custom gamma curve on their video output, causing colors and saturation on all their consoles to have a warmer, slightly more saturated tone.
That is the last 64-bit game before the rise of the evil 128-bit Lord available in the Southeast Asia (such as Philippines and Indonesia)
I never knew Pro Skater 3 was a available on the PS2
Please compare Chinatown wars for ds, psp and android/iOS!
.
Also, when are gonna compare Max Payne 2? I've been eagerly waoting for that comparison ever since Max Payne 1 came out.
Is there something wrong with your Xbox capture? There is no way its actually THAT choppy.
I played this game so much on Xbox. I was lucky that my school had the game too and I could play during the breaks, nobody could beat me, I remember a few kids got mad and told me to go home and play lol
I've played THPS3 a bit in ps1 but 4 was my favorite
Where do you download the game for Windows 10
Nice. I’ve bought used PS2 copy just to replay it.
Didn't even know there was a crazy HD version on PC.
After THPS Pro skater 1+2, I need a THPS3 REMAKE RIGHT NOW!
Nice
Do nfs undercover next!
Plzz Do a video on Spider-Man edge of time 👍🏻
It's crazy that it have a version for gb color
It's funny that you called Private Carrera "Sexy Chick" and It's also funny how you called Demoness "Demon Chick"
oil rig can be played on pc version if installing levelmod
Definitely curious about how you’re capturing on GameCube. In my experience GC usually has better picture quality over the PS2. Regardless great video brother.
probably composite xD
I am using component cables for everything. Hdmi when available. Gamecube, ps2 and xbox forced 480p
it has better picture quality, but sometimes developers had to compress the textures more aggressively, sometimes even reducing texture resolution. I didnt played THPS3 on GameCube, but the Need for Speed games, especially Most Wanted and Carbon have awful textures on GC
Yeah, that has happened a lot of the times. Didn't want to split it to 2 discs
Yes gamecube did have some lower quality assets, and fmv sequences look awful. But the actual video output is nice and sharp, compression of assets does not explain the blurry game play captures. Something is not right with the captures
"First game on the PS2 with online support" came out in 2003
Socom, a game very well known for online play. Came out in 2002. Still isn't considered the earliest game with online for North America
Tribes Aerial Assault came out a month after Socom in 2002 as well.
Tony Hawk 3 came out in 2001.......
