I love fasting but I currently cannot do it during this time in my life. I have tried it but getting up at 4 and my stress doesn't allow me to get the benefit from it. I just watch my nutrition, watch snacking and eat well. I am a firm believer that it is helpful. My mom practically does OMAD, but she has always had so much trouble with weight gain even with fasting and eating ok. Thanks, doc!
Thanks for sharing!!
I learned to do black coffee this week! I feel so accomplished
BOSS!!!!!
I’m with you on coffee. Sweet and creamy! Now I can manage without? First I get rid of the sweet stuff. Then I diluted the coffee with water. That really works.
I’ve been doing IF, since 2005. I do the 16/8 eating window. I’ve tried cutting down too 2 meals a day, but I tend to gain weight. I have to eat 3 meals a day. I don’t drink coffee or tea. I’ve been able to keep my weight around 125lbs. I workout 3-5 days per week. At 44. people think my daughter (15) are sisters.
Do you fast 7 days a week? or you take any break between?
@@anamartins6199 Yes, I do the 16/8 fasting window 7 days a week. I’ve never done a 24hr fast or longer.
You share a lot in common with Dr Gundry who I also follow. 33:10 But he goes on about lectins. Do you have any thoughts on this? I just miss pumpkin seeds which are on his bad list 😂
Our friends John and Dru own Galveston Coffee Roasters! Great folks and delicious coffee! ❤️
The best!
Is it recommend fasting everyday without stopping? or best take break on weekend? Thanks
Question about fasting and reactions: I know that coffee creamer will interrupt the fast (thankfully I've always drunk cold brew black!) but I'm prepping a slow cooker this morning (pulled chicken breasts) and my mouth is watering like mad over the scents of the barbecue sauce (homemade). If I'm having enough of a digestive reaction to make my mouth water, am I likely having an insulin dump as well, despite nothing going in my mouth? I think I can feel that I am. But is there any solution to the issue of this 'breaking' the fast for the body?
How do you break your fast (which food?)
I want to fast but I’m on HRT
How does that work since fasting changes your hormones?
I can’t find info on this subject anywhere!
OH! I purchase coffee from summer moon, it's amazing. I have it on a subscription and I live in Alabama. They are based in TX.
Sounds great!
I checked my sugar levels with a cgm before and after having my black coffee with a tea spoon of mct oil and there was no change in the sugar levels. Does this mean that coffee with mct oil is okay for me?
I want to try IF, but I don't know if I can handle it. I am a full-time school teacher with teenagers. I leave home at 6:45 and get home 4ish. I've been eating breakfast before I leave ... if I don't eat something by 9:30 I am starving. Teaching takes a lot of physical and mental (and emotional) energy! Lunch is at 12:45 and after school is over by 3:30 I am starving. I go home and prepare a healthy supper for my family by 6 p.m. Help!
This is amazing. I’m so excited. Going to try this. You have so much knowledge Lady 🙏🏻
So glad!
My grandmother did that same thing …coffee with lots of milk and sugar … I thought I was the only one drinking coffee at 6 years old
Nope! Me too!
Does putting collagen in black coffee count as breaking your fast?
I’ve lost 75 pounds doing the ketogenic diet. I’m a 72 year old lady with osteoarthritis …which, btw,….I still have inflammation! I should probably lose another 15 pounds. However, I seem to have stopped losing for the last 3 months. I am curious as to why you feel your plan works better? I am in your program but have had trouble understanding exactly what I need to do. Thank you for your attention.
Our plan is specifically formulated to FIGHT inflammation! Email us at success@galvstondiet.com for more information/details.
During my eating window, can I add half and half and stevia to my coffee? Also can I use raw honey in my Greek yogurt? Thank you.
Yes you can!
What do you think about IF messing up hormones? Is that true?
I have zero evidence to support that claim.
I have recently been told that if you drink your morning coffee without fat and protein it will raise your cortisol. Do you know if that is true? I'm worried that my morning black coffee could be causing weight gain.
No studies to prove this . It is only someone's opinion.
what about adding almond milk and stevia?
When you break your fast, sure!
I have heard drinking coffee black in the fasting window increases cortisol in an unhealthy way and stresses the body out. Thoughts on that?
I have not seen any studies to support that. Do you have any reference articles?
@@maryclairehavermd8473 I do not and have not seen articles. That’s why I asked. I know you always have great data to support information. Thank You your videos are great. I started my fasting practice back up from 14 to 16 hrs after watching your videos. I had a complete hysterectomy in feb 2021 45 yrs old and in menopause. So I am hoping the fasting will
Help with menopause related health and cut into that fat I gained after surgery. Thank you again. Much appreciated
I am 55 and nothing is working for me and I don’t know what to do

can you have raw, unfiltered honey in tea during your eating window?
It is a sugar and will break your fast.
Yes because if it’s your eating window. You aren’t fasting.❤
@@carolynpaxton219 thank you, I was questioning the type of sweetener. I’ve heard so much conflicting information about honey even though it’s natural.
