It’s so American when they measure in football field and weight of air craft carrier
Yooooo 😂😂😂😂

@@antr7493 except it's very imprecise and it costs nothing to use worldwide accepted measures

So let me get this straight….”completely electric” …but electricity made with natural (frack-mined) gas? Im confused.
Where else do you think electricity comes from? Fairies?
They can't put windmills or solar panels in. Nuclear power plants wouldn't work either.
@@ILovePancakes24 Why would you place those in the ocean?
The idea here is that less smoke is directly emitted into the atmosphere. It plays as eco friendly but in reality its probably to avoid giving the workers lung problems by living near diesel generators for weeks.

Beautiful an architecture masterpice.
Weird how most oil rigs are dying out and here comes Shell with a brand new one.
Dying out? Oil is more popular than ever.
@@ILovePancakes24 I was talking about Oil Rigs not the oil itself.
There might be only handful of oil rigs that have been made in the past 20 years.
The cost of maintaining it, transporting people to and forth every 2-3 weeks, transporting supplies for operating the rig and transporting the oil itself back to the shore is not that feasible compared to just drilling on the land.
All oil rigs eventually run dry. It's normal since they're extracting a finite resource. They're not designed to go on forever. Once it's no longer profitable, they move on and find fresh oil.
Very impressive
Men built the world, thank you

How do they decide where to set up the rig in the ocean?
Wherever they discover oil. They have various ways of detecting where oil will be. They get a general idea of a good oil supply then they go out abs investigate the best spot to extract it. Set up the rig, drill into the sea floor, then pump out the oil.
