    Bless you for actually going thru the steps instead of just going on about what you did and how great it is. I’ve been intel for a decade (since AMD’s 1090T) so I’m lost in the AMD BIOS.

    My PBO settings for my setup (using cheap vetroo v5 cooler):
    RYZEN 7 5800X "Gold Sample" per Ryzen CTR
    PPT: 117w TDC: 80a EDC: 120a
    CURVE OPTIMIZER: -25 ALL CORES
    (My cpu is a "gold sample" according to Ryzen Clock Tuner, you may need to lower to -20 or -15 for stability)
    MAKE SURE TO TEST with core cycler (by Sp00n), as well as doing light web browsing as that will cause core cycler to trip up and trigger errors easier.

    • @aabbf3
      @aabbf3 2 года назад +1

      Ryzen CTR doesn't seem to be a decent stress test at all. I used it on my supposed gold sample 5800x and it said 4.8ghz settings, went to rune cinebench instant crash.

    • @realforest
      @realforest 2 года назад

      @@aabbf3 Use corecycler by spoon if changing values with the curve optimizer offset, do some light web browsing while stressing as well, you can find errors faster.

    I have a 5700g would I get away with the same voltage as your 5800X on it at 4.5 or 4.6GHz. If I wanted a 4.6 (I know some say don't bother) but if I did what starting voltage could be a good point for my APU? Cool video by the way. What colour liquid do you have in your custom loop?

    • @tisikygaming
      @tisikygaming  2 года назад +1

      I would just go with 1.200v cpu core, and then try maybe 4.4Ghz see if it passes folding@home for a few hours without errors. If it does maybe try for 4.5ghz. I wouldnt get worked up on trying for 4.6Ghz, you could probably run these chips at 4.0Ghz and still have no CPU bottleneck! The loop just uses distilled water for two reasons. Firstly I dont have the PC on show its next to my pc desk, and I dont want coloured liquid to stain my parts!

    Don’t do this. Leave cpu ratio on auto. And under voltage set a negative offset for -0.05 or something in that area. You will get similar voltages and higher clock speeds and lower temps. Way better for gaming and productivity. And you allow the cpu to actually down clock.

    • @born2slay_yt1997
      @born2slay_yt1997 Год назад

      why what did he do wrong may i ask ? is doing this means that your cpu wont go lower than 4.5ghz on idle ?

    • @tisikygaming
      @tisikygaming  Год назад

      @@born2slay_yt1997I did nothing wrong. He is just saying you should do it different to allow lower core clocks and voltage. But with this chip by Vcore was plenty low enough.

    • @strumash2565
      @strumash2565 Год назад

      Well we always have to consider single threaded applications or applications that put most of the load on 1 core. These settings will stop single cores boosting properly ie, to near 5ghz so for an all core set clock and low volt setting it works but it's probably reducing the cpu effectiveness in many areas. I've also been struggling with heat myself I'm trying to use the voltage curve optimiser then the cpu will even boost all core higher but will also maintain its single core performance and hopefully lower temps as my 5800x will easily jump above 80c and just not comfortable with that even though AMD said those temps were fine for a 5800x. The thermal issue is the single CCD I think I seen a video months back that explained the issues with the tdp of these chips and out of box mobo settings but can't find it again sadly

    • @tisikygaming

      Greetings! PBO is disabled, I just use the manual OC settings here from the video, so that it runs at 4.5ghz 1.20v 24/7. It works fine for me, as during idle the CPU still uses only ~25W.

  • @born2slay_yt1997
    @born2slay_yt1997 Год назад

    so if you set the cpu ratio or clock to 4.5ghz for example like you did it means that this clock speed is the new base clock so the cpu will always be on 4.5ghz on idle ? or how does it work ?

      Clearly something else is wrong with your computer, if you followed my guide there would be nothing wrong with your pc. It’s impossible to break a computer by undervolting it.
