Actually this movie reminds me of the classic sci fi themes which I'm a fan of so its win win for me, and Tom always adds a darker element to each character he plays which is better than the usual likable or comedic type. Edge of Tomorrow, War of the Worlds, Minority Report, call me crazy but I think Tom is the Sci-Fi king and he should do more of these.
If you didn't give a shit why did you write a response? If you thought his brain wasn't functional, why would you write a response that he wouldn't be able to read? The vast intellect you've demonstrated here is amazing.
To this day, I can't listen to this song in public because it brings me to tears. First time I played it, I was on the train and the tears would not stop. M83 are amazing and Susanne's voice is phenomenal. Such warmth and passion. ❤️
Ridiculously undervalued by Rotten Tomatoes. This movie is a masterpiece of Science Fiction, with a tremendous sound track, and this mesmerizing song!! Wow!!
Eight years after I saw this movie on cinema, and after watching Interstellar, Cloud Atlas, the edge of tomorrow and Dune, I can say with absolutelly no doubt that Oblivion is still my number one movie from those. And the soundtrack... Gosh! It´s F* BRILLIANT! Probably one of the best I heard in many years!!! This song closes the soundtrack and the movie with a gold key, It´s a total masterpiece.
I haven't seen the movie, but the song touches me so deeply. It feels so wide, fulfilled and deep... It just makes me feel free in some way. Anyone else? I just want to know that I am not the only one that makes my emotions tremble.
I love the movie. I watch it everytime I see it's on. And the song it's one of my favorite of all time...it makes me feel sad and alone...happy...excited...and it makes me feel like I'm alone because I feel I live I suffer music...and even when it's music without lyrics they still say things to me. Then I read comments like these in this kind of videos and I don't feel alone anymore :)
This movie is so underrated the soundtrack and the cinematography are stunning throughout. First time I watched it I instantly knew it would be up there with top sci fi movies.
Omar Beydoun That's your opinion, but I personally thought it was very good. Tom Cruise was great, interesting plot and characters, there was character development and a great score. I think it's a very good sci-fi movie and represents the genre well.
Omar Beydoun Actually Sir, I think you have it backwards. It takes intelligence to see the depth and the meaning of this film. Actors are not meant to carry a film unless it has no content. This film says so much more than you seem to realize or notice. Perhaps you might consider watching it again but try to watch from a different perspective to possibly see what you may have missed throughout. One thing it could have done without was the damn southern drawl of the controller woman. THAT was hard to listen to...but, as it turns out, all this is a fiction created by the alien race who apparently got carried away with creating her. Soooo yeah. Peace!
Since I was young, I knew I’d find you But our love was a song sung by a dying swan And in the night, you hear me calling, You hear me calling And in your dreams you see me falling, falling Breathe in the light I’ll stay here in the shadow Waiting for a sign, as the tide grows Higher, and higher, and higher And when the nights are long All those stars recall your goodbye, your goodbye And in the night you'll hear me calling, You'll hear me calling And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling And in now you'll hear me calling, You'll hear me calling And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling Breathe in the light and say goodbye Breathe in the light and say goodbye.
I don't know what the production company asked M83 to do for this song. But imagine it was along the lines of: Production Company: "We're making an insane futuristic Sci-Fi movie featuring Tom Cruise. We need you to construct us a song with an EPIC drum pattern, and *INSANE* vocals. Can you do it?" M83: "Pfffft, no problem, we're on it." This song is a masterpiece I personally come back to it all the time.
I personally think this movie is the best sci-fi movie to come out in the last ten years. This wasn't adapted from a comic book, a Tween novel, and is a stand alone movie. I cannot for the life of me think why this movie didn't do better except that audiences are so programmed now for the BIG special effects, action sequences all throughout, etc. This movie even at only 2 hours is what some could call epic. It has a phenomenal soundtrack and the visuals are stunning in every way. Instead of using CGI to make the environment, they used the natural environment with CGI to help complement it. I am not a huge fan of Tom Cruise but he did an excellent job here and why has no one heard of Andrea Riseborough before? She held her own in this film as Victoria. I think as time goes on and more and more people see this it will spread on its own to become a cult classic if nothing else. I noticed that it might not have done as well as hoped at the box office, but when it came out on Blue Ray it was #1. That says something. I think we have gotten too used to big flashy action pictures that are non stop and mindless and when something like this film came along, that made us THINK, most people didn't bother with it. It's a shame because this film is one of those that comes along every so often that just gets to you in a weird way. The more you see it, the more stunning it becomes.
Bayan: Everything you said was exactly what I thought..I was just blown away by it and the soundtrack and the performances...really something special you don't get very often. This song will always be in my favorites. We ARE an effective team.
This film was peak aethstic, both cinematography and sountrack-wise. The plot is run-of-the-mill sci-fi which dented its intial perception, but the fact that I am still revisiting this video almost 10 years after its release should be a testament to how much imprint it left upon a lot of people.
This movie is amazing. A huge masterpiece. I was only able to appreciate this movie on second viewing after watching the deleted scenes (eg with the medkit) and while taking notes. Even during the opening monologue alone, they gave us a vital part of the storyline, not some throwaway exposition background which I interpreted as such in my first viewing. There are so many beautiful shots in this movie too, with great contrasting undertones. Joseph Kransinki is a phenomenal director and I look forward to him directing Top Gun: Maverick.
Can't stop listen to this song. Her voice gives me goosebumps all the time. ♥️ Have this song in my playlist right next to 'SILENT POETS - Asylums for the Feeling'. Another track that gets me right in the feels.

extremely underrated movie ! Incredible music just to sit, relax and meditate. Helps to reflect on life and meaning. Siuzannes voice gives off a strong melodic feeling in my soul. Haunting yet genuinely perfect for this kind of inspiring music.
This movie was fantastic. And then it ends on that great scene and this fantastic song. I'm a huge fan of M83 - so it's great to see them given this opportunity to reach a wider audience with their majestic sound.
When I say this song is awesome, I'm not just mimicking random people who say words they don't understand or really mean. This is an awe-inspiring song in an awe-inspiring film.
i come back to this song every so often and it still amazes me how long it has kept me company. from the times i fell asleep with it with my gf on loud, wispering the lyrics together. to my darkest days, not being sure if i was able or even want to keep going on. i will be forever gratefull for this song.
@eating sugar no papa Same! I remember when it first came out and I was shocked that most people just didn't like it/Get it. I must admit though, Sci-Fi is one of my favourite genres, along with Horror and Fantasy. 👍
I watched this film on a whim on Netflix, and even after they stupidly gave away half the plot with their idiotic autoplay preview, was absolutely blown away by it. And then the credits roll and this absolute masterpiece drops and ups it to 110%. I think about it almost every day.
I watched movie couple times before and i like it so much! Maybe it's because i like futuristic worlds with apocalyptics scenarios and alien machines etc. But also that for that i can see this movie likeable for others but it's totally underrated :/ I can highly recommend this movie!
+Nickk888SAMP Many people can't see the depth of this movie including my friend who got confused throughout the screening and I had to explain it to her. The post-apocalyptic theme in this movie was more scary than you think- that the alien species will use one or two of our kind in this case to turn against ourselves. The mission to titan was to source for resources for humankind but it turned against us. Despite that the beauty of the film also shows the level of sub consciousness humans express in the case between Harper and Vika. They have been cloned to be together but yet deep in Harper's mind, he knew he was missing something terribly and Vika was not the one he loved and it even got transferred to the clone.
+Nickk888SAMP - definitely one of the most underrated films. It was a fantastic movie. I think many people didn't like it because it could be confusing if you only casually watched it like a typical action movie, which it isn't. It's a thinking movie, you have to follow it. But if you do, you are rewarded with one of the most astonishing stories - very thought provoking, hauntingly so. I thought about this movie for weeks after seeing it. It is not only an awesome science fiction story, but an awesome love story. In fact it is very unusual in that the love story is at the core of the science fiction. You gotta see it if you haven't. Definitely my favorite Tom Cruise movie. And the theme, that is hinted throughout and then played in full with lyrics at the end is super emotional when you listen to the words that match the story - so sad and eery, hauntingly beautiful."...breath in the light.... and say goodbye." Still gives me chills.
breathtaking and beautiful "Oblivion" (feat. Susanne Sundfør) Since I was young, I knew I'd find you But our love was a song sung by a dying swan And in the night, you hear me calling You hear me calling And in your dreams you see me falling, falling Breathe in the light I'll stay here in the shadow Waiting for a sign, as the tide grows Higher, and higher, and higher And when the nights are long All those stars recall your goodbye, your goodbye And in the night you'll hear me calling You'll hear me calling And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling And in the night you'll hear me calling You'll hear me calling And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling Breathe in the light and say goodbye Breathe in the light and say goodbye
One of my favorite SciFi soundtracks next to Vangelis' Blade Runner. Susanne killed this song!! I Love It!! Play it at least 5 times in succession everytime I hear it!!
Breathless epic song. Love it - can listen to it again and again......, movie was one of the best movies I ever saw...., would highly appreciate to see more of this.
After so many years it remains the most perfect song and video on the entire platform. Thank you so much for your beautiful work, you made this video with soul
Além , de ser um filme muito bom tem uma trilha sonora muito bonita, me lembrou as trilhas sonoras dos anos 80 , de novo o tom Cruise acertou parabéns pelo filme.

And in the night you'll hear me calling
You'll hear me calling
And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling
And in the night you'll hear me calling
You'll hear me calling
And in your dreams you'll see us falling, falling
Breathe in the light and say goodbye
Breathe in the light and say goodbye

Nothing like a perfectly done soundtrack to a movie that makes you feel like you’re watching it while staring at a wall. Great song!

Amazing music for a nice movie.
Além , de ser um filme muito bom tem uma trilha sonora muito bonita, me lembrou as trilhas sonoras dos anos 80 , de novo o tom Cruise acertou parabéns pelo filme.
Loved this movie, so underated IMO
I love this film, it reminds me off Mass Effect in a way, with the soundtrack and sharp style.
