Brilliant work 👏 Loved this. Thanks very much. For anyone interested, the Manor House became 'out of bounds' to staff and students in July 2014. There have been plans to sell the house off and convert it into luxury apartments but there has been outcry over this, as the University still intends to keep running the campus (in the many other buildings on the land). Only the house and formal gardens would be sold. Due to the backlash, all plans are still on hold....6 years later.
Superb Alex. That Hothouse conservatory sold that to me. Beautiful beautiful building. Thanks Alex, taking all the risks so we can all enjoy your finds!
Watching from S.E. Tennessee, and I’m blown away how such a beautiful building could simply be left to rot. Thank you for yet another fantastic exploration, gentlemen!
The problem is money. These vast properties just after WWII attracted astonishing amounts of tax so that families sold the contents and gave the properties to the state or applied to demolish. Some were taken as institutions others became used schools or research institutes. These were run by companies who made profits or losses. Land was sold off the buildings remained but could not be demolished by this time but were severely expensive to maintain and were left to rot by companies that were headquartered abroad. They don’t care and would like these to fall down and sell the sites. The houses themselves have no validity today as you can well see. They were only viable to highly monied people 120 years ago or more who could engage very large staffs for little money.
Absolutely gorgeous property! The woodwork is stunning. I couldn’t get over the size of this place. Great episode. Thanks for bringing us to these great places.
I think the majority of the lowest level was for science-based research on plants. None of it looked like biology of anything else. When this place was a college, students may have studied about farming. Loved the video guys, Thanks. This is a gorgeous place to explore and then show us all you've seen. So Thanks again.
Prof. Michael Hassell (named on one of the notices) is an important internationally renowned biologist, working primarily on insect ecology. There is nothing particularly secretive in the research work carried out here at Imperial College Silwood Park campus, previously and now - just making best use of available space at the time.
WOW.. You explore some wonderful places... Such Beautiful woodwork and that stained glass window at the end, gorgeous... Look forward to the next one... Thanks so much Alex!
Wow beautiful facade, enjoyed seeing all the old woodwork, still some beauty in some of the rooms indoors, interesting the greenhouse still in good condition,a little eery seeing the storage/lab rooms in the basement, thxs for the explore Alex, enjoyed it👍😊🇨🇦😊
Super building with some very interesting features. Eddie, may I say reminds me of a runaway train. I do not think I have come across an explorer as fast as he. And he does not seem to get out of puff. lol. Hope this great building is saved and goes on to be occupied for a long time to come. Thanks for the great video, guys.
Really enjoyed this exploration guys... All sorts of ideas run through my head when I see these rooms (especially that chain and lock). Better you than me! Will keep on watching from New Zealand. Be careful 😮
A very cool explore, there was some pretty cool detail in that section with the railings etc, they are probably keeping the heat on to stop any damp. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 🥰
I can't believe such thing is abandoned. It cost millions. If the owner want to move he could just sell the mansion on discount. He could still earn millions and help another to get excellent mansion.
So crazy! These places are insane. The fact that they had multiple uses over the years is incredible enough but then to see them abandoned or at least out of use is wild. Makes sense as they must be a nightmare to keep in good condition and to run/heat etc but looking at the billions of pounds that the 1% have and the thousands of people without homes and then you get places like this just sitting there…it’s all so screwed up. Anyway, thanks for the amazing explores guys! Keeping me sane at work 🤣
It is eye watering the amount that has to go in to just basic maintenance, let alone restoration! Such a cool place to look around, I'm glad I could distract you at work for a bit 😉 Cheers for watching 👍
Alex are you educated on Tartaria history that has been untold..when you are exploring these beautiful buildings and you are blown away by the architecture this because its not built us... Look up "Auto didactic" on RUclips and a understanding of this will come to light. when you are exploring you have a better vision at what you are looking at.. Sadly all these buildings are mostly in hands of gov or elites. this to hide our history..but its coming to light💞🙏🌻
The locust room: The locust room also known as the chamber of locusts, it’s the second chamber inside the apocalypse temple. It was introduced in EP 44 The perfect swarm. just looked that name up but can’t be good what they have done down there.
Wow that place was huge.. Wonder what went on in the basement? Not seen anyone else explore this one. Nice to see both Vacant Haven's not forgetting pompeye. Take care guy's. 👍
Really enjoyed this one, especially Nedd catching you both out. Nice rooms upstairs but those cellars were a bit weird, keep up the good work Alex its definitely appreciated. 👍
Great video Alex really enjoyed this explore what an amazing place such a shame yet again it's just sitting there going to waste and rotting away, keep up the good work 👍 and great content 👍💖 thanks for sharing 👍
I've watched a few of your videos now and so grateful for the chance to see inside these magnificent buildings. Please can I recommend a channel called My Lunch Break. He's been deep diving on these old building, he's uncovered much that has been hidden. ❤
@VacantHaven thanks for responding. One of the reoccurring themes with these ancient buildings is the amount of time they took to design and construct, most are usually completed in under 2 years, bear in mind they were all built without so much as an electric screw driver, as power tool didn't come into use until the late 1800s, long after these building were erected. The other problem that seems to go with these buildings is the lack of a building merchants' names being provided, the suppliers and transporters of materials required. I'm sure what you and your mates are doing has come at the right time for the right reasons.
Awesome and super quick explore. I loved the woodwork in that Atrium and some of the grand rooms with those ceilings. I think Pompeye is right about the conservatory - should be full of Parrots! 🦜🦜🪴🥬🦜🦜
Brilliant an explore with Sat Nav Ed and Incognito Ed and our Alex. Interesting place with a few secrets hidden in the basement by the looks. Great explore......no climbing lol. Thanks Alex xx
They state on the website that this Imperial College campus was focused on biological ecology and evolution. So why did they build a nuclear reactor here in 1965?
Yes theres some rot here and there but seriously...there shouldn't be any homeless people or families struggling after job loss. Places like this could be given the basics in the better safer areas to give dry short term living for genuine cases .even a week or two up to a few months it could be life changing. Unbelievable how the power is still on...shameful 😢

Interesting, I was wondering why it's just sitting there abandoned. Thanks for the info. 🙌🙋🏻♀️🙌

Yeah with all the homelessness.. you'd think they'd use some of these old building...

Stunning house
Amazing beauiful house and ground are 🌹 lovely
Thanks for another interesting explore lads👍
The face on the fireplace is the all seeing eye. The SON.SUN.
How do the plants get water in a glass enclosure? The place reminds me of a sanatorium.
There would be a sprinkler and humidity system to keep it warm and moist, almost tropical.
Very cool place
hey Guys I enjoy the videos I give It a thumbs up everytime , just never comment. So I look forward to them every Sunday.
Thanks for the comment, glad you're enjoying the adventures 👍
Guys love the building outside nice big rooms hope someone will buy the building furniture gone so some ones moved out
Oh labs as in "laboratories". I thought you found Laboradors under the house.
Crazy but an interesting historical building
Who’s paying the electricity bills?? Could it be experimental food, crops lavatory, making mosquito proof crops??
Awesome video!

They state on the website that this Imperial College campus was focused on biological ecology and evolution. So why did they build a nuclear reactor here in 1965?
That's why the heating is still on!
Do you think heating was on to protect those beautifully preserved architectural features. The basements were staggering. I am dumbfounded.
Amazing place
One solid steel safe, and two bank-type vaults (one of them locked tight).
This looks like one of the locations where the UK mini series of War of The worlds was filmed.
I love castle and I hope do more videos
They used to study biological pest, disease, and weed management there.
I hope you used sage before and after!
I used to live next to this, and the new facilities are just around the corner.
There's a decommissioned nuclear reactor there.
Fabulous building but obviously caretakered
Check for bones in the furnaces.
Whose watering the indoor plants
