Imagine being the security guard watching your live feed. He gets the shock of his life when he turns around to see you guys gazing into his security office!
I love this old building so much history, and the excitement of hiding from the security guard, kept me on the edge of my seat. You guys are awesome, can't wait for the next adventure!
Not a million miles away was the old Netley military hospital, that was the daddy of all hospitals. Ive read that when the American army used Netley in WW2, the corridors were so big, they drove jeeps up and down to save walking.
What a fantastic find and good that you returned with the others! A real maze of rooms and corridors - cat and mouse chase - glad you didn’t get caught😓 Knew you’d be up through the loft hatch - Ninja Alex at his best 🤣 Nice to see inside before it all gets redeveloped - thanks for a great video 👍👍
Best of these video's I've seen. I couldn't do this because I'd end up in fits of laugher once security were on my case. Just wouldn't be able to help myself. On a more serious note, really interesting exploration at a hospital with a long history. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers.
@@VacantHaven yes I used to be a nurse and the hospital I worked in they closed so many sections down and it only had one floor running and it was used for a rehabilitation program but they are now doing it back up and reopening it back into a normal hospital again they found that they needed more beds as all the other hospitals are full I’m glad that they are doing this as it was still fairly modern inside.
I agree with you. I find it so sad how some developers have no care what so ever about historical things. They call it progress which I think is bull crap but at the same time they are erasing important history by all their destruction . I have seen it so many times in some cities that I have lived in. One day all will be lost and that is sad
I think that its wonderful how you always do research on the buildings that you explore if you can. It gives that much more insight on the properties. I really have been enjoying your videos.
Love seeing you guys together it's more fun 😁 haha it's funny with all the Alarms going off everywhere 😆 the security will be going mad trying to figure out what's happening 😆
Cool explore. Loving the channel It was weird hearing you say the hospital is old, Im from canada and we have functional in use hospitals here in similar conditions. If that was here, they would probably still be using it. The hospital i had my eye surgery in the other week, was so old they still had the old school marble walls & decorative molded ceilings. The old "air tube" message system was still there, but locked off. I snuck around the ancient creepy basement before getting caught and claiming I got lost looking for the cafeteria lol
Back in 1991 we used to go to the Holloway sanatorium in Virginia water, it had been abandoned for many years, but we used to get in and spend hours exploring it,it was absolutely massive we also found padded cell's, the sheer size of this place was totally insane, pardon the pun,i believe it closed in 1980,it was a stunning gothic building, it was fully renovated in the mid to late 90's,it had huge stone staircases, tapestry on the walls the list goes on, really getting in to your channel, absolutely brilliant, and huge room's with rows of beds in.
Brilliant find . Well done guys . I was scared for you at times . Thinking there gonna be a guard behind the doors . Fascinating , but sad to wonder what may of gone on in there . Well done for being Spider-Man going up that clock tower . How do you know where yous were going ? Lol Such a huge place . Thankyou
Hi Alex & Ed, Alex you are quite literally Spider Alex 😂 awww no ebomb bell up in that clock tower lol. Ask Matt to take you to the caves with the red door and cathedral inside them. What an awesome explore, it was cool seeing all of the older parts and that stage too, it was made better by the cat and mouse game being played lol. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 🥰
What a place to get lost in , so many twisty hallways and more rooms than you can imagine . Thanks for a very interesting trip through time , can't imagine what it would have been like full of patients and doctors .Till next time, take care , Stuart in Canada ..
Morning Guy's, Just stumbled across this video. Great walk through although a bit sketchy with the guards! Brought back loads of great memories as i was an Estates officer here between 1998-2002. Just a quick cautionary note to all. Some of the basement areas were riddled with asbestos even brown so please observe any signage if you go down. Keep up the good work.

I don’t come from Portsmouth ( Sussex) but my Dad was in the Navy so he always took us the Naval Docks on “ Navy day” Southsea was a favourite too 👍🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰🐾🥰
I assume the modern units are still used, I used to visit a friend who was regularly committed here 20 years ago. Always surprising that such a sprawling campus existed on such a cramped island. Very peaceful around the grounds, compared to some of the mayhem in the wards.
Fantastic explore! I just knew, when you showed that little hatchway on the ceiling, that you'd try climbing up there! Ha! Glad you did, that clock tower was amazing. I bet you liked to climb as a child and that thrill never left. 😁 Great video!
Hey did you guys happen to find anything inside related to the masonic items that might have said a lodge number of some kind , those are the worshipful masters and past masters chairs
Good explore, but that Masonic stuff is just in storage, I’m not sure what lodge it belongs to (did you see a lodge name and number anywhere?) but there are no lodges meeting at this site at the moment. Be well, go carefully and peace be with you.
VacantHaven thanks for sharing with me this video i really enjoyed this place was big and i really enjoy these kinds of videos i watched you go through this building and i could not believe how big that place was it looks like it is going to be demoished because they have fences all around the building. it looks like the place can be used for something else. i am from the U.S.A and i really enjoyed your you tube channel i have a big you tube channel too i just hope you will join me like i joined you i hope so and God Bless and thanks again.

This reminds me of Scooby-Doo when they were chased through the same doors. Definitely some mysteries to be solved in that building.
Great episode. I bet a lot of bad happened there with the masons… it’s a repetitive pattern in every asylum
Like what?
Infamous in Portsmouth and surrounding areas this place is. Great to see inside, well done lads 👌
What a fantastic find and good that you returned with the others!

I’m very surprised that Masonic stuff was left . 😮
Ha! What a fun channel. A couple of guys sneaking around old buildings ditching security .Reminds me of being a kid
What an awesome explore, parts of the building were beautiful. Loved the clock tower, thanks for taking us along with you.
You're welcome Kath, it had to be done this one!
Alex, there’s no way I thought you’d climb that ladder to the clock tower! Fair play….you are brave in the name of entertaining us!
I bloody love a climb mate 👍👍

It’s so sad to see old buildings like these being pulled down and destroyed for new ones to replace them great work guys in showing use this video
It really is considering how much this served the local community.

Plenty for you to catch up on as well 😁👍
Why would they want a Masonic Lodge in a Asylum that's crazy
Maybe a live In security 🤔
Excellent explore, glad you busted the clock tower. Good team also. Pompeye is like the front man scout.
Looking forward to seeing this Alex 👍

Great explore, such a beautiful collection of buildings, Thx Alex 👍 ❤
It's a beautiful building. I wish someone would renovate it. It would make a great apartment/condo complex.
The whole site is planned for redevelopment of over 2000 homes, it's a listed building so that will stay.

Im sure that was the place American writer Bill Bryson worked at. He talks about it in his book The Road to Little Dribbling. A great book.
