She is a fantastic actress. If I read that she stars in a movie, I know it will be a good one. I haven't seen all of her movies yet, but I will.
There is many types of murders and murderers…, betty was a victim of emotional abuse, which is the worst type of abuse, but people stil underestimate this type of abuse…, she was also a victim of ractive abuse composed with blame shifting. There should be more law for abusive, NPD cheaters ( they are very calm, cunning, and so charming for strangers but not for the loved ones)
She dropped her kids off one by one at Dan's house. A really loving mother right!!! She wanted more money. She wanted to keep living in the same lifestyle that she had, and Dan did buy her that beautiful house, gave her a generous amount of money each month, paid for the kids needs etc. She enjoyed the spoils of his labour for many many years. She was used to that, and didn't want to alter her life at all. At one point in the movie it said that she wanted more money, well Betty, you didn't get anything now did you. You should have taken the very generous offer from Dan, and lived a great lifestyle, and carried on with your life.
That it what she should have done, it would most certainly be enough for me to get on with my life. But on the other hand she couldn't accept that she was the foundation for his wealth, by working many years she provided for him to make his dream possible. Also the rejection issue, he just replaced her with younger version. Sure over the years she developed bad reach woman attitude, they all do. Her problem was she couldn't let go,bitterness took over. This is such a tricky one for me,usually it is much easier to take a side.

She wanted them back when she realized it didn’t bother him. If she was so smart, she should have realized she set a dangerous precedent.

A narcissist doesn’t know how to be a friend. Remember, one lady tried to stay by Betty’s side and be a friend. When the friend gave her good advice, Betty kicked her out of her life because it wasn’t what Betty wanted to hear. Betty ruined her children’s lives for the sake of revenge… Narcissistic people are dangerous and destructive.

She is the one that broke her family up by her actions., in the first movie, you saw how ungrateful she was nothing was ever good enough, and she acted like a little brat. So it was really her fault that her family fell apart. Her husband couldn’t take it anymore and I don’t blame him for walking out. I don’t know what people are talking about in these comments, oh poor Betty give me a break she was a nutcase. She was a narcissist. She needed mental attention and needed to be in a psych ward. That’s how I see it now I’m gonna watch part two which should be interesting. Considering part one was a real mindblower. Who drives their car into somebody’s house really?

Meredith was "Betty Broderick" what an actress. She deserved an Oscar for her performance. I think this movie was entertaining but did not follow exactly what happened. Dan and Linda were no angels. They did a lot of disgusting things to Betty. Yes, Dan and Linda were dating before they separated. Dan continued to tell her she was imagining things that were not happening, when in fact they were. After they separated, Linda would send ads for anti-aging cream to Betty in the mail saying she needed this badly. It is true, Dan did buy a house for Betty after the divorce but the house was in his name only, not hers. And she had to pay part of the mortgage with the money he gave her each month. He also did add fines if she would call and say something he didn't like and then deduct it from the monthly allowance he gave her. The oldest daughter was written out of her fathers will, and she did not know it until after his death. She did not live with her father because Linda and she did not get along. I have not only seen the movies but read a couple of books and they included court transcripts. Linda had a history of going after other men that had money. She worked as a flight attendant but was fired for having sex in the lavatory with a passenger. I'm not saying what Betty did was right, murder is never the answer. But I can understand why she felt like no one was on her side. She lost all the friends she had for all those years because they did not want to see her after her and Dan separated because they were still friends with him. She felt like she lost everything. She devoted her life to supporting him, first through medical school, then law school. She worked to support the family so he didn't have to worry about working at all. I can understand why she felt used. And I know that the right thing to do was to take the alimony he paid her which was like $14,000 per month and live her life and be happy. It is a sad situation for their children to loose both parents. They are the true victims in all of this.
They should've let her out on house arrest with an ankle monitor. Why didn't they think of that when they were at the bail hearing?
Meredith played a spot on role as she deserves an Oscar! Betty and I can say this with confidence growing up with a family of 16 as a narcissistic mother she was bat shit crazy she wanted to control Dan and when she lost control she went nuts. It almost happened to me when I divorced my husband but I am confident why I did as I was more of a “house manager” as before I knew him a high profile Broker for almost 3 decades and all that was taken away. So was I mad when I filed yes I was because I lost apart of me that I was given “false promises” to and now just coming back!!! I feel for Betty but this is all in her for now moving along…!

Imagine if you'd given the best years of your life to build a partnership, worked to support your husband while he built his career, promised "til death do we part". Then one day, you're 40 and he trades you in for a much younger model. He takes everything from you, your children, your social circle, he controls the money. You're left with nothing, not even friends and kids. Your whole world has been taken away from you. He stabbed her in the back (metaphorically speaking, used her, screwed her over).
Some women start from scratch, recover as best they can. Some women suicide. Betty chose a bad option. He and his new wife weren't worth the cost of the bullets.
I feel that yes she broke the law by killing them but I dont think she deserves to be in prison the rest of her life. She worked 5 jobs to support him while he was in college and he traded her in for a younger model when he finally made it. I feel sorry for her.

I don't know the real story ( didn't watch documentaries etc) so just from this movie portrait, watching part one and now two- was disgusted with husband actions ( eyeing young women in Irish party) then spending with her whole day on his bday, that was clear betrayal move - middle age crisis with younger, desirable woman and women desiring status and money, disregarding mother of his children who equally was responsible for their success, status and family...but I was equally disgusted with her fury actions of destroying things, putting her rage in from of children - proving she's more concerned for herself then them - then Linda was clear asshole - I have no sympathy for women who destroy families - married man- stay away - simple. So three of them were very flawed, unlikeable characters really and only real victims here are children caught up in the middle of this triangle madness....my heart goes out to them ❤

And then Dan even left one of his children out of his will for getting in trouble and drugs after ever thing these parents put these kids through you wouldn’t think the children or a child would act out! That showed how easily Dan could just discard a person.Betty’s oldest daughter wrote a book and wrote a letter to the patrol board not to release her own mother! The other 3 children still go see their mother and stay in contact and wrote letters for their mothers release to the parole board the middle daughter even said Betty could live with her family. One thing I believe Betty loved her children! I think Betty should have been released she served her time.
