This is a very sad story. I actually met Irene Silverman to do some work for her for my company, and I was in her beautiful home - circa 1985 (I've only seen 30 minutes of this, but she showed me the picture/painting of her in the NYC Ballet - brought a lump to my throat). She was a loving, trusting (too much) person. People were always coming and going. Fast forward to the NY Times articles about her disappearance and subsequent death. I was heartbroken that people like the Kimes are out there. I'm not a vindictive person, but I hope Kenneth Kimes lives a LONG life and gets as close to parole on his 126 year sentence as is possible. RIP, Irene Silverman - you were a gentle, loving, giving soul.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS listen to your dogs. They know when people are up to no good. Three years ago my mom, and I were getting ready for a Christmas party on Christmas Eve. The front door was open, and the security door was closed. All of a sudden our 130 pound Newfoundland Black Lab mix started barking like crazy, the hair on his back was raised, his teeth were showing, and was lunging for the door. We went to the door to find out what was wrong. There was a guy there who was “selling” home security systems. We told him “We have a system, and our dog as well.” As the guy was walking off our dog tried to get through the front window. Yeah I’d say he wasn’t selling home security systems door-to-door on Christmas Eve. We called all our neighbors to let them know what was going on.

Devonte Huntley when my dogs hair is standing up on the his back, his tail is tucked under his butt, his ears are down, and he’s barking it’s because whoever is at my door is up to no good. I know the difference between my dog barking at some random person walking by my house, and my dog barking because he doesn’t trust whoever it is that is at my door.

Mary Tyler Moore was really talented. Still waters run deep. She really proved herself a talented comedic actress. Later she did some really excellent dramatic roles in TV movies. She gave a powerhouse performance in this TV movie. The evil Sante Kimes was the exact opposite of Mary's good girl image. She was brilliant in this as the manipulative sociopathic mother. Mary was also great in "Ordinary People". Sadly, her movie career never really took off. After 'The Dick Van Dyke Show" she signed a contract with Universal. Mary was a hit in "Thoroughly Modern Millie' then she was shoved into two dreadful Elvis Presley movies "What's so Bad About Feeling Good" and "Change of Habit" and her movie career fizzled. She never gave up and triumphed in "The Mary Tyler Moore Show". Mary was known for being kind to work with and treated her costars and staff well.

Mary Tyler Moore absolutely ROCKED the role of Sante Kimes in this film. 🌟
That said, I saw an interview awhile back with people who knew the real Sante...I believe they were related to her but can't recall. They said Sante was always very selfish & cruel. And that she tortured the family pets & farm animals when she was a little girl. That broke my heart because I'm a huge animal lover. So of course she went on to become a murderer. They said she was a horrible, selfish, awful child...go figure.
Sante is dead now. THANK GOD because WOW she was a piece of $hit for a human being. Some people are just born pure evil & broken. Ding dong, the witch is DEAD!!

That's heresay that she tortured animals. Why would she? She only hurt those who she could gain something from. I believe she was selfish but that is basically because that's all she knew. As a child, he was too busy trying to survive to develop a conscience. No she should not have killed anyone, but accusing her of torturing animals is just sickening, especially because you had to mention how _you_ feel about animals. No1curr BB

@@rileycoyote8275 That information came from her younger sister and was included in an episode on Biography. You can't find a closer witness than that. They grew up together. I, too, feel sick when I hear of people who torture animals. She tortured her sister and others, too. Why? I have no idea, but have no reason to doubt the versatility of their reports. She, obviously, had no conscience.

@@Loveoldies50 Wow really? I'll have to look that up. She was a sociopath so it shouldn't surprise me, and she never let her boys have any pets.

There are self-aggrandizing, self-serving mothers born out of hell, undoubtedly haven't a clue what motherhood is about and ruins whatever possibility a child attains for all their malevolent purposes.

it's too late to "raise" your son when he's a grown man though.
