In 1971 when I was 10, we were up at our cabin in Lake Arrowhead, CA. We were at a little beach area in the village and Sally Field walked right by my friend and I. I had no idea what her name was so I yelled out “Sister Bertrille!!” She was so sweet and turned around with a big smile and waved to us. We were soooo excited to see the “Flying Nun!” 😊

😮from about the 30:29 minutes mark: the submarine captain is an almost unrecognizable Dabney Coleman!! Without a mustache, and so young...

One of her sons is a screen writer who wrote The Town with Ben Affleck. I thought it was interesting the disguises used in the bank job ere nuns (his mama’s first major role).

Well it's no My Mother the Car...thank God. This was a fun little happy show airing at a time when everyone seemed so angry about everything. Maybe we could use a little of that right now.

That convent seems to have plenty of open space. I don't get why they can't just build a small school on their own land. But still a cute show 😂

I always found it interesting how nuns never allowed their hair to show outside their wimple, but Sr. Bertrille sported her Gidget bangs throughout the series.

    Reverend Mother
Sometimes the problem isn't the issue at hand
Sometimes the problem is the people doing the intervention.
This Wisdom needs more acknowledgement across the world.
    Today's problems are yesterday's solutions.
This show is embued with the new Empathy Intelligence of the 60s that challenged the most powerful yet stubborn and Arrogant and immovable institution directed towards doing good but lacking mechanisms for self reflection required for flourishing. Good job to the writers, Sally Fields and performers
