So glad that this fascinating documentary was translated into English. Had a great big crush on Marlon Brando when I first saw his movies in the early 1970's. Really did not understand the complexities of his personality until I saw this video. Was rather sad to find out that he had a rather messed up childhood and that he did not get the love he needed from his parents. But was rather disgusted by the terrible way that he treated the women in his life. Although he seemed to have become a joke by the time he died, I do believe that he deserved to be featured as the cover story of People magazine when he died and that he deserved more praise and recognition when he passed. R.I.P. Marlon Brando

Messed up childhood. Messed up adulthood. Professional versus private life. Two separate things.

My bug bear is the way he treated the women in his life and children in his life. It's not acceptable to say that his behaviour was because of his childhood trauma. If everyone who had the experiences Brandon had and behaved that way then what a World we Would live in. He had choices . Perhaps he was to far down the line and too damaged to see?!😢😮

What they neglected to tell was that Mr. Brando said the love of his life was Wally Cox. Reference: Beauregard Houston-Montgomery has stated that one time, while high on marijuana, Marlon Brando confessed to him that Wally Cox had been the love of his life. There is no way to tell whether this story is true, but Marlon Brando’s everlasting love for Wally Cox is clear whether it is or not.

This was absolutely beautifully made. What a complex man he was. A terrific actor and very handsome man. Such a sad childhood he had. The first movie I ever saw him in was Mutiny on the Bounty. I was just a kid, but I loved it. Thanks to all those who stood by him until the end.

Not a place for a true Christian period. But that's between you and Jesus when you take your last breath. Just look at Diddy? That's Hollywood. And gangster rap crap. Marlon Brando was far from being a sociopath as some initially thought. He had a deep compassion for the underdog, endured a harsh childhood, and faced immense suffering throughout his life. He was not only a phenomenal actor but also incredibly handsome. His passing fills me with great sadness. Thank you, Marlon, for your unforgettable films.

This, from George Englund, is very different from what he wrote in his memoir about Brando. For one thing, he said nothing about there being not chair, did mention nurses in attendance (they were definitely there), lunch, etc. Brando's sister had just been to see him. His children visited him regularly, as did others. In fact, son ran to the hospital the say after Englund's visit when he heard Brando had been taken there, but he was too late. In his memoir, Englund wrote of his shock the day after his visit when one of Brando's nurses told him that Brando had died. They had a complicated relationship.
There are errors in this video. Coppola didn't have to be convinced about Brando. Both Puzzo and Coppola wanted Brando from the beginning.

How sad that his acting is forgotten by the younger generations as they jump to the next and the next big name. Brando's heart and soul, like the handful of our greatest artists, was in his acting. His most heart-wrenching moment, "I could have been a contender, I could have been somebody," expressed for me all the things - the husband, the father, the friend - that he could have been a contender for.

Even though one knew him to be a total degenerate, you had to love him, to be mesmerized by his portrayals on screen. People rave about "The Godfather", but for me it was always "The Wild One". Of course, he was superb in any of his parts, but just the mention of his name has always, and always will, bring forth to my mind's eye one of the many pictures I have of that beautiful man, Marlon Brando.
