Rest in peace, Mark. Your voice will be with us for a long time.
No one else can sing this song other than mark for laney, they really shared some life
RIP Mark Lanegan .....thanks buddy🤘🏻 11/25/64 - 2/22/22
Thank you for showing not only Layne but Mike as well. Much love and respect to Lanegan and Maggie and the MOP.
Only right for someone who fought the same battle to sing it right
And knew Layne INTIMATELY...
@@Hybrid_Pisces exactly. I heard Mark was one of the only people that Layne let step inside his condo. So so sad.
@@OscarOffTheCuff have you read Marks book??? Its so, so good... outlines the 90's in great detail... including that last encounter at Laynes apt when he wasn't letting anyone else in. Its a tough read... but so worth it. There was a an audio version here on YT a few weeks ago but I can't find it now.
What’s the title of the book?
@@PeterDraggin "Sing Backwards and Weep". I've read it twice and will prob read it again... so, so good.
40 seconds in and the hair on my arms standing on end, getting feelings... someone's with me.
Hearing Mark sing the lyric "I'd feel better dead" (@ 2:46) is a bit chilling today 2/22/2022.
Forgot this was in my playlist. Oh boy...Such a sweet version of a perfectly beautiful song. And the damned Shakespearian irony that kicks the tragedy of it all right in the stones, is knowing that Mark was gone, too. This is life, i say to myself. Aint one of us gonna make it to the End. In that i do, strangely, find some comfort. Happy birthday, Layne Staley.
I though about this cover when heard about his passing.... God, such a loss....thanksMark for your incredible kindness and talent, RIP... we'll miss you a lot.
R.I.P. brothers of the movement Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, Andrew wood, Layne Staley, mike Starr, Mark lanegan, van Connor, Baker and all our fallen icons and idols rest easy brothers u will never be replaced or forgotten u are all missed and loved forever 👊😎🤘🤟🤘🤟✌️❤
May I gently add Scott, I miss him too… respect for including Baker though 😢
Mark, Rest in Peace, you should have be one of few people who are allowed to cover this song...
Breaks my heart hearing this after his death. Long live Mark Lanegan 💔💔🎶🎶
RIP Layne, Mike, and now Mark. Thanks for everything.
I’m here because of Mark’s passing, but what a cover version. His voice and the lap steel add a whole new depth of melancholy and dreariness to what is already one of the saddest songs of the era. R.I.P. Mark.
RIP Mark Lanegan, hope you can be with your friends finally 🙏 😢 💔
Reading through the comments and man it really hurts. Mark was such an underrated singer and amazing human being. All of my heros are dead and gone now. Mark, I love you brother.
Ouch! This one hits close to home.. one of the all time greats! you'll be missed and your music will live forever!! Glad I got to shake your hand and thank you for the music. Say hi to Layne.
Watching this tonight, the day after Mike's birthday, the day of Layne's death and knowing that Mark is with them is really hitting hard right now. Been binging AIC all day. LSMSML 🖤
one of my family's favorite songs. we still sing his music today...
Mark, what an absolute hauntingly moving version of Nutshell. Your voice is magical. Your book was an all nighter read. Much respect and appreciation for your musical gifts and collaborations. Abundant blessings. ♥️🙏🏻☮️
To think this is the last time we saw Mark perform. Rest in peace, you beautiful tortured soul 🖤 .

The GraveYards of Seattle are filled with Royalty. If The Dude is coming back in the clouds and resurrecting souls, there no other place I would wanna be..
We all burn bright once. Fuel for the memories.
