I seriously think this is one of the greatest vocal performances I’ve ever seen. Imagine standing there; with Dave Grohl at his most intense since- and Josh Homme, Nick O and Troy raining the hammer of the gods of thunder behind you - and you’re the eye of the hurricane channeling it all and slaying it with that pissed off Irish scrapper face haha. The way he growls ‘ if you’re hanging arounnnnd ‘ -/ Unbelievable. Hats off Mark Lanegan .
Sorry to all fans, I just learned about Lanegan, what a voice!!! Sad to learn his gone! Sounds a bit like Morrison but still got his own thing! Been listening to many different tunes since last night. Golden vocal cords!
I can listen to this over and over and over. Mark and Dave absolutely NAILED it. And it goes without saying what Josh and the fellows did. I didn't know while I was living that Era that grunge and some of the other bands around that Era was going to b the last of real musicians, for the most part. Are there not any younger people getting into music and starting real bands anymore?
I’ve been listening the the audiobook of Mark Lanegan’s memoir “Sing Backwards and Weep” and have been on a pretty big kick lately. This was without a doubt my favorite QOTSA lineup, just unreal. Had Homme & Oliveri, plus Lanegan doing lead vocals on killer tracks like this, and fucking Dave Grohl on drums, just insane. Love this song and this album. R.I.P. Mark Lanegan, an American original and one of my favorite singer/songwriters.
I cannot wait for Neurolink so I can get hooked back up with the fucking 90s again! Plug me in , leave me some booze and close the door on your way out
Not saying I don’t like qotsa still… but this lineup was the absolute prime of this band. This was a group full of talent abs everyone brought something unique to the table… QOTSA went from a group full of badasses, to the Josh Homme show and his minions whom nobody really knows about. Obviously things run their course and nothing lasts forever. But damn this was a hell of a lineup
I think this song in particular shows how much the band has changed. It’s like every time the lineup changed after this, the song lost a little more of what made it so great.
