Lyrics:
Did you hear the distant cry
Calling me back to my sin
Like the one you knew before
Calling me back once again
I nearly, I nearly lost you there
And it's taken us somewhere
I nearly lost you there
Let's try to sleep now
Drag me far enough to know
I'm blind every mile that you burn
There's a rider that's fallen and
It's clear there's no time to return - Видеоклипы
Rest in Peace Mark. A voice that aged like a fine wine, silky smooth as honey, with a hazy bourbony tinge of comfort. Gone too soon
Perfectly said.
Such a wonderful voice 🤘❤🤘
Was Mak Lanegan a catholic?
@@jeffersonaraujoelcristiano No, he was Ginger.
@@woodjunkjrjr2689 , what is "ginger"? I've never heard about that religion.
RIP the two members of Screaming Trees
Mark Lanegan (November 25, 1964 - February 22, 2022), aged 57
Van Conner (March 17, 1967 - January 17, 2023), aged 55
You both will be remembered as legends.

_Two_ guys died?! Sheesh!

I was sad when I heard the news on both artists.. This song has been on my playlist for years. May the music live on 🤘
Mark
Damn... a million years later this song still claps. 😉
One of the most underrated bands ever.
Now this song feels more nostalgic than ever. RIP Mark. He was still young, but left us with a lot of his art to remember him
It's a bit spooky, the international indie music scene has lost a great front man. And the screaming trees...
My favorite Mark Lanegan moment:
It was pretty basic but utterly perfect.
Screaming Trees at the Gorge in George, Washington - I don’t remember if it was a Lollapalooza or something else. My friend and I had great seats front and center right behind the pit.
I was coming back to our seats right when ST started Nearly Lost You with that great guitar riff into those drums. As soon as he started singing I threw my arms in the air and skipped down the aisle in utter joy and made people laugh- perfect weather, great seats, great show and unimaginably gorgeous view. Every time I hear that song it rivets me to that moment.
A perfect day.
#ripmarklanegan
Thanks for your story. Screaming Trees always takes me back to my Seattle days...so saddened to hear the terrible news
What a great memory...I was in the Seattle region from 2002 until 2020. Hard to believe so many are gone. Thank you for sharing.
That's beautiful! It's funny how the most memorable concerts are only party due to the performance. Rather, it's when a number of variables come together (weather, who you're with, substances, etc), and you find yourself in that perfect moment being reminded that you're alive! Thanks for sharing.
BLISS.
it may be that the 90's were the height of civilization and music! RIP Mark, Layne, Chris, Kurt, Scott. Thank you for being the sound track of my life thru to right now!

I'm feeling that kind of sadness when something really unique doesn't exist anymore.
Like the voice of Mark Lanegan and Dolores O'Riordan.
Hard to believe that we will never hear these voices again.

Dammit I miss the 90s
Seriously. 90s had the best music.
I feel like I'm back in high school again. Wearing flannel shirts, driving crappy cars, working stupid jobs and listening to 90s grunge of course. Oh wait, I still do these things!
Me too minus the crappy cars
Ain’t that the truth! And drugs.... lots of drugs.
I feel like I'm back in the 90's too.
So glad I was a teenager in the 90's, before all the social media and PC bullshit. I feel bad for today's kids.
Me too
Rest easy, Mark. As long as we get to hear your music, we will never lose you.
So true!!!!!!!
Let's acknowledge just how cool Mark looks in this clip. With his hair blowing in the wind & grip & stance with the microphone. Then add how great the song is plus his voice. RIP Mark Lanegan. You'll never be forgotten. ❤😭
I swear he had a personal fan he always carried around. Always had that beautiful mane flying!
We did love it.
Yes so fucking sexy cool
Long hair is so awesome on the right guy...but I feel like it either looks awesome or terrible depending on the person.
Not forgetting the bar fistfight he and Barrett Martin had the night before. (not with each other)
Martin with a dislocated shoulder and unable to play,
Lanegan declined the assistance of Letterman's makeup department to conceal his black eye.
RIP Van Conner. Another underrated genius that never got his full recognition
Screaming Trees very underrated, but not by me and others viewing this. They just had the misfortune to being in Seattle/Washington State with the other good to great grunge era bands of the late 80's/early 90's. So, they kind of went under the radar even in their home state. R.I.P. to Van and Mark. The really sad thing is with so many good grunge singers like Mark being gone is that there won't be many great grunge reunion concert tours in the future.
What an absolute legend. You will be much-missed, Mark 👍
Yes he will!!!!!!!!
Mark Lanegan had an iconic voice. One of the leading voices (and one of the best) in the generation of grunge music. Rest in Power.
Great singer of a great band R.I.P
His voice sounded like grunge.. gravely but smooth in the right way- even when he was younger it still sounded like the streets/ backwoods rough life but brite mind I think
Mark sang with so much age in his voice during the line "and it's taken us somewhere". Quite an incredible voice. Hopefully him and Van are playing again in the great gig in the sky.
He would probably not be a good candidate for the song you referenced though haha (or maybe he could?)
There's a awesome jam in heaven these days. How is it that we are losing some of our brightest and best. Nothing newer can compare.
RIP Van Conner … Sentimentos a toda família neste momento tão difícil 🇧🇷😢
Nah, I think music just means more, hits you harder when you’re 15 years old. Everything is new to you, energizing, mind blowing. Just not quite the same at 53.

There are few songs that I hear and immediately get flashbacks to the 90s. This is one of them.
Yeah, when I heard this song again, for the 1st time in 25yrs, I immediately remembered the song from the movie, and from parties I attended in the early 90s. This song instantly lit up so many warm fuzzy memories about that time in my young life, [I was 24 in 1992 when this song was released, and was having a real blast too.....yeah, that was a great time to be a young man in this country. Damn straight, I loved the 90s.

I was 23 in 1992, doing X-Ray school! The first time i saw , ''Nearly Lost You " on MTV, I drove to the record shop and bought SWEET OBLIVION! The entire album is a master piece that many over looked! Now i am 51 yr olds and still have the original LP. One of the greatest thing out of Seattle!!

You my good man have good taste!
That and Uncle Anesthesia. Magnificent.
Being a 1994 HS Graduate I feel sad that I can't relive the enjoyment of hearing new bands of the grunge area make it big with hits like this. Everything is so commercialized, polished, and fake these days. Being a freshman in HS when grudge really got big, looking back on it, was really an experience. IT's like over night, everyone's music tastes changes. The hairbands all seemed to disappear. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and many others became the new normal on the airwaves. Music videos actually meant something back then and they told a story. I'll say this to the kids, as it was said to me by my own Dad. Enjoy life now, it goes fast. In a blink of an eye you go from 18 and looking forward to college to 45 and middle age with a family, mortgage, and probably 30 years left to live. Your body begins to fail you, but your mind feels as fresh as the days you were in high school.
I'm 54, never married, no kids, a painter and sculptor, and only now am I able to pick up the guitar since Kurt died in '94.
I don't care my age. I'm going to rock this generation back to the 90's, then to the 70's, and beyond! Plan B is to never stop pursuing Plan A!
🎨😡🎸
I'm 5 years ahead of you on the road of life but agree wholeheartedly. The early to mid-90s were an amazing time to be a young adult and it hurts my soul to realize I'll never feel that way again.
