Steel Vengeance is just one of those coasters that you can’t hate. Just an all around amazing ride. Can’t beat it.
Agreed!
@@themeparkmark1 how do you record these videos ?
Camera sunglasses
@@themeparkmark1what lol! Do they know your filming because that would be a genius way to film
@@wisdumbhaswon1501 Most coaster youtubers I see have this equipment so it isn't rare to see :)
This ride is intense! The best part is toward the end where you can’t tell which way is up or down.
I’m going to ride this beast for the first time on Sunday and I’m super excited (and a little bit nervous)!
Have fun!
@@themeparkmark1 Thank you, I'll certainly do my best!
Edit: I finally went on this ride yesterday and hooooooooly *MOLY!* It was awesome! Those inversions are something else, let me tell *YOU!*
Oh man, with the sunset, it's epic !
Definitely one of my more memorable rides from last year!
I feel like that constant movement of banking makes RMC coasters feel like they’re, breathing. Alive, like a beast of its own.
That’s a beautiful thing to say
It's what a runaway mine train or most woodies wish they were. Truly a marvel in the history of rollercoasters.
And that goes for most RMC's. They're not everything to everyone, other models still fit into the theme park landscape alongside them, but they're a great addition.
Bucket list coaster for me. Looks amazing. Haven't been to Cedar Point since '89. Great video though, love the sunset too.
Thanks for watching! Definitely a beautiful sunset ride!
I just rode it for the first time yesterday it’s intense my legs were shaking after getting off the ride
That sunset was amazing! Awesome POV and the consistency of your uploads is crazy
Thanks! Will continue to post 1-2 videos per day for the foreseeable future! Got some more coaster marathons as well on the way, stay tuned!
i always try to ride Steel Vengeance as early in the day as possible b/c of the lines, but man it turns out i'm missing out! this coaster looks absolutely beautiful at sunset!
Never rode it before, seems like a cool ride. Hope I can get down there again. Last time I went was in 2017 when they were still building it.
Cedar Point is well worth the visit for this coaster alone! But, there are so many other amazing rides!
I love these vids keep it up!
Thanks for watching! Many more POV's to come from this Ohio/Virginia trip, stay tuned!
Videos never do this ride any justice. Easily a top 3 coaster on my list, up there with the original I-305 and Fury 325. None of which have any equals.
All amazing rides!
Do you like I305 more than Fury? I never got to ride I305 because it was closed when I went to KD but I'm going back soon, and I ride Fury all the time. I'm just curious as to which you think is better.
I flinched so many times just watching this POV I can only imagine how crazy the ride experience is.
Just an intense ride from start to finish!
That vertical drop at the beginning is no joke, you're literally going straight down, no incline
Back row is definitely the highlight for Steve but front row is still very amazing and intense.
Agreed, this is absolutely insane in the back row!
@@themeparkmark1 I have this at number 3 (My number 1 is a very hot take but imo Zadra is the best coaster and 2 Eejanaika.)
@@themeparkmark1 i actually like front way better, the visuals are so much cooler, and apart from the drop, i prefer the forces in the front.
Best flight of my entire life.
I did this coaster in the dark. I thought it was scary as hell but it was absolutely awesome now that i think about it.
I rode Steel Vengeance last week and it was amazing 🤩 😎
One of the best coasters in the world!
I am TERRIFIED of drops, but this ride looks so fun! I don’t think I will ever ride this, lol.
It's not for everyone, for sure! But, for someone who loves coasters, this is one of the best in the world currently!
@@themeparkmark1 I love coasters, too! I plan on riding Velocicoaster, tho. 😳👀
@@dxv3d that ones good u ever get around to doing it
When I think of MS/SV all I think of it how much time and engineering must have gone into building those hundreds of beams
I CANT WAIT TO GO WORLDWIDE INTO THEME PARKS AND GO ON THIS IN 2024!!!
Omg that’s like the longest roller coaster ever lol I’ve been to cedar point 3 times and never rode that… ima have to try that next year when I go.
My thighs hurt from the negative Gs 😂 this is the craziest ride I’ve ridden
I'll be riding that thing in TWO WEEKS! YAY! 😁😁😁🎢🎢🎢
Have fun!
What'd you think?
This kinda beat me up, it was kinda rough at the bunnyhill end, but its my favorite!
This ride is nuts!
Here is a trick for the rides that are rough, and sometimes make you feel sore.
Brace yourself, most coasters if you push up with your knees and only have your toes touching the ground, your legs will lock into place. And your body won't shift around that much.. And you will have more control of your top half.
If the harness comes up over the shoulders, push up with your knees, but also push your shoulders into the harness.
It works, been riding coasters since the mid 80s.
When you walk past the metal detector, do you have your glasses on or in ur pocket?
It was intense but I definitely recommend it! Better when you ride at night too :)
Amazing night ride!
Steel Vengeance is my favorite but the one thing I don’t like is coming back into the station with a bunch of dead bugs on you lol
My favorite coaster Steve. Steve is one of the best RMC coasters
this is the only old fashioned roller coaster that can do twists in the air otherwise the old fashioned roller coasters just do their regular stuff when it rides on the tracks
RMC has actually made quite a few like this but SV is one of the best
This is a newer generation ride built on an old rides structure
@@antwan867ya I agree. Steve, IG, and lightning Rod are the top 3. IG is hard to beat but Steve just non stop bucks. Incredible coaster.
Have you had any issues with bringing camera glasses on rides? I know with this there’s metal detectors, do they just let you on with the strap?
Haven't had any issues at all
Hey how did it work with the camera glasses on Steve? I have been wanting to get a pair but I’m worried they won’t let me ride with them
You need to get an athletic strap for the glasses. I got mine at a walmart from the eye glass department, but there are plenty you can order on Amazon as well. Outside of that, just make sure all loose articles are with someone off ride or in a free locker as you will go through metal detectors before riding.
The POV doesn’t really do SteVe justice. You gotta ride it to get the true intensity of this beast
Back row is where it's at!
@@themeparkmark1 absolutely! Went to CP this last Friday, first time in about 12 years. My friends and I rode SteVe 5 times and the back was insane. Loved the feeling as the train whips you down that first drop
Is this ride running slower than the old / official POV? This one lasted about 15 seconds longer, but I'm not sure if any ride elements have changed.
Dunno, this was filmed on a fairly cold day back in May
@@themeparkmark1 Thank you! Looking into it, I think they did modify the ride a bit since the original POV, and I'm sure the cold slowed it down some as well. Regardless, it looks awesome. Thank you for this excellent POV 👍👍
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
How did you get a camera past the metal detectors?
Camera sunglasses with an athletic strap was used. All of my loose articles stayed in a locker.
@@themeparkmark1what glasses do you use?
How did you sneak your phone on the ride they are so strict about them
I didn't, my phone was in a locker
May I ask how did you get the camera past the metal detectors and security? When I went they told me I had to put my camera glasses in a locker.
Do they have a strap? I’m here at CP today, so I’ll give it a try and see if maybe they changed their policy. I didn’t have any issues getting through last month
@@themeparkmark1did u get it through?
Yep, no problems at all. I'm guessing maybe OP didn't have a strap and that's why they made him put them in a locker (because they are considered a loose article without a strap)?
@themeparkmark1 mine did have a strap so I'm not really sure why they didn't let me take it through
@coasterjam18 that is very strange indeed, then. I didn't run into any issues a few weeks ago. Just placed all of my loose articles in a locker like normal and went through.
It looks like an amazing ride, but why would they make a wood coaster as smooth and quiet as a steel coaster? Why not just use all steel?
This originally was a wooden coaster. The ride got so rough and uncomfortable for the riders that a company called Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) came in and built steel track over it. The steel track makes it not only smoother and comfortable, but more fun as they can build inversions into it. RMC is known for doing this to older, wooden coasters
@@themeparkmark1 Ah, that makes good sense. Thanks!
Only thing about this ride I hated were the inversions but other than that this ride was amazing
#1 RMC Experience..........
Steel Vengeance is KING
STEVE>Iron gwazi
Comment down which hybrid coaster is the best Iron Gwazi or Steel Vengance.
Now i know what to expect at night with all the bugs
I think May/June is probably the worst with the bugs. I was here in August of last year and I don't recall the bugs being as much of an issue
@@themeparkmark1 did u just wave them away on the lift?
Top 2 steel vengeance and iron gwazi
Man all those bugs at the top of the lift hill 😳
Crazy amount of bugs that time of year! Definitely have to ride with mouth shut!
@@themeparkmark1 yup, there really is.. Still alot now, I was there last week and when I got to my car the exterior was covered in those bugs. It was hard to get in without letting a bunch in.
NOW this is why six flags great america should have cancelled xflight and extended goliath... wasted potential right there...
Last time I rode Steel Vengeance it had a tiny rattle
Is it open on week days
Yup, should be open every day for the next few months, at least
It's open every day the park is operating, unless otherwise stated
Isn’t this mean streak remade into this ?
It was! I never got to ride Mean Streak, but this is easily one of the best coasters I've ever ridden!
@@themeparkmark1 I rode the Mean Streak once . . . once. It flat-out hurt my ribs, it was that rough.
Why is nobody mentioning the excessive amounts of bugs at the lift hill in this video lmfao.
The bugs are really bad at Cedar Point around May each year. When I went back in July, they were no longer an issue. But yea, if you're going to ride these rides in May, you have to do it with your mouth shut 😂
@@themeparkmark1 Doesn’t surprise me. People down here in the south wanna complain about bugs but I’ve been all the way up as far as rural Minnesota and the bugs there are so bad you can hear mosquitos in the woods all buzzing in unison and they’ll just eat you alive after sunset.
Still #1, IG doesn’t have that second half. SV is 👑
Agreed!
What’s IG?
@@Dyog Iron Gwazi
All. Those. Bugs. You get a meal throughout the ride.
May is definitely the worst time for bugs in the area, at least from what I've seen
that cut off "YEEEA--" at the end XD
😂
Mas nunca subo nisso! Só com anestesia geral😅😅😅
Steel vengeance almost took me out
Shin guards hurt, Millennium Force is way better.
Iron Gwazi is so much better. Streel Vengeance does to much of the same thing. they should have had it do different elements and eliminated the mid course brake run.
Honestly, I've ridden both and I wasn't as impressed with Iron Gwazi; it's still a great ride though.
I personally think Steel Vengeance is better. Just love how it weaves in and out of the structure and the airtime is absolutely insane!
Wholeheartedly disagree. IG was a fun ride, but STeVe just does it miles better. But that's just my opinion.
Wrong buddy! Sit DOWN!
The complaining about Steel Vengeance is laughable and shows you can never please an enthusiast. They make it over 200 feet tall give it 90 degree drop give it floater airtime and low to the ejector inside its own structure with nearly 6000 feet of track for a coaster that’s only 205 feet tall and some a ride that goes straight into its break run is better. Steel Vengeance literally does everything Iron Gwazi does in addition to the extra stuff😂
my favorite Rmc is Goliath at six flags great America. The elements are really good however the ride is short. This is a longer ride but I still think Goliaths elements are better
Goliath is custom built with topper track, while this is a converted coaster using IBox track
@@themeparkmark1 ooh that’s cool
I’ve been on both, I can tell you this absolutely shits on Goliath and it’s not even close
@@johnnyhickey1312 that ride is just really long. The stall is def the best on Goliath out of all rmcs and that drop hits harder than most rmcs
This ride is fun until you get off and your neck hurts for the rest of the day
OMG STOP giving the world false information. Smoother than Millennium Force
Fury 325 is way better than steel vengeance
This is one of very few coasters I actually dislike.
You also get a lot of free protein when going up the hill as all the flies go in your mouth.
