- At the beginning of the summer, I got to go to Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio. While I was there, I was able to snag a ride on the incredible Intamin Blitz Maverick. Maverick is quite the coaster and something I highly anticipated ever since I became an enthusiast. I thought what better to do than record my first ride on Maverick. I hope you all enjoy my first reaction to Maverick at Cedar Point.

Maverick really is a life-changing experience. Rode it for the first time over Memorial Day weekend and it blew me away. Steel Vengeance still took my top spot, but Maverick was good enough to take number 2 on my favorites list.

i NEED to get on steel vengeance this summer. i’ve rode maverick, (LITERALLY AMAZING) but i really need to try out steel vengeance.

You actually captured that big low BOOM sound effect that almost no one else gets! It's at 2:39. For some reason many cameras don't pick up on that sound, but it's played on the second launch and you usually can't hear it inside the tunnel but can absolutely hear it in line.
2:54 It’s supposed to be timed like that so that the train drops when the other goes through the Stengel dive but it rarely is, very cool you got it on the POV.

It’s my number 1 in the park. Went there originally for Millie in 2009 but was blown away by this. Then went back for SteVe in 2018 but still enjoyed Maverick more. In the land of giants, one of the smallest coasters (by height) is king

My #1 Bucket List Coaster.
Maverick being as old as it is has consistently been my favorite ride in the park since the first time I rode it. It’s pure intensity all the way through. Flawless coaster

Maverick is awesome, I rode it for the first time and got 4 rides on it. That launch is also crazy too, my number 3 coaster.
Maverick was the best coaster at Cedar Point. Key word: WAS. Steel Vengeance blows them all out of the water easily!

@@timothywait9457 I actually prefer Mavericks lower to the ground profile. This is why I considered it the best. I'm surprised you consider Magnum XL over Gatekeeper or Raptor....both great coasters. Gatekeeper definitely isn't as thrilling as most of the others but it has it's moments.
My most favorite is now Steel Vengeance without a doubt though. I was dumbfounded by that ride and not a single video has done that ride any justice...it's way faster than what any of them show.

I remember going to cedar point in summer 2007 when maverick was new. This was also during the buildup to the 2008 election when John McCain was getting built up and he was constantly referred to as a “maverick”… I wondered why they made a roller coaster about John McCain lmfao

This was my first corkscrew and it was great, I’ve heard from others its really intense but for me it didn’t top the roughness of raptor
Would you recommend this for getting over my fear? I've rode blue Streak and Corkscrew, but this looks SUPER fun, I'm going this weekend and I'm hoping to get a ride on it!
If you have a fear there are ways to work up to this........this is BY FAR smoother then blue streak and corkscrew. I say you do it and see how you feel.....if you like it then keep riding but if you don't then maybe take it down a notch and work up to the bigger ones

Went there for two days with my friends over the past week and maverick was shutdown the whole first day and my friends were saying it looked weak compared to millennium force and steel vengeance but when they rode it the second day it immediately became their number 1 of all time. The best park they've been to before cedar point was kings island, so i believe they said it was a huge step up. Especially after the last time they rode it, they got to ride it at like 11:30pm and they said that tunnel was completely dark and you couldn't see where you were going which gave it a whole different experience. But, i didn't do it because up until those two days i hadn't ridden any coasters before and thought it'd be too much for me, as i did blue streak and iron dragon and i actually didn't like blue streak because for some reason the drop felt too intense for me, but that could've just been because it was my first time ever experiencing that. I absolutely loved iron dragon, though. Still scared me a lot each day, but it was a lot of fun. Next time we go back I'm gonna work my way up to maverick for sure. But i don't think I'll ever be able to do millennium force just because of the height lol.
How were you able to film on the ride? i've been wanting to film on Mavrick for a while but they have a no camra policy so how did you film?
