- History in Mexico dates back centuries, but to find it and learn about it first hand is an amazing experience. In the past several videos, I have come across a stone aquaduct running parallel to the spring in San Ignacio. I really wanted to learn more of the history of this location, and I knew that knowledge could be found by pursuing the history of the Mission. Jane was a wealth of knowledge, and a delight to interview. She told me the history of not only the mission, but of much of the peninsula.
Leaving San Ignacio, I had little plan outside of just "south" and the road took me to the Bay of Conception, which most certainly the most beautiful location thus far in the Baja. I decided to stop and get the boat on the water, and I was blessed with some UNBELIEVABLE weather and some mirror finish water. Another consistent surprise in the bay, was dolphins, eager to play with the boat. It didn't take me long to meet some locals and get a lead on a shipwreck and the remains of an old German ghost town about 14 miles away. The shipwreck was a great place to do some diving and spearfishing, and I finally was able to spear my first fish. This was truly a wonderful experience for me.
Finally, I had a day with a really good wind report, so I was up early and on the water to find the ghost town. This was my first open ocean adventure in months, and I had my concerns for sure, but the weather was perfect all day and we found the town location with little issue. The remains of this town are quite remarkable, and the stone work was amazing to walk around and look at. It always blows me away finding a location that was once so prevalent, and now hardly known about at all.
Leaving the old town, I wanted to try my luck at some fishing, and finally I had a pretty lucky day. I got into several Grouper and Barracuda, but nothing worth keeping. All in all, this was a really fun adventure, and I truly hope you all will enjoy it as well.

The past couple of videos have been stunning. As good or better than any TV documentary I have ever seen. BUT - the best part has been the interviews. Absolutely fascinating and captivating. So well done !!!!! Such stories, they really put you right there even though I am 1000 miles away. Great Job 👍👍👍 Awesome !!!
Agree 100%

Those are the ruins of the Gavilan Magnanese Mines, Dustin. The old water tank at the top of the hill says 1943. More than 6,000 people worked there. They provided manganese to the alied forces in WW2. Closed when a hurricane devastated the area, 1946.
The site was discovered in 1892, according to the web.
I broke my back awhile back and cannot travel like I did before, so I've been binge watching your vids. They help to enrich my life, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate them. Thank you so much!
You’re very welcome, and I hope you’re able to have a complete recovery.
Man Dustin! The videos are getting better every week! And that doesn’t mean they’ve ever been bad! The quality is on par (actually better) than every network travel/history show I have seen!
Keep it up!
Thank you very much :)
Your wonderful talents as a videographer and story teller come alive when you are telling the stories of others. As much fun as it was to watch you on your first spear fishing endeavor (the crystal clear water was amazing!), I was enthralled with the story of the stone mission in San Ignacio, especially as told by your local historian. Another thoroughly enjoyable chapter in the telling of your journey. Thank you!
This is what I’m talking about! One of your best!
Loved the dolphins! It is always awesome to take an adventure with you. Thank you for sharing with us!!
Great video, D - some fishing, some exploring, some history, you did it all in one!
Thanks amigo.
Wow this is very cool! We love getting our drone out over Mexico, the landscapes are just spectacular. Never found a shipwreck though, so fascinating 🙌🙌🙌 love your documentary style, would love to connect one day 🙏
Your videos absolutely blow me away. They are absolutely stunning and inspiring in every way!!! Dustin, you have a beautiful eye for film. Teach me your ways 'Ol Wise One. Lol YEEYEE!
Oh! You did it! This is a masterpiece Dustin. Wow, this is so great. And Jane, what a historian, and you captured her nicely. Oh, oh, oh- so good!!!
Thank you for sharing another amazing adventure. You are a man of many talents.
That's the life mate 🥰 living the dream 👍
San Ignacio very cool. I can imagine the wonder felt by the missionaries when they came across this site - water! Not sure what is more impressive - the video quality or that you navigated a no shoulder 3/4 sized lane with that beast and a trailer.
the missions could only think about conquering and converting...instead of assimilating..sad how many millions died as a result
As always Dustin... magical, thanks for including us.
Love the Ocean, I agree the last couple of video’s have been awesome. My Destination Adventure Hoodie arrived today, soooo comfortable Thanks Dustin
Love your documentation of the adventuring you do!
Comparing the open ocean to an ex girlfriend that can kill you easily, priceless, thank you! And yes, I do know the feeling.
Beautiful water, and chance meeting with the dolphins ! That Swellfish boat is really shining now too, so handy for beaching. 🤙🍻
In the mining world, the stacked stone work is called "Gobbing "... absolutely beautiful stone work.
Ahhh. I am so refreshed now after sharing your adventure. Loved the Mission, the information on the waterway you found. The wreck, green water, fish, dolphins and the old ghost town. I am in heaven. Thanks Dustin!
Very cool loved the mission the people put a lot of hard work in to the building . Thank you for sharing
I swear, Dustin, you outdo yourself every vid! Each one better than the last. Your interviews, the history, the scenery... 👩🍳👄
Such a wonderful channel. I really appreciate what you're bringing to us, the viewers. I'd have been honored to go Mexico to help translate. They're an absolutely wonderful people/culture and it breaks my heart when they're portrayed as anything but wholesome.
Another awesome video! We love them!
So beautiful, the clear water and the dolphins playing with the boat. I get a little nervous when you go out in the open ocean too! I loved the interview about the church too - adds a special touch to the story. Thanks for sharing!
I liked your dolphins. Helping you find your way.

Dustin you are amazing bro. You've got the most-earned sub from me in a looooong time.
So cool that so much of this remains! These are places I'll never get to see otherwise so thank you for exploring; it's making me feel like I did before I became disabled.
Totally enjoyed this video!
Magical content, the blend of Jane commentating, the video and music was so well done. Then the views of the ocean, fishing and exploring. You captured so much and wove it together perfectly.
Wow! What a GORGEOUS spot! That's my dream campsite - right on the beach and not touristy at all. Dolphins in the beautiful clean water... I'm not jealous. 😆
Okay these adventures just keep getting better and better Dustin! Wow! That water is amazing, the dolphins, your unique finds and the intro education all made this outstanding!!
Great video! That's a clip of Oregon at the very beginning, it's the overlook of the ocean from the overlook at Winchester Bay. It shows the Triangle at the jetty where oysters are raised. I live near here.
love the outboard rinse rigging!
Best travel films on internet or theaters, thank you for sharing your experiences

And the wonders you have yet to see Dustin....
Great content!! Beautiful spots!! Jealous!! Enjoy! What an experience with the whales and the dolphins❤️❤️
Another Fantastic Adventure. Thanks you Captain D.
Gosh where to begin... I really enjoyed the historical info on the cathedral .The wonderful sights of the Sea of Cortez. Seems like a really magical experience. Just the boost I needed after two straight days of cold rainy dreary weather here. Thanks for sharing the journey DP.
I spend my winter in the southwest but this next winter I’m planning on spending some time in Mexico and Baja. I made it to Santa Rosalía in February 1996, truck camping. Time to renew my passport.
I love this spot. So peaceful and quiet. The waters are clear and so beautiful. Thank you for taking me along. I admire you so much !
Thank you for enjoying

Excellent video. Interesting and very well shot and edited!
Thank you.
Fabulous video. Thanks for your hard work from Western Australia. 👏👏👏👏
Wow another amazing video
They just keep getting better.
Another great video. We took a motor home down to Cabo San Lucas in the late 70’s and then took a ferry to Mazatlan. Very rough crossing and many on the ferry got sick, it stunk like hell the next morning when we arrived.
Very nicely done sir thanks
Really cool stuff!!!!
I could stand a month or two camping next to that water! Thanks for the insights. Take care. #Peace!
Sweet a new video
My thoughts exactly!
great stuff dude thanks be safe
Love your adventures😎
Great video, Dustin! I was totally jazzed with the underwater spear fishing section. Really neat! Keep up the good work.
I was so stoked to finally get out and have some time in the water.
im really enjoying the interview, documentary style! good job 👌 p.s my wife's favorite part is still the sound track!😄
My Happy place 👊😎❤️🇨🇦🇺🇸
Great episode Dustin!! If you are interested in a truly spectacular Mission, you should do your best to check out the village of San Javier, 1/2 hr inland of Loreto. There you will find Misio'n San Francisco Javier de Vigge'-Biaundo'. Truly spectacular!! It will be difficult with your class a rig however. Of course the mission at Mulege' is also spectacular.
The first day out on the ocean looked amazing. Wish I was there.
I really enjoy your interviews. Not that I'm getting tired of your grinning mug or anything..
Wonderful content!
Great videos. It's easy to fall on love with Baja. Once you get to La Paz, head to El Tecolote, then take your boat to Isla del Espiritu Santo, and Los Islotes. One of the most beautiful places in the Sea of Cortes. And if you want to do some hiking, try heading up el Picacho. Highest peak on the peninsula. Epic views, and makes for some incredible drone shots.
Very cool stuff
Just a thought, put a bucket under your engine to catch the water and you could use it for a number of other cleaning.
Great videos.
I keep meaning to buy one for exactly that. Would be way easier for the wipe down of the boat.
Thank you Dustin for another wonderful video we appreciate you! You should do a live stream so we can see more insight behind the picture.
If I can find a location with good wifi, I can try and arrange something like that for sure.
@@Destination_Adventure yeah I suppose having Wi-Fi out in the middle of nowhere could possibly be an issue, just thought it would be neat and interesting Idea.
I know the feeling.
Dustin!!!! I really liked this video. The Ex-Girlfriend comment was hilarious. Loved the video and had a great time watching it. Take care. :)
Does anyone ever wonder if those old westurns where stored camera footage from years ago stored in "digital" warehouses! You know the one's you see on t.v shown to you and me as hollywood! Anyway! Nice, maybe not! Awesome! The vehical!
Amazing Dustin! The edits keep getting better and better. Your content brings so much value! And the music?!! Who edits the music! You have the best music! The way you put it together is awesome! Thank you:)
I select all of the music myself, and it’s always listed at the end if you want titles or artists. I work the songs a little bit for timing, but its not “my” music.
@@Destination_Adventure Correct not your music however you piece the puzzle together very well. Also props to all the listed artists as everyone wins with this adventure. Thank you for amazing value :)
Dustin, I dare you to take the Moho down the Aguaverde road. It’s quite the thrill.
Dustin, love watching your adventures. I see that you flush out the engine with fresh water, that's a good method. I was wondering if you rinse off your boat and gear before heading out on different bodies of water? So many invasive species get transferred from one body to another when people don't rinse their gear and boats. It's a big problem hear in NC.
Great Video Dustin. This one was "jam-packed" and fabulous to watch. Just a reminder that when you see an old Mine / Mill /Concentrator area, the big piles of "fist" size or smaller rocks (sometimes they are like mountains) are usually waste rock piles => not Tailings. Tailings are typically like beach sand (and smaller) which is the residual after the valuable minerals are removed from the Ore. I'm really enjoying your adventures. Are you going down to the end of the Baja Peninsula to Cabo San Lucas before you turn north again ? Keep on Trucking and Stay Safe!
I don’t think I will go to the very end, but we will see.
I have some pictures of that church when I was there in 1982, still looks the same.
Damn you are getting good at this video history documentation! Getting real jealous??? But learning a lot!
Coming in at 480p did you upload that? Love the vids👍👍
Awesome videos bro! If you make it up to Southern California, Los Angeles, if you wanna make a pitstop in the beautiful suburbs of the valley north to say hello, a good beer and awesome burgers made by me, Drop a line let me know, we will be delighted to host you! Cheers brother, keep the party going! 🍺😎🤙🏻
👍👍
How do you do those moving drone shots of the RV. She drives while you shoot the drone video. Lots of effort put into your videos. That’s a great touch
Who’s she?
Your ex girl friend analogy, LMAO. Drone shots, emerald crystal clear waters, crazy Dolphins, ship wreck, ruins amazing cinematography, narration and music, I think you have this RUclips thing down to a science man.
Dustin, I was wondering what model of boat you have. I was looking on their wbsite, they have several models to choose from. Also what size of moter is it, and if it's a short shaft or long shaft? Thanks!
@ 17:19 there's a mouse in the bottom right corner
juanita!!!!
