Do you have any ideas on how I can study and practice that skill for rebounding should I watch clips for hours or do it with a real ball and see the bounce???
Few players ever have impacted games as much or more than Rodman. Nobody impacted games without scoring remotely close to the way Dennis did. He's the best rebounder I ever saw...his positioning, anticipation, ability to read the ball, knowledge of tendencies where guys would miss when they would and desire and determination to get the board were one of a kind. Barkley's my #2
When the ultimate 75 were announced, the other 74 were shown the highlight of they scored points...perhaps only Rodman was shown the highlight of him making rebounds
7 consecutive rebound titles. When wilt played he got 23,000 plus boards but their were less then 5 7 footers on the league Dennis Rodman won 7 constructive titles for rebounding.
Everything you need is a guy like Rodman to get the rebounds and one guy like Jordan to give him the ball.. that is the secret recipe. A king and his servant
A good sidekick doesn't hurt either, for when they start double-teaming the king. That was the catch. Jordan was not selfish. He would hit the open man when he got double-teamed.
I understand your thought process, however, Moses Malone would get 3 rebounds in one play because he would shoot a bunny shot in close, miss, then rebound, then bunny again, miss, then rebound it again, and bunny again... Rodman wasn't looking to score, so he would rebound and dish out, then rebound off a shooters miss, and so on. So therefor, Rodman was collecting more challenging "reset the offense" and defensive rebounds, IMO.
@@matt_goes_crash you’re right. But that double jump Moses had was elite. Moses the greatest offensive rebounder because of it. He was at the top of his game in Detroit. On the bulls, he really just moved into a fully supporting role and because of the Phil Jackson triangle offense, he was able to almost completely avoid shooting against a lot of teams

I'm curious how many minutes he played per game. I'm no basketball expert but there are a number of guys that can get 20 plus points, and hardly any that can get 20 plus rebounds and it not be a fluke. You gotta have him out there all game if he can keep his wind.

Here's a debate: Say Rodman was in a team today.... Where do you think he'd fit best? I'd place him in the Lakers. One thing LA needs is obviously a rebound machine, but more so the fact that AD isn't good at the low post, defensively doesn't give 100% and when needing a PF backup, no one's really there to pick up the slack. LA isn't a 3 point team so good chance the bricks would be falling closer to the rim, where as when 3 pointers are missed they tend to fly off. Although knowing Rodman and how he studied his team mates shots, i wound be surprised. What you guys think?
Even though he rarely contribute in points but the effort he consistently gives night in and night out is unparallel, he won't give you high number of points but he will guaranteed to give you 20+ rebounds plus the hustle plays and the immense defense which supposed to make him deserving to earn huge amount of money as a superstarlr but look at today's soft players like westbrick who only knows how to score but just contented to give you below 20pts on a consistent basis without defensive effort but still he's earning $43M/year.. really funny....lol
