- A game to remember... 1996 @ Indiana, Bulls win a Legendary memorable battle vs the hard hitting Pacers
Michael Jordan hit 44 points
Scottie Pippen had 40 points
Dennis Rodman grabbed 23 rebounds
'96 Bulls...best team ever!
I certainly agree ✌🏾👊🏾
Absolutely
The Bulls title runs were no flukes, but they never get recognized for one HUGE break they caught along the way; no significant injuries in any of their runs.
The Celtics, Sixers, Lakers, and Pistons all had titles left on the table during their Finals runs because of injuries.
The Bulls were talented….and blessed with good health.(
yezsuuuh ✌🏿
@dereklarner6298 The Bulls last season Pippen barely played. He was a useless tit in the playoff run as well. Jordan carried hard that season with the help of Rodman.
NBA games back then had a different energy.
Retire number 91 in Chicago! Thumbs up if you agree.
When this gets to 91 likes stop liking it lol
Rodman’s basketball IQ was phenomenal
Amazed they wouldn't give him 10.
@@jc4388 #10 Bulls is retired - Bob Love
I'm actually shocked its not. I wonder is 33 is retired?
Wow ! And look how long ago these games were played & yet, these games are still more entertaining to watch then some of today’s NBA 😳
Yes indeed
different era and different style of basketball. I enjoy both.
Most definitely
All***
It cracked me up then and still does the way Rodman celebrated every shot he made like it was the game 7 championship winning shot.
Like draymond..lol 😅
Rodman was really passionate about the game.
@@2414kels I know he was. But it still cracks me up I remember watching live and would laugh. Like damn Rodman. You could probably score 20 ppg if you wanted to but only wanted defense and rebounds. Bc he knew that was his role.
23 boards is just absurd. I loved watching Rodman play....
Amazing player. Unbelievable that 2 players score 40 but the standout player is a hustle guy!
Ayyy Wilt got 40 his first NBA game. Rodman was a 1 trick pony
@@Zenny916 What does Wilt have to do with this video?
@@Zenny916 oh look another really cool Wilt story. Whatever makes you feel better 😭😭
23 is not absurd. Both Kevin Love and Dwight Howard have a 30 pt 30 rebound game. (Wilt had 136 of them, but we're not talking about Wilt)
When the NBA at his finest !
Back then watching these three was a treat, you would not want to move away from the TV. I would be glued to the TV for the entire game. Next day, couldn't wait to watch the highlights. 96 season was RED Hot BULLSSSSSS.
I still have my vhs 📼 tapes from that year 96 season kicked ass!! 💯🤘
@@adrianhernandez1058 Awesome. All masters from the 96 season? All 82 games? Do you have any other full seasons?
Damn Dennis Rodman was amazing so much heart
Pip was a master at setting up offensive fouls. Dude could spot an opportunity to take a charge better than anyone.
Pipp had such a long stride and quickness, he was on defenders all of the time before they expected him to be there.
I was thinking how underrated his ability to take charges was...he'd definitely be drawing em on giannis and lebron if he was out there now
The 96 bull was something special a once in a lifetime thing to witness
Look at Dennis Rodman man, he is literally in every picture. No wonder why he was the rebounding leader of the league.
yeah it was easier for big men back then to get rebounds because 90s players weren't chucking up 3s like the current buffoons today.
That's back when DEFENSE mattered & in the big man era too. Worm was only 6'7 taking on 7' footers
Nobody hustled like Rodman did. Nobody.
I just loved how he celebrated every point he got. All of them hard earned.
@@BlindfoldSniper He even did it on the road. I got to see Rodman with the Bulls twice, both times when they played in Orlando (I live in Tampa). And in both games, there were times when the road crowd gave him some cheers/props for his effort and energy.
Fans always love those underdogs who rise to greatness through sheer grit and determination. And Rodman wasn't low key about it, he showed his emotions and like interacted with the crowd. I remember at the one game, he fouled someone, and the crowd booed, so he like waved his arms as he comes off the floor, basically telling the crowd FU, so then the crowd really booed. lol. He fed off of them, and they fed off of him.
Impressive. That Pacers team was no joke either
They would take them to 7 games in the playoffs a year later. Their new young depth almost got the best of Chicago
@@jordanhutton5787it was 2 seasons later. This game is 1996/96 regular season. The Pacers took the Bulls to 7 games was in the ECF 1998. The Pacers strengthened their team by adding some extra firepower in the offence, acquiring GSW legend Chris Mullin who is also a member of the 1992 USA Dream Team.
Normally, you see a slowed down pace where the PG dribbles it up the court after a rebound but Rodman initiates a lot of fast breaks from his rebounds. Such an underrated skill to have.
Most people don't realize things like this. The way he started so many fast breaks was a huge benefit to their offense. It gave them a big edge, but you won't see that in most stats
His passing was appreciated but underrated. And the dude could make just about any kind of pass. Down court, alley oop, behind the back, no look, between defenders, all of it. I think he even nutmegged a dude once (between defender's legs).
Great points made. His assists on the stat sheet didn't show how great of a smart passer he was
And he was an outstanding upcourt passer
he said he's one of the few ppl who can do that and hes completely right
Rodman was a rebound machine but doesn’t get enough credit for his passing which led to so many fast breaks!
He came from the Pistons who were one of the best passing teams of all time!
I’m 57 and watched the entire 3 peat run with Rodman on the Bulls. Had most all their games on my cable station. Best team ever. They had so many highly competitive regular season games. Everybody gave it all to try and beat them. Nobody took a game off for “load management “.
I would love to watch that entire run again if they aired every game on tv in order. It would probably get higher ratings than today’s nba. Serious
When it still was a man's game...dayum these pacers paint players..Rik smits..dale davis..antonio davis..some muscles there
Yup.. but the Worm and cool hand Luke stopped them!! Greatest team ever on both ends.. but MJ was always a step ahead thanks to Phil Jackson.....
Warriors wouldn't stand a chance that team was incredible
Warriors would had been swept, 4 zip
Greatest team of all time! Don't give me that Warriors garbage, the Bulls won the Chip!
Bulls ultimately finished the '95-'96 season (playoffs included) with the better record too. Their 87-13 record that season is absurd. Perhaps even more absurd, they backed it up in '97-'98 with what would have been an all-time record tying 69-13 regular season, and an 84-17 record including the playoffs, if not for the previous season already breaking the record.
Why do people feel the need to bash one team, to uplift the other?
I consider the 72-10 Bulls squad the goat. They were 6-0 in the finals. Two different 3peats, courtesy of MJ.
And as team, hardware wise the Warriors are the best of their era.
17 warriors are tuff man. 67 wins and 16-1 in the playoffs without even trying that hard in either
LOVE MY BULLS & MY MJ❤❤
I've been watching basketball for about 47 years and I've never seen a basketball player with as many basketball moves as Jordan had. This dude was just unbelievable! No wonder why he was so unstoppable
Good try but No 😞 Your LeDick Riding ✅
.....Jordan is right up there with Lebron....
@@nuendo2496way above LeBron actually
Jordan was so smooth.
When basketball was real basketball
Is Rodman the greatest teammate ever? Insane hustle, always cheering his teammates success, knows he's not a scorer so always looking to pass.
I enjoyed him celebrating every point he got.
He chose not to be a scorer, he averaged 26pts 16 rbs in his college days
6:54 its funny seeing Dennis Rodman and James Edwards on the bulls after all those years they were in Detroit terrorizing the bulls lol
Yeah back when they were HATED by all of us fans!!!!
I remember watching this game in my sophomore year of high school. It was absolutely insane and awesome.
These bulls would put the clamps on golden state👌
God I miss Rodman so much.
MJ’s double fake on Reggie M was extraordinary. MJ just glides and floats across the court. So graceful and economical in all his moves. I love MJ, but DR is my all time fav player.
GREATEST TEAM EVER 72-10 NBA CHAMPION CHICAGO BULLS!!!
GREATEST PLAYER EVER,,,MICHAEL JORDAN!!!!
My Pacers beat them twice this year
@@williamwright8250Playoffs!!! Do you speak it?!? Lol. Foh
Is anyone else a little disappointed that Rodman didn't have 40 rebounds?
I remember like it was yesterday!!! Greatest game by far by Chicago's big three!! Loved watching the Bulls!! No way any team can beat this team!! I wish they could play in the world today.. it would be crazy!! If the Warriors racked up 73 wins against this defense, the Bulls would sure go undefeated!! And Lewhine might not have any runs to the finals at all!! Yes Lewhine fans!! I said it!! Your idol would not make it in the 90s, and if that Bulls team was in his era, he would be just another role player!!
UNSTOPPABULS !!! The Worm was jz Different! shieeeedd!!....Scottie was burning!...MJ is being MJ!!
Miss those guys playing...
Pip and MJ were relentless in this game. Rodman was too much in the glass.
We can see old basketball how great the team and players. Jordan and pippen scored 40 point plus each player and Rodman 23 rebound. Bulls only won small margin points. How hard and competitive the league was. Cos they play with heart to the game and for the team franchise so the audiences worth it the money too. Now adays tickets more expensive but quality of basketball lower and lower.
Great post. Like yeah they won but they had to earn it. Indiana wasn’t a pushover.
The main reason The Warriors would stand zero chance against Chicago, number 91. He would out rebound the entire squad.
Jordan and Pippen straight up Splash Bros. in this game.
Back then...the NBA teams either got swept or had a losing record that year against the Bulls. The Pacers were the only team to have a .500 record against the Bulls.
Watered-down expansion league
@@PoliticusRex632Breakdown of why that's a bullshit myth: ruclips.net/video/sGIn22Dd8Rg/видео.html
@@PoliticusRex632
Stop with that nonsense. The entire league is watered down today. It's soft & weak
@shaunphillips3236 same league bro.
@@PoliticusRex632 no today's league is soft & weak. The rule changes allowed for more scoring & less physicality & damn near no defense
Chicago was great but you have to give it to the young Pacers, they stay in that game ever minute.
I REMEMBER WATCHING EVERY MINUTE OF THIS GAME,,,,ONLY WENT TO THE BATHROOM DURING COMMERCIAL BREAKS!!!!
I WAS ADDICTED TO BASKETBALL!!!!!💯💯💯🤎🤎🤎
So was i!!😂
It's crazy!! Especially the all star games.. Now they just fooling around and not really competing anymore!!
I freaking love this game. Finally an awesome copy!!!
that's some mad defense
the 96 Bulls would wipe GS Warriors all over the floor Would be an interesting matchup
It would be just like all the other 6 finals not goin to a game 7 .
96 bulls wouldn’t stand a chance against 2017 warriors😂😂😂😂 scottie and horace wouldn’t see the light of day
draymond would make it hell for everyone expect mj
Horace Grant wasn't on the 1996 Bulls, he was with Orlando. Warriors would get swept by the 1996 Bulls.
@@aaronharris5069 swept? They couldn't even sweep Seattle. Gtfoh
Rodman was a difference maker. The best rebounder EVER!
lol they claimed the 90s was played at slow pace when clearly you see these guys running and moving as quick as these guys today
jordan was double and triple teamed and still dropped 44
This is greatest player on the greatest team in NBA history.
The weapon that this team was cannot be understated. Two All-NBA players in Pippen and Jordan and three on the all-defensive team in Pippen, Jordan and Rodman. The sixth man of the year and just strong bit players who helped in their own way. It was a team that was fun to watch on both ends of the floor for all 48 minutes.
The Way I See It, This Team Was Nearly UnbeataBULL!
Golden State Would Have No Answers On Defense!
Steph Is Too Small For Harper Or MJ. Post Ups For Both Harp & MJ. Steph Eventually Fouls Out.
Durant & Klay Also Fall N2 Foul Trouble Because Of Pip, Rodman & MJ.
Then There's Kukoc.
Kerr off the bench too to spread the floor. It would be over. CHI 4-2
Man this game was awesome.
So many highlights in one game.
Bro this is a regular season game... let that sink in....
because of his personality and antics off the court, most people don’t realize just how smart of a player Rodman was… and also a rebound machine
Bulls in 5.
Pippen guards Iggy and helps defend everything else, Harper guards Curry, Jordan guards Klay, Longley guards the paint, Rodman guards KD.
Curry puts up his numbers, KD works hard to put up numbers but does. Everyone else is a non factor. Curry can't guard anyone. Draymond stays in foul trouble. Iggy stays in foul trouble. Longley has a double double against Dray or Looney. Plus Kukoc comes off the bench. Warriors can't play man to man defense. If they play a zone the Bulls kill them inside. Bulls played man to man and kept three point shooting teams that year under 100 points. So yeah. Bulls in 5.
The bulls would not have been able to guard 3 players that can drop 50 lol just stop. The bulls in the 90s never had to face a stacked team like the 80s celtics or lakers. They would not have beat those teams nor would have beat the KD warrios. Curry and Klay broke the bulls 70 win mark WITHOUT Kevin Durant their finals mvp in 2017.
GREATEST EVER❤
So unbelievable!!
The worm was always around the rim for sure😂😂the worm aka Dennis Rodman👍
Commentary spot on and what a game
Regular season game between Pacers and Bulls always felt like a play-off game. Intensity, hustle and sometimes fireworks.
So a combined points rebounds of 107 for three players. Wilt had 129 points rebounds combined all by himself once. And had 87 combined in a finals game against the Bill Russell Celtics once (55 rebounds).
All 3 played all out, they deserved everything
Bulls defense crazy
My son is 10 years old starting basketball….I’m trying to teach him the importance of grabbing rebounds…..just told him about Rodman the other day…grab 20 rebounds and it doesn’t matter what else you do
Prime Dennis Rodman
23 reb vs. Smits and the Davises
They were proper rebounds. Modern ball shouldn't even count rebounds as a stat. The other team puts up a three and everyone runs away except one. So many small guards leading teams in rebounds is just because they are left to bring the ball up the court. Rodman would destroy them.
Even with Pippen on fire, Jordan still scores more 🤪
Yeah there still exciting to watch
This was fire 🔥
I like these. Lets you know Jordan didn't do it all by himself.... Without those 20 rebounds bulls lose!
And the 40 from PIP!
I think I have this whole game on VHS, taped it off tv
Da Bulls!!
The videos that LeGone fans “don’t want you to see”
Almost a year after MJ officially came back in the same stadium and went 7/28 for 19. What a difference a year makes.
Its Gotta Be the Shoes
A mid February game, two playoff bound teams, regardless of the outcome of this game. Really nothing to play for. Today, some of the stars would sit out a game like this for “load management.” These players balled out like it was the 7th game of the finals, every night. That’s why no one will ever be like Jordan, who brought it every. Single. Night. Didn’t matter what month, the opponent, high stakes game or low stakes, he looked to destroy you every game. And he made his teammates do it too.
Even though those three guys had a tremendous performance, the game was so tight that Pacers could have winning it.
Bulls were undefeated at home at this point
1996.12.17 bulls vs lakers jordan 30pts pippen 30pts kukoc 30pts rodman 20 reb !!!
This is real basketball!!
It took 3 players to do what Wilt could have done himself. GG i guess
Saw it live on tv
The greatest team of all time
How many times Jordan saves Rodman from getting into it with other players? Needed him Son
Quiet as it's kept Rodman was a scorer in college
I miss Rodman
That’s what you call a super team running on octane 👀
Even with pip and MJ scoring 40 a piece and rodzilla rebounding they still barley won, shows you how good the pacers were. Don’t give me that bulls didn’t play anybody crap
drop this team in today's league ... you'll understand the difference. Bulls in 5.
The realize that Wilt's first four seasons were averaged MORE than 40 points and MORE than 23 rebounds.
Yeaah he was a great D-fensive player
Yea...Lebum and the players now wouldn't make it in this era bc the defense and effort is just too much. Ppl talk about this era being too good at shooting but back than they played defense full court therefore these guys now wouldn't get the easy shots they get now. Curry wouldn't be curry and Lebum would be retired already.
The level of hustle is unmatched.
And also theres no def 3 seconds back then
ruclips.net/video/YiCpet86WRQ/видео.html
Curry wouldn't be curry?
bad take mj already said bron would had made it in this era
mj 3x ap athlete of the year bron 4x ap athlete of the year ap male athlete of the decade

It was only 3 years.
I Love #Mike🥰
Pippen❤
Jordan just torching Miller.
Amazing, eh? And Reggie was a great defensive player in his own right.
G.O.A.T.
#23 #33 #91
When we say Pippen was a great player MJ bootlickers always say you're crazy .
He was a great player, MJ was just head and shoulders better than everyone else. In practice, Pippen's elite defense got spanked all over the floor against Jordan. Just because Jordan had great teammates doesn't take away from the fact he's the GOAT!
Yeah because Jordan forced him to either get better, or he was going to eat him alive in practice every day. Jordan was not a friendly dude in practice, he terrorized everyone else. But it made them better. It eventually made them the greatest team in league history, and no sane fan or player disputes it.
Peak Marv
How would Bill Wenninton play in this era
Not at all despite his ability to step out on the perimeter
