That's how a Defensive Genius work Right positioning In terms of defense and knows how offense will gonna work on his favor plus factor hardwork ,aggression, timing
Rodman .One of the greatest
it was nice when Jordan said..Yes, I want Rodman on my team
Everywhere. Every team. A ring
Very nice video!
Rodman's positioning and legs were so strong he could bully the biggest men on the floor. Look at how he turned into a brick wall on Alonzo Mourning.
People really do forget Bill Russell played basketball but was an Olympic level track and field star
Two words Bill Russell. 6'9 playing center

9 HALL OF FAMERS TO TRIPLE TEAM WILT. SHOW ME CURRY PLAYOFF WITHOUT KLAY ??? IF HE CANT BEAT JA MORANT 1 ON 1 THAT MEANS CURRY AND BILL RUSSELL ARE NOBODIES WITHOUT SUPERTEMS.
BEST DEFENDER IS HAKEEM CAUSE HE WASTE HIS ENERGY ON 25 POINTS TOO. RODMAN DOING ONLY 1 THING. REST IN OFFENSE SO HE CAN DO DEFENSE.
you see that a lot today
All I gotta say is who blocks Kareem on the same play twice!!! 💯🤷
Yeah! Real hard for Lakers fans.
Wilt Chamberlin did
Green is way miles and miles way from the worm. Rodman shuts downs the opponent's superstar player yet green only guards the average ones 💀
Smart guy
As I've said. He even rebounded Madonna
Rodman one of the smartest players ever
It's interesting to look at these highlights. 2:01 Refs would call this a foul in todays game.
Retired number 91 in Chicago
This was back when offensive fouls still existed and the offensive players were not protected like endangered species.
Rodman 👍
Goes to show mj had the best teamastes in the wolrd csnt do it alone 0-9 without this man 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
Rodman 💪😊
back when u could actually play defense
Bring back the arm bar!
pistons, San Antonio,Bulls, and a couple more. everywhere a ring. lakers
I don't understand growing up all i heard about Dennis Rodman was that he wasn't Jordan, and his haircut, and he got fouls a lot. Wtf, no one ever talked about how he was probably one of the best defensive players in NBA history.
Phil Jackson asked Jordan... Should we get Rodman. After a moment Jordan said.. Yes
If the modern refs called offensive fouls the same way, we would actually see more defensive plays. Currently its so hard to play defense because defenders can't get calls
League doesnt wants players to play D anymore... Sadly.
Its all about flashy shoots, 3's and high scores.
Look at the age when defending is an art. High frequency body contact, using arm to push the back of the backling down attacking team. But hey, it's no more now... such defense would have been called a foul today.
That's why i stop watching NBA games.... since most of these games nowadays are just boring 3-points contest.
Mi preferido es el rodman de los pistons
Anyone who can get Magic pissed on D, das a great defender. Magic was pissed
Why was Van Exel in this?! Why zoom in on him to never show him? Fix it.
Did Rodman ever play for the bulls against magic?
Madonna!!!😅
He did the dirty work!!
Greatest defender in nba history. How can that be when bird used to wipe his ass on Rodman and Rodman has bird playing in Europe if he played now.
Bill Russell invented defense and won 11 rings with it, not Rodman.
You can make an argument for Rodman being the greatest defensive player ever. Rodman went up against the likes of shaq, zo, Ewing, Karl Malone, kemp, Barkley, AND Jordan (many other hall of famers I can’t think off the top of my head) No hate on bill at all (RIP), just saying you can make a case for Dennis as being the goat defender.

Best defender ever is gonna go to Bill or Wilt Rodman is the greatest wing defender all time easily tho
The above pic had to be Magic's last year '96 after his 2 ND (?) comeback,& Rodman's 1st with the Bulls.Magic didn't finish the season.
Don't poke the Bull.
I didn't watch the vid. No Disrespect to Rodman, the defensive player period. BUT WHO IS ON RUclips RIGHT NOW WATCH DEFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS??? SHAME ON YOU ALL😂😂😂
Watching this whole vid and i still dont know why others(Haters) say that LeBron wont survive in these era, only if they say that bcoz he always flops, I think all of us literally know that its bcoz he wants to get calls, but as we can see, lebron's body physique is like a mountain full of muscles. I really dont get it why they say james is soft(P.s sorry guys for putting lbj's name here, just want to tell my pov and also sorry for my grammar, hope ur braincells still get it:(
😂😂😂 like a mountain full of muscle?😂😂😂 ask Shaquille O'Neal bcuz rodman is the one guarding him
D'Best talaga si Rodman si Shaquil nga nahirapan e
You kidding rigjt? The psych war was practically inventrd by Bill Russell as well as help defense and jumping on blocks! Russell locks up the whole frontcourt and he was so relentless that players miss their layups trying to elude his defense. They also miss layups looking for him, even though he's sitting on thr bench! I like rodman but saying he's the greatest defender is disrespecting Bill Russell.
No it's not disrespectful at all. I'm a Celtics fan thats my fav team but he cant guard the little guys too. Rodman could guard 1-5. Bill is one of the best shot blockers ever but Rodman could legit guard any man god has ever made. Look at the difference in competition too but it's all good i respect your opinion bro
@@bbvextra , Russell can guard west pretty good, so as robertson if he bridged the imaginary gap. A lot of guards back then said that they miss layups coz they were looking for him, including one time he's actually sitting on the bench. Imagine that much impact on defense? I haven't seen anyone make that much difference on defense. Don't get me wrong, rodman is may favorite newer defensive player but with the little clips I've seen and interviews from his contemporaries, I'm convinced Bill Russell is the ultimate defensive player. With rodman coming second of course. You can't surpass the MASTER!
Rodman was more versatile imo.
You said it yourself, they would miss their Lay Ups because bill was hunting to block that lay up.
Rodman guarded people on the perimeter, his Detroit Days were awesome to watch. (You stil can find some of those late 80/begin 90's games on yt)
The best Defender? LOL..Wilt Chamberlain eat Dennis Rodmann. Chamberlains Stats in Rebounds and Blocks are much more than Rodmanns. Feelings don't count only Numbers.
No, Rodman is more faster and Smoth in difference
2:02 Modern soft NBA my mans would have fouled out of the game in one sequence😂😂
😂😂😂😂When people call 80's and 90's weak era...... How many players defence like that in this era..... D. Green? 😂😂😂 Not even close.... D. Green don't even jump out to safe the ball and keep the game going..... AD? 😂😂😂😂.... Dwight still little juice like that... But, that's all......
Olajuwon first
Rod would've got him fouled out
Draymon still green
For me, the best defensive player of the 90s is David Robinson, and the most valuable rebounder is Dennis Rodman.
Rodman was certainly a world class flopper. For me, that detracts from his overall defense. Pippen was a much better defender. So was Ron Artest. There are many centers better defensively too. For non-centers, Rodman is somewhere towards the back of the top 10.
But he was so thorough in so many aspects of the game. (1 ) ran the court . ( 2) rebounded- relentlessly. ( 3) guarding a strong big man was not his strong point, but could play it adequately ( 4) ..could shut down anyone else on the remaining 4 pos.(5) tireless defender.
@@homoerectus744no one wants to speak about the level of competition Rodman had to face consistently
Rodman was a laker for a short time. I would go to games with something for him to sign. Never got close to him but it was exciting. Since LeBron joined... I have no interest in going to a laker game
Damn y'all really find any reason to complain about LeBron
