    In this video, Lloyd was on Ice with Julian Donica and Social Squared Ca. after 3 performances of their show. The goal was to have fun creating some unusual figure skating moves you haven't seen before. Julian had some great ideas that were inspired by @lima.knockout, and all he needed was a push in the right direction and he was off creating all sorts of crazy figure skating moves sliding across the ice on his boots.
    This video shows the creative process he went through while trying to figure the moves out. I thought the end results were amazing and it was a pleasure to sit back and document the process.
    Big shoutout to Julian Donica for his crazy ideas and guts for throwing himself into everything with no fear what so ever 😂 Shout out to Alex Gunther of Social Squared Ca. for filming the content.

      @@IceCoachOnline When I was learning to skate, we were not allowed to step on the ice without gloves (and girls' hair neatly tied up). Though I know rules don't apply to coaches. 😎 Actually most of the coaches I know are examples of what students must not do. 🤔

      Like standing on the ice with a hot cup of coffee? Coaches love doing that and would tell skaters off for doing the same! 😂

    I absolutely love experimenting with new moves. It gives my skating routines a unique and fun twist.
    Speaking of which, have you ever tried doing the reverse penguin (stop) or inversion?
    The reverse penguin, or backwards penguin stop, is similar to the first move in this video; however, instead of keeping both feet grounded, you shift from one foot to the next. The inversion on the other hand is simply an inverted spread eagle. So instead of having your toes and knees facing outwards, they will now be facing inwards.

    • @IceCoachOnline
      @IceCoachOnline  4 года назад +3

      Yes it can be a lot of fun trying out new moves like this, it's one of my favourite things to do on the ice too! I like skaters that innovate.
      I have done a reverse penguin (if I am thinking of the right move) and also I can do an inversion, but not very well! I'm a lot better at the regular outside spread Eagle. I have a friend that can a great inversion and it looks really cool!

    lol thats great! i had someone ask me one time "What what that move you just did?" i replied "not falling" she laughed and said it looked graceful. One time one of my hands was on the ice. I caught a ice sliver and it gashed my hand. Be careful while sliding hands on ice!

    Then i saw the water bottle and it made me think about using hockey pucks!!!
    Really nice chill vid and it's stuff that i can do =D
    Idk how people in gb call them but here we have people called freestylers using hockey skates, they can do those kind of moves. As it's related to ID, is he a freestyler?? I learn most of the cool stuff from them rather than the club tbh

    Why are you so afraid to skate forward..... I learned ice dancing and I’ve never skated before but I’m a dancer since a long now , 43 years long of Classical Dance plus Modern Jazz and I’ve Mastered all dances even country with Texan Woman and so much more..... But , I’m under contract to Master ice-dance that I only learn through my Tabs and computer.
    Sorry for my English Mistakes but I have a National exam in France next year after my ice Show in March.
    I’m falling in Love with the ice and I have my own syntetic Rink From X Traice. I have the chance to be right because of dance and to bend knees it’s not Natural for me but I’m forcing to and my Forward Stroking is better now that I use T position.
    I refused to have a coach or some lesson just because , it’s my last Dance and that means to me that it’s my real Lifetime ’til the end of mine.
    I have my Coach Julia on Line and I ’m interesting by men figures, like a lunge Pistol pose or another.
    I have to dance on ” Nirvana ” song named ” Come as you are ” , plus a right ” What a Feeling ” from Flashdance Movie, an English song from Céline Dion ” Lying Down ” who’s speaking about P.N. and so much to please my followers on my private instagram . Hope I find my wishes to you but sometimes we can’t show your feet because of the speach Written instruction. YESTERDAY was only my 27th times on the ice and now I’m learning more techniques to make Choregraphy.
    Thank you for your lessons my Dear

    I don't recommend doing these moves, first of all you get no points, you loose points, and second of all, you don't want to sprain your ankles. It hurts, and the sadness of not being able to skate for half a year suck!

    • @IceCoachOnline
      @IceCoachOnline  4 года назад +2

      These moves are high risk, and only recommended for people in great shape and with exceptional ability. So I agree with you that the risk of injury doing this is high
      This video wasn't telling people to try it, it was documenting the process of creating new things.
      Where as the moves involving a bottle on the ice will have you lose marks in a competion environment, sliding on the boots in not illegal and will not lose you marks. Neither will inverting your feel to stop in an unusual way. So these moves in the eyes of judges will be seen as creative and unique and bump up your choreography mark. A Great example of a high level skater using similar boot slides to great effect is Olympic Champion Charlie White back in 2008/09 season OD. I remember there was a lot of buzz around this from a skaters perspective competing and from hearing the judges speak.
