I’ve found that spinning on a surface with a bit more traction makes for fewer scary mishaps. A nice large sheet of vinyl flooring from the home improvement store is a great practice surface. Thanks for the great videos!
Yeah that sounds like a good plan. The floor i was spinning on threw you off very quickly if you did the slightest thing wrong. Vunyl flooring sounds good! If I could throw some down outside when I wanted to practice on the spinner, even better! Then I wouldn't fear breaking the television either haha
Seconded. My old flat had wooden floors, and the spinner used to shoot out from under me a lot. A friend of mine uses it outside on the tarmac, guess it'll get a bit pitted, but looks quite stable in her vids.
I was given a spinner for Christmas and was really struggling with it. Following your advice here has made an instant difference! It's still really hard but it feels more controlled and I'm getting more rotations before I fall off
I'm happy to hear my advice in the video helped you get in a few more rototaions when using the spinner! Try to get off it before you fall though as the spinner is more than happy to throw you off onto the ground! You don't want to hurt yourself.
😭 This "first in a while" is like my "can't even dream of". OK, wow, that tip to just turn and stop barely moving is amazing. And that "hook", never knew my leg could/should be straight there. I instantly tried to bend at the knee and hold "h" position before trying to bring my leg in. That obviously didn't make things easier 😂 Thank you very much for the advice and for the proper safety warnings!
I just ordered my spinner and it's coming on Monday. This video is very helpful because it will be my first time trying it and I just didn't know where to start. Thanks again for the video 🙆🏻♀️ you just got a new subscriber. 🤗
I'm happy to hear this video was helpful for you and that you chose to subscribe to me channel🙂 this is the exact reason a made the video, when I received the spinner, It didn't come with any instructions and I thought it could be confusing for people when they get them.
Hi, Thank you for the great tips on starting off. These are much harder than spins on the ice for sure. I really appreciate your safety tips for wearing shoes, and also the warning about getting off the spinner when things go wrong instead of trying to "save it"! A safety tip of my own is to put masking tape on the bottom of the spinner to cover the rocker. A plastic spinner on laminate flooring was just way too little friction -- with the tape, it still spins very easily but doesn't slip out so easily. Just replace the tape when it starts to wear out.
I just got my Pro Skating spinner and, along with it, you get the instruction how to make your first spins on it. Was a pleasant bonus to the purchase. It says the same exercise as at 3:25

You're welcome! I am looking at making a backspin video at the moment. I'm actually looking for something I can throw onto the grass outside to use the spinner on so I have more room to do more that just uprights. I can't even to a scratch spin with my arms overhead without hitting a light !
@@IceCoachOnline thank you. Looking forward to the video. Rarely am I grateful to be barely 5 foot tall. Since you are in a house you could probably set up some tiles or wooden planks in the yard.
Thank you Lloyd! I've found it also much safer spinning in shoes especially with firm sole so that the foot is stable like in ice skates. But yeah, those rainbow ponies are dangerous things)))
Thanks for addressing ways how not to spin. I think I am swinging my leg or arms faster than the other and it is turning me into an upside down cat trying to land when falling...you swivel off balance immediately. I have no dance/ballet background, which seems to really help. I was a swimmer/water polo player/bad gymnast/good weight lifter first 32 years.
Thanks for letting me know the common mistakes advice was helpful 🙂 you sound like you have some good experience in other sports, and if you are a good weight lifter you will have a good strong core! When you get the technique down for the spinner, you should find your experience in other sports help!
My spinner has said "get off, mate" to me quite a few times! 🙈 Wish I'd had this video when I first got it. One question I have had for a while: My foot is actually bigger than that type of spinner. How should I step on it? (Have it centred under my foot, or...?)
Glad you liked the video! I would recommend that you make sure that you have the ball of your foot on some part of the spinner. The reason is because most of the spins you will be doing on the ice will have you turning with the weight on the ball of the foot, but the exception being advanced spins where you change the edge of the spin.
I totally need this. We would have had a testing actually, but it got cancelled because of Corona. The testing will now be at the beginning (:P) of the next season beginning of September (hopefully). Spinning is my weakness, so that would help improving my balance till then.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video ❤️Awesome! I didn't realise roller skaters use it too! We do a group spinner class on wednesday, all levels are welcome! Send an email to team@icecoachonline.com if you're interested in joining us for it.
@@IceCoachOnline Thank you! I'm sure you'll eventually run the gamut for spins, but would you be able to next make a video for back upright? Thank you!
@@IceCoachOnline And btw, I tried your method this morning and it worked!!! The 3 steps are great. Free leg straight behind, freeleg in front, freeleg to side/bent. Thank you!
@@IceCoachOnline regarding the back spin, I'm just applying the same principle and it works just the same, but if you have opportunity, I'd love to see more spin videos. Thank you!
Hi, thx for the great video!! There is a new version of Edea spinner, Edea Maui. Its rocker is not in the center but more to the front and it simulates more realistic to the blades as it has arch to the sides as well. Difficult!!!
I'm 22 and I never been on ice before but figure skating was always my biggest dream and I'll be starting lessons in 3 months! 😊 In the last 4 years I worked hard on my flexibility and I started training and practicing some tricks off ice around 10 months ago, and even got a spinner a few months ago and already got pretty used to it! I see that skaters usually spin to the left which is weird to me cause it's so much easier for me to spin and do tricks like the scratch spin or camel spin when I spin to the right on my left leg I just wonder, how hard is it on ice? Is it easier learning spinning on ice than on a spinner?
Just bought one at the skating shop and it’s so fun yet so hard ! I don’t have enough space on parquet floor so I’m spinning on tiles. I’m worried about the damage it could do to the sole...
great video! i bought one of these months ago but couldn't find anything explaining the proper way to start using it. there's lots of videos showing people spinning on them like they do in the rink, but since i can't spin on ice, those weren't helpful. thanks for breaking it down! :-)
Thank you for the super helpful video! Would you recommend using an ankle weight on the free leg to simulate the weight of the skate boot? I'm learning the scratch spin, and the thing that always puts me off balance is the "skate" pulling me outside of the spin.
I had my spinner for a while now, maybe for half a year, and I can see the back of it has a slant opposite to the side I spin towards. I was wondering if that makes a difference to my spins off ice and when I should get a new spinner. Also, thank you for all the amazing videos you make!
Did you see the video I just realeased showing twizzles on the spinner? I'm working on others too. If you like using the spinner, you can also try our spinner zoom class, we normally have a good group of people learning in the class and it ends up being a lot of fun for everyone. The classes are kept small so that I can give everyone feedback as we go through the different moves and exercises.
Thank you so much for the twizzles on spinner video! It’s for my daughter who is 6 years old. So helpful, especially while staying home. Looking forward to more tutorials on the spinner - there is nothing out there! Will check out the zoom classes. Any tips on how to hop off the spinner once spinning? Love your videos and your energy!
Great video! My stronger leg is the right one and I like to spin clockwise (when I say spin I mean 1 or 2 revolutions 😞 just starting to learn) as I’m just beginning I feel like I could just spin to any side but definitely feel more comfortable spinning clockwise on my right leg but if I were to jump (like the tiniest jump) I feel like I would be more comfortable jumping counter clockwise so weird? 💙⛸
That's a little bit unusual to want to spin one way and jump the other! I sometimes find that people who feel this way, feel this because they used to do another sport (like ballet) whenre they spent a lot of time turning the opposite way to their on ice jump way ! It's very very rare that someone can jump both ways on the ice! But I have seen stephane lambiel do double axels and triple salchow both ways with ease!
Ice Coach Online I think I will definitely won’t be one of those jumping or spinning both sides 😂 🤣 Thank you for the live stream today, so good to see the three of you 💙⛸

What a cute spinner😍! The edea ones are much easier to use i got one out of light plastik - very dangerous because it's super slippery! By the way i love your beautiful wallpaper with the birds😍!
The slippery aspect of some are terrifying! One moment your hunk you're doing amazing, the next moment you're on your face questioning what you were thinking moments ago 😂 Thanks! We call it the crane room! 🙂
I'm thinking I might buy a spinner to practice my spins I'm a roller skater and this might be something I can handle and I will take your advice and start slow. Is it possible to do sit spins and camels on a spinner
Yes definitely start slow! They can be dangerous at first. Also, it is absolutely possible to do a camel spin and sit spin on one. I cover them regularly in my off ice spinner classes!
Great lesson. I never used this type of spinner. I had the ball bearing lazy susan type. It had no rocker. Do you find using the rockered spinner translates well to ice?
Thank you! haven't used the other type of spinner since I was a child. I would love to get my hands on one now to see how it compares. I think that it does translate well to the ice, it is really good for finding your centre and understanding your position. It's also 10x harder.
@@IceCoachOnline Here you go on amazon: www.amazon.com/Metal-Spinner-Ice-Skate-Training/dp/B004FXFGV6/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=ice+skating+spinner&qid=1588584574&sr=8-7 I'd love to hear how you think these compare. Since I am now on quad roller skates, the rockered spinners do not translate in center of balance. However, they are useful for balance in general and developing positions.
@@claudianowakowski I will have to try and get a hold of them from somewhere else as that doesn't ship to the UK 😭 but that's a great idea for a video!
I swear, the first time I saw one of these, I never saw the bearing based spinners ever again. I did own one of each, and I think they are both good for their own purposes, the spinner shown here is more true to feel for spinning on a blade, but the other is really good for getting the position down without worrying about a rocker.
I struggle to get into the hook position on ice. I always lose my balance when I do it. On ice, I was taught to push and throw myself towards the direction I'm going, then swing my right leg from the back to the side and place it in the front. Perhaps I don't have the right technique.
Thank you for this video. Can you please give advise on how not to disperse from center after gaining some speed? When I gain speed It becomes very hard to stand on spinner. I start to get out of my circle Plus when I put my leg up for the first move I lose my balance easily..
Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the video ❤️ This is a tough one as there are a few different point's that come into the equation, such as core strength and technique. I'm working on a video that answers this at the moment! But to start, mark sure you are engaging and lifting up through your core as you use the spinner. My latest video on twizzles on the spinner should help you understand this concept too! We can also help you in our zoom lessons as a lot of people learn spinning techniques with me on there. We have a group spinning class on Wednesdays, send me an email at team@icecoachonline.com if you want more details!
I got mine from the off-ice skating website. Did you watch my video on using the ballet turn board? If Edea spinners are sold out the ballet turn board is a great alternative at a fraction of the price! You can find them on amazon/AliExpress.
Preferably not a unicorn and small child 😂 one of my lessons on zoom showed me their aloha spinner and I did think that would have been more appropriate for me 😅
My spinner has just arrived. I tried spinning with this technique and It definitely made difference in terms of balance. Thanks a lot for this video! So, yes It is very hard to centralize with spinner. I have decentralization problem when I try camel spins. Do you have any tricks on this?
Glad to hear the video helped you out! It's hard to say without seeing your camel spin, but my guess is that you are not correctly positioned over your standing leg, possibly you free hip is not open enough which is making you fall into the circle too much. You should try to work on bracing that free side up and over the skating side. Practice balancing in the position on the spinner without spinning. If you struggle to do this it will be very hard to do when you add the spinning in. I'm working making another spinner video talking about different positions.
@@IceCoachOnline Thank you. I guess I should practice more on balancing on spinner without spinning as you advised. I also need to do more stretching to feel more comfortable on this pose. Can't wait for the video! thanks a lot.
Hi Steven, Spinning is something that your body needs to adapt to, but it takes time and regular practice. I don't normally get dizzy from spinning anymore (been skating for many years), but if I take a couple weeks off I can feel it! So at the start just try to spin a 2-3 rotations a few times a day and do it everyday. Before long you will see that you can do that without getting dizzy, then you can add a few more rotations. Keep doing that just adding bit by bit until your body adapts to it. And when I am talking about spinning here, it can even be just turning by stepping around smoothly on two feet while keeping your upper body and head steady. Don't spot, and when you feel dizzy just stop. The coaches video here about starting on a spinner would be great practice because you start by doing just one rotation at a time. Maybe you can do two or three of these in a row, before you start to get tired and feel dizzy. Then just stop and try again later after a rest. After you can do a few of these single rotation exercises in a row without getting dizzy, then add on the open/leg forward position and do that combo until you can do it well without getting dizzy. Soon you will be on the last step! Also be sure to practice the steady standing position that he showed on the spinner. This is a very good exercise for strengthening the core muscles needed for spinning. You can even do it off the spinner standing on the ball of your foot. It works well that way too.
Found out 2 weeks ago about spinners. I am so excited to have at it. Even at 51 years I still skate in my dreams and bought skates in wild determination to blur the day away inside. Thanks a bunch. Your my new coach! One question~ Am I nuts to try this with my real skates on? Yippee 💫
Are you asking if you should try the spinner with your skates on????????? Please don't! They are dangerous enough with your shoes on 😂From teaching spinner classes for the past 8 months, I have found that improving skills on the spinner has surprisingly good results when your body/mind connects the dots between the off ice and on ice work.
Yes of course! It replicates spinning on the ice quite well. And if you can spin on this you will be better at spinning on the ice as this little tool is 10x harder!
Great video, as I bought a spinner for my daughter. She's 6yo and just started figure skating last year, it looked like fun, so I've started thinking about buying a pair of figure skates for myself. Do you have any recommendations? I know the basics as I skate on hokey skates and inline skates
It is fun, but it's pretty tough! Send me an email at team@icecoachonline.com and I will send you a few links of skated I would recommend for someone experience in hockey/inline skating looking to give figure skating a try 👍
Possibly see if there are any figure skating specific shops near you. My local figure skating shop did a fitting to choose the best skate for me and did heat molding to get a good fit.
Send me an email at team@icecoachonline.com and I can send you a few different options, as well as where I personally purchased the spinner from (yes I paid for it! This was NOT a sponsored video!)
Do you mean right leg as in spinning on the right leg in the same direction? (I did a video covering this already - backspin). I only spin this direction though, I would have to find a lefty to demonstrate the other direction!
The people at my rink use these on the carpet we have on the floor. The carpet isn't fluffy, and quite hard and compact. Its a lot more fun when you feel yourself fall XD
I have carpeted floors at home and I just can't figure our how to make the spinner work. I tried putting a piece of ply or perspex down , but it doesn't help much, cause i think it is still sinking somehow. I tried it in the office on the concrete floor last week and it was amazing, but not sure how to resolve the home situation.
Another subscriber left a comment about using a large piece of vinyl flooring from the home store worked well for them! Perhaps that could help you out too! It's something I will trying putting down on the grass outside so I have more room 🙂
@@sabinebach1417 I can't take credit for that! One of the subscribers of my channel told me about that it this comments section! This is why I love chatting with people here, there are some awesome ideas ❤️
You stand your foot on it, the foot you want to turn on that is, and you walk through the movement just like you would on the ice. Using the upper body and lower body counter positions to make the turn happen on the floor and maintaining balance on the one foot. We practice this a lot in some of the zoom classes.
I wonder how everyone’s doing having to have time off the ice? I’m finding it hard at the minute because I miss it so much! What’s everyone been doing to keep motivated? I’m hoping we will be able to skate again sometime soon but it still seems like it’s a long way off yet. Does anyone think it’s possible to social distance at the ice rink and if so, how?
Our season was about to end anyways and would resume before October. I'm kind of glad for the breather although I still miss the ice. I was wondering about social distancing. I see a ton of problems. Such as the cold moist air, masks not really being an option and space being a luxury for the rich and powerful 😂 However, looks like several medicaments are currently being put to work. And they seem to help with heavy symptoms. If test go well, we'll return to normal life possibly even by September or so. Since the lack of medication for patients with too heavy symptoms is the main reason there's shutdowns in first place. It's going to be alright. A lot can be done with a break. And motivation wise, now is the best time to get tons of advice from professionals who're offering free streams via ISU etc.
I find it very hard to stay motivated, but we started zoom classes with my coach and it helps. I don’t know when it would be possible to skate on ice again. Maybe they can reduce the capacity to allow for more distancing, but then it doesn’t work out financially. I think masks are not a problem so long as I can actually skate! I saw pictures of people skating in masks in South Korea.
@@tranquilitytranquility1407 Maybe it works for beginners, but the moment you move a little more, masks are really a problem. They make it really hard to breathe and you're also supposed to switch them when they're getting too moist from your breath and in the moist surroundings of the rink, masks might end up doing more harm than good. Not to mention dripping noses are so common, people will pull them down all the time due to that. That makes them touch theit faces. 😂 It's really complex. If there were easy answers, rinks (and a lot of other things) would be open.
Laura no way could social distancing work with a public session, and if they were to limit numbers for that, the rink would be running at a loss....the same for even private training...while you could definately social distance, it would be financially detrimental to the rink. It’s so hard, when all you want to do is get back on. Counting down the days is hard when you don’t have a date when restrictions are going to be lifted, and made worse by the fact some other sports are being considered for re-opening..
Interesting conversation here, I was speaking to Stefano recently (he was my first guest on the live stream) and he is back on the ice teaching his students in Berlin, but they are only allowed on the ice for 1 hour per day. They must keep a 2 meter distance from each other in the changing rooms and they are only allowed 6 people on ice.
I don't know why, I tried only couple of times but I can't spin on spiner very well ... but my little students can😅 Thank you for great tips! Would be nice if you make video haw to do three turns on spiner.
Let me know if the tips help you spin a little better on it! 🙂 That's a good idea for a video, thank you! I have been working on turns like that in zoom lessons too actually!
@@IceCoachOnline Yeah! I think it's great exercise for balance and rotation in general but spinning on ice is actually way different... And spinner is for some reason better for backward spin than forward and things like loop jump.
It does have a curve to the bottom, but it's insanely difficult to rotate in it, let alone try and rotate on a specific point of the curve. That's what I found when trying it out personally.
The spinner is really hard and I found that I had similar issues. No harm in trying to spin both ways, but typically skater ls only spin one way. This can lead to the body becoming unbalanced however, so not a bad idea to practice both ways on the spinner.
@@IceCoachOnline I actually practice both sides :)) I also try to imitate twizzles, going toe-heel. I'm gaining more and more control overall which is fun because I can, at last, try different stuff on the spinner :D

What's spins will you have to do for your testing?
Roller skaters also use the spinner to practice, haha
It will be interesting to join the zoom class tho
Thanks for sharing, I love the video
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video ❤️Awesome! I didn't realise roller skaters use it too! We do a group spinner class on wednesday, all levels are welcome! Send an email to team@icecoachonline.com if you're interested in joining us for it.
Thank you for the great 1,2,3 step process for getting into a forward upright. I look forward to trying it out!!
Let me know how you get on with it 🙂
@@IceCoachOnline Thank you!
Thank you!
I was working on that with someone today! That will be the next spin video I cover on the spinner.
I have an Edea spinner which I bought last year. Totally agree 02:07. It is much harder than spinning on ice.
Exactly, but it will no doubt help your spins! If you can spin on this little beast you'll have an easier time on the ice.
In the last 4 years I worked hard on my flexibility and I started training and practicing some tricks off ice around 10 months ago, and even got a spinner a few months ago and already got pretty used to it! I see that skaters usually spin to the left which is weird to me cause it's so much easier for me to spin and do tricks like the scratch spin or camel spin when I spin to the right on my left leg
I just wonder, how hard is it on ice? Is it easier learning spinning on ice than on a spinner?
Please can you review the new edea E spinner?? :)
You're welcome! Thanks for letting me know the video was helpful to you. I'll make more videos like this if people like them
Wow, that is... just in time!
🙂 You're welcome! Let me know if it helps 💪
Thank you for the super helpful video!
Would you recommend using an ankle weight on the free leg to simulate the weight of the skate boot?
I'm learning the scratch spin, and the thing that always puts me off balance is the "skate" pulling me outside of the spin.
XD great video! Intrigued to know if the spinner scratches the floor at all?
Cheers
I just got 1 and already it is helping! I spin on marble, which is bloody scary if I put strong force into the spin
I would love to know the difference between the Edea spinner and a regular spinner (like the ones a few dancers use)
The rocker is different. The curvature on regular spinner is much bigger.
Are referring to the ballet spinners you can buy on Amazon for £15 or get the same one on AliExpress for £5?
Ice Coach Online yeah, those kind of spinners 😅
I had my spinner for a while now, maybe for half a year, and I can see the back of it has a slant opposite to the side I spin towards. I was wondering if that makes a difference to my spins off ice and when I should get a new spinner. Also, thank you for all the amazing videos you make!
Such a great and loooong needed video! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it 🙂
🤣🤣🤣I love the over exaggerated infomercial slip and fall due to wearing socks.
Sir can we do all the tricks of iceskating by inline skating roller skates if we are living in a hot climate country ?
Yes please show us how to do more on the spinner! Twizzles, 3 turns, brackets, camel, sit spin, scratch, back scratch, etc.
Ice Coach Online I think I will definitely won’t be one of those jumping or spinning both sides 😂 🤣
Thank you for the live stream today, so good to see the three of you 💙⛸

👍 Excellent explanation!
I love your video it cool : )😎👍 i am practice the spin and i am doing sit spin it hard
I'm thrilled to hear you liked the video 🙂 sit spin is a tough on, I don't have enough space to practice it in my house unfortunately
Ice Coach Online haha nice nickname😂 and yes the slippery thing is very terrifying!😲
I'm thinking I might buy a spinner to practice my spins
I'm a roller skater and this might be something I can handle and I will take your advice and start slow.
Is it possible to do sit spins and camels on a spinner
Yes definitely start slow! They can be dangerous at first. Also, it is absolutely possible to do a camel spin and sit spin on one. I cover them regularly in my off ice spinner classes!
I think its also a good idea to put soemthing under the spinner as it will scratch the wood floors, maybe buy a slab of plywood.
Thank you: very useful video! Can you also give us some advice for spinner backspins?
I'm actually working on a video to cover the backspin at the moment! I hope to have it uploaded next week!
Watching you spin so well my mind is like *WITCHCRAFT!!!* 😯👏👏👏
😂🤣😂
Great lesson. I never used this type of spinner. I had the ball bearing lazy susan type. It had no rocker. Do you find using the rockered spinner translates well to ice?
Thank you! haven't used the other type of spinner since I was a child. I would love to get my hands on one now to see how it compares. I think that it does translate well to the ice, it is really good for finding your centre and understanding your position. It's also 10x harder.
@@IceCoachOnline Here you go on amazon: www.amazon.com/Metal-Spinner-Ice-Skate-Training/dp/B004FXFGV6/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=ice+skating+spinner&qid=1588584574&sr=8-7
I'd love to hear how you think these compare.
Thank you-this is great!!🎉
I struggle to get into the hook position on ice.
We have a group spinning class on Wednesdays, send me an email at team@icecoachonline.com if you want more details!
different positions on the spinner would be great! thanks :)
Good idea, I just need to find space outside to film some dirrfering positions like camel spin.
Would love to join the zoom class, but i guess I should focus on my Uni’s assignment first. 😂
You don't want to fail you uni course because you are figure skating off ice with us on zoom! 😅
Love it!!!! You are the best!!
Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed it ❤️
Thanks for the video! Does anyone know anywhere that still has these in stock in the UK? Most places I've seen don't have them at the moment
I got mine from the off-ice skating website. Did you watch my video on using the ballet turn board? If Edea spinners are sold out the ballet turn board is a great alternative at a fraction of the price! You can find them on amazon/AliExpress.
GREAT VIDEO !!
I laughed so hard at your spinner!!! Which design did you want? Aloha?
Do you have any tricks or tips for people who's not used to spinning? Because I get dizzy all the time.
One question~
Am I nuts to try this with my real skates on?
Yippee 💫
Are you asking if you should try the spinner with your skates on????????? Please don't! They are dangerous enough with your shoes on 😂From teaching spinner classes for the past 8 months, I have found that improving skills on the spinner has surprisingly good results when your body/mind connects the dots between the off ice and on ice work.
actually, I found if you do it more on a grippy surface you get more friction to work with hence using physics in the body to control
This is so informative 😍 is it good for a complete novice skater to try this tho?
Yes of course! It replicates spinning on the ice quite well. And if you can spin on this you will be better at spinning on the ice as this little tool is 10x harder!
@@IceCoachOnline Thank you for replying. My ice rink closed after my third class so I'm trying to do all your off ice videos hahahaha

I'm haply to hear you're enjoying them! Thanks for letting me know ❤️
Can you do all this on a turntable? I have a turntable but not the Edea spinner. Is the technique the same?
Great video, as I bought a spinner for my daughter. She's 6yo and just started figure skating last year, it looked like fun, so I've started thinking about buying a pair of figure skates for myself. Do you have any recommendations? I know the basics as I skate on hokey skates and inline skates
It is fun, but it's pretty tough! Send me an email at team@icecoachonline.com and I will send you a few links of skated I would recommend for someone experience in hockey/inline skating looking to give figure skating a try 👍
Possibly see if there are any figure skating specific shops near you. My local figure skating shop did a fitting to choose the best skate for me and did heat molding to get a good fit.
can you use the spinner on concrete? I would like to get one but I don't have enough free space to use it inside my flat
Great video! Could you share a link where I can buy this online? Thanks
Send me an email at team@icecoachonline.com and I can send you a few different options, as well as where I personally purchased the spinner from (yes I paid for it! This was NOT a sponsored video!)
Can you do the right leg pls
Do you mean right leg as in spinning on the right leg in the same direction? (I did a video covering this already - backspin). I only spin this direction though, I would have to find a lefty to demonstrate the other direction!
Ok
Thank you🥳
does it ruin the floor that it’s on? and how does it stick onto the shoe?
If you dont have a spinner can you replicate this with hard floors with just your socks?
I loved your video, now I just need to buy a spinner haha. 🤣🤣🤣😋
Be cautious when trying it! It's punishingly unforgiving! 😂
Can you do how to do waltz jump?
And entrance to jump & spin?
The people at my rink use these on the carpet we have on the floor. The carpet isn't fluffy, and quite hard and compact. Its a lot more fun when you feel yourself fall XD
It sounds like a pretty good surface to use the spinner! The floor I was on is so slippery it was terrifying 😂
@@IceCoachOnline It looked quite slippery. The carpet grips a lot better than a smooth surface.
Yeah I'm going to find something different to spin on next time!
Just got my spinner 🤙🏽 re watched this video for 'new toy' instructions 😁 ready to spin....this might be the last you'll hear from me...............🤭😅
I have carpeted floors at home and I just can't figure our how to make the spinner work.

I'm working on them 👍💪😁
How would you best use these to practice 3 turns and brackets?
More spinner videos, please.
No problem! 🙂 I have to wait for the sun to shit so I can go outside to film some positions like camel spin 😂 too much rain here.

@@IceCoachOnline actually I gave it up and give away the spiner, but maybe I'll purchase new one and give it a try once again.
@@anaid3308 it can be a great tool, but I'm not convinced it's 100% necessary! I know plenty of phenomenal spinners who have never used them!
@@IceCoachOnline Yeah! I think it's great exercise for balance and rotation in general but spinning on ice is actually way different... And spinner is for some reason better for backward spin than forward and things like loop jump.
Why the spinner can't be designed to simulate the rocker on the skates? Just by bringing the curve forward???
It does have a curve to the bottom, but it's insanely difficult to rotate in it, let alone try and rotate on a specific point of the curve. That's what I found when trying it out personally.
Thank you so much omgg
What is the name of that thing????I forget it😔

Okay 👌
I get really motion sick from using this, and I try to spin both ways.
Me, too, and I find it weird. I feel 5x worse after 2-3 spins on a spinner than after 5-6 spins on ice :/
@@idastaszczuk9523 my dance teacher gave me a really good tip for dizziness that might help you. When you're feeling off, rotate very slowly on the spot in the opposite direction from the one you were spinning in
