The carpet isn't ideal for you spinner, you'll need something to put down over it! Glad you liked the video anyway ❤️

I think you would enjoy my Saturday "skating technique" class, which should actually be renamed as "Adult Learn to Skate". It's a small group of adult skaters, and we go over various techniques like basic turns, crossrolls, forward skating etc.

Haha I have the same cute spinner ❤️ thanks for all your videos, when the rinks are closed there's nothing else to do but to train off ice... Missing the ice though

I love you really, thank you for all the great advice. Our rinks are not open and is so hard to keep in good shape off ice. I miss the rink terribly.

They aren't open for me either, which country are you based in? If you return to the ice in great shape, you will be surprised how your skill level comes back so quickly

Thank you. What is "check"? Does it mean to be in the position and hold?

There is a video on my channel where I explain what checking is in detail 🙂 You should check it out 😁

You do have flexibility - your ballet positions!!! Are you trolling us? 😂😂😂 Or you just have more social abilities than me lol
Tbh, your website gave me an impulsive need about patreon - i resisted. And this vid to buy smt else than the amazon spinner. Imo it's all that a tryhard people want and need, or just someone passionated.
I did some marketing and sell, this is great too, i really like the work and your patreon will haunt me lol

You don't need to be able to do the splits to have good posture and extensions! 😁
If the website gave you the impulsive need to join Patreon, it's set up well 😂
It's not set up to rip people off either, it's there as a resource for people that would like more. The reason it isn't free is that it costs money to run and maintain a website, which sometimes people don't understand. I can't operate it at a loss 😔

@@IceCoachOnline I'm more flexible on some points but i still can't have pretty postures like this. Or just Anastasia's layback lol
Those people are just too young or cheap - sorry. Someone had to work on your logo, your vids, you have fees for the website, have to fill up the fridge...
And as i can imagine how time consuming all of this is, never feel bad man especially than skating isn't exactly like football. I've seen bank accounts with 15% and we were just rookies, i can't imagine for others in London... Your work is honest, decent and about to share and teach a passion!!! Also when i compare with US prices, it's something that people can afford ;)
Tbh it's all i dreamed to have in my club. A lot of class and vids, even how to mount blades - i had hard times lol. And flexibility with Anastasia or Fitness with you... 😍😍😍 I wanted to click on a LOT of things...
It's just that it's been more than 10 years that i practice a lot alone, i know too about food - generate ATP, nitrogen balance - or biomechanic and mostly, i still don't know who will be my coach next season. Following this, i'd rather support you than spotify or netflix, I'll see
      .
Gl for your business, sincerely =)

Sacrilegious way of learning turns for adult skaters: jump it. Coaches will tell you not to, but adults expect the turn to happen by turning the foot, and not turning the rest of the body. I would say jump it first, so your body gets used to the rotation. From 2 feet to 2 feet, from 1 foot to 2, from 2 feet to 1, and then from 1 to 1. Then make the jump lower. Then make it so low that the rocker still touches the ice. And that's your turn.
Kids get it anyway, but the same way you can't teach kids like they were uni students, you can't teach uni students like they were kids. And coaches (who learned to skate as kids) know only the kid way. There might be exceptions, but I have spent infinite hours on the ice, and all I heard was the coaches screaming the exact same instructions to all students, from 5 year old to 65. Nah.

That's certainly one way at looking at things, and jumping it would teach the theory of bend in the knee, then rise up to turn, then bend back down again after the turn.
The difficulty of teaching your way to some people, is they don't want to leave at ice, and asking them to jump is not a nice thought for them.
Teaching kids is very different to teaching adults, the information is the same, but the delivery of the information and exercises used to get there can differ. That's the job of a skilled coach, to get the information across to the student in the most efficient way possible.
I am a firm believer that when it comes to turns, if you make sure your body is in the correct position before the turn and balanced where it needs to be, the turn will happen naturally and easily. If you don't prepare correctly, it is very difficult, it feels awkward, you get the sense you will fall.
When teaching adults over zoom or face to face, we train the entrance to the turn a lot..... Then when I say try to do the turn, suddenly it works easily and I get the reply "that was easy". It was easy because they set up correctly.
