    Thanks very much!. A former runner and amateur athlete, now "elderly" and hoping to avoid a second THR. Your videos and Hip Fix program have been so helpful, not just in terms of physical improvements , but in terms of the sense of ongoing possibilities, even in my 70s..

    Great video. Love how you actually had the timer rolling with rest timers and dings. Makes it way more convenient for following. Using the rest periods to explain the next movement is perfect. The timers with sound is helpful for setting your phone down to follow along. I feel like these types of things are great pre workout warm ups or cool downs too.

    You’ve got some excellent exercises on RUclips that have really helped my annoying knee pain. I particularly like your medial & lateral hamstring stretches. Wondering if you could do a video on lateral quad stretching - they’re tricky to stretch!

    Hi Matt... I was recently diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis. I'm not a candidate for surgery nor any outpatient procedures. Fine. Not about to agree with any surgeries anyway. I've been extremely active all my life. Gymnastics, dance, theater, etc. I've been instructing fitness exercise for seniors...20 years now...and continue to. I am on the move constantly and sleep very well. Take a lot of bone building supplements, wisely. Yes, pain meds here & there. I continue to walk our 65 lb Dog and careful not to run too much. I am fit considering all with what's going on. A 72 yr young...normally feeling like 40-50. 5'7", 136 lb YOGA stretches, jacuzzi & massage help the most and of course...A.T.M. ! Continued success, Matt. The years have flown by. Yikes!! David...Chicago. Center For Life & Learning

      Do it without the weight until that's easy, then add the weight. The leg has significant weight by itself. No need to risk a muscle tear from overloading it before it's strong enough; these are small muscles.

    I always wonder about the ballet exercises i did as a child and how useful they might be for the muscles you are talking about today.
    One was to push your foot out as far as it would go in front , to the side , to the back of you and then lift it up but only a bit as it weighs more the further it is from your body soif oonly held a short way from the floor, works as a ankle wiehgt does.
    The other was, plies, dotn know how that is spelt. That is to bendo your knees as far as you can without taking your heels off the floor and then to bend them as far as you can after lifting the heels off the floor, but i have just seen tha tthe first part of the plie is best for strengthening your muscles. YOUr knees should face out so that they follow the line of your feet.

    I noticed I have a weak right hip. I work on my desk everyday and after just doing 2 of the exercises from this video, my right hip felt stronger. I tested it my doing one leg squat/bending down.
    I came to look for this excersise because I often have pain on my right thigh by the knee area when riding bike clipped in and somehow I came across this because my knee was not tracking properly.
    I wanted to ask how often do I need to do this exercise to keep my hip strong 💪🏼? Lmk pls

    I have something that i cant "google" because i dont know what to google. i feel a streching pain on the front of my hips after getting up from squat. at first only on my right side and now on both sides.
    it feels like it's getting intense with more weight (like deadlift). it's no pain that i cant stand but if i feel it i'll take the flex out of my hips even more slowly for less pain.
    ugh... u understand? XD
    love u

    "Muscles are the organs. . . ," that's cute! Actually, nerves enable us to move and actually give strength to muscles, which are not organs! Without nerves, we have no strength. --Just sayin'. :O)

    • @Uprighthealth
      @Uprighthealth  Год назад

      Nerves transmit a signal from one organ to the others. Obviously without nerves we wouldn’t be moving at all, but nerves firing doesn’t move you. Anyone with severe muscle atrophy still has nerves but the organs of movement are incapable of producing movement.
