I was in the same boat as you, severe arthritis in L hip, put it off for two years , had it done last June at New England Baptist in Boston ( in between the elective surgery covid shut downs ).. I’m not over weight by any means but I couldn’t put my left sock on ( not even close )…getting the hip done was the best thing I’ve ever done , I wish I had done it sooner , don’t wait ! , the problem I’ve found is the longer you wait , the stiffer all your working muscles around your hip stiffen, it’s taken me almost a full year to finally be able to get my left sock on ( and I’ve been following a rigorous stretching routine since the surgery ) it’s so incredibly nice to have full mobility again .

But nobody else ever mentioned it or if it is fixable or at least can I strengthen supporting muscles for it.. Where is best way to contact you for urgent help. Im Chronically ill with multi auto immune diseases. After being down and many surgeries, nerve and bone problems, Myofacial, other muscular problems, weight loss to 92 lbs. Ive begged for rehab to get me out of wheelchair, just getting weaker. Cant get full diagnoses from 9 docs. Home Rehab wont work with me until doctors control the pain so, they can build me, all docs say no so here I sit. How do I start to do this on my own with no pain help or other symptom help? Thanks for info, Peace

Am 25 who had internal tibial torsion when i was young and still walked in with my feets years a go.. made me look clumsy and stiff which always have made me feel like the black sheep and stupid.. my right hip is tighter and due to that i’ve sort of been limping and overuse my knees, calfs and ankels (which required an unnecessary amount of energy..) been trying to only focus on the front hips now and its mobility and strenght.. and its showing result! How i wish i thought bout this many years a go lol but better now then never i guess

I like you, but you are seem to be dealing with people who don't have a clue about fitness. I am 71 years old and would like to prevent aging deterioration as best I can. I try to do yoga every day and balance exercises. I am sure there are things you could help me do to prolong my active life. These instructions are not helpful.

I have no problem getting out a car, but I have a problem lifting my left leg into the car. I can sit in fine almost all my body, but then lifting the leg in hurts. Getting out is easy, I don't need to hold on anything.
It's been like this for a couple of months.

My sciatica hampers me from doing many of the activities you state are due to weak hips; getting up out of a chair (or toilet), going up stairs, etc. I walk 2-3 miles 5 times a week. I also swim. Squats are an issue due to the sciatica too.
