    Dude, I love that you are doing this. I know you just recently started using Resolve, but as someone a bit behind you, you are saving me and other people tons of that annoying time scrolling through forum posts and trying to find the actual answer buried among memes and random jerks chastising anyone who knows less than them for not knowing more.
    I came from Lightworks, so my learning curve is unusually circuitous, and your vids are helping a ton.

      My pleasure.
      You noticed that same weird gatekeeping from DR users too, huh?
      I’ve never experienced that with other software.
      They literally comment here daily, “That’s not how I would do it! So wrong!!”
      Like geez, sorry Leonardo. Didn’t mean to use the same DaVinci software you’re apparently protecting

    Ahhh, this converts the frame or frames to the same oldie-moldie style of freeze frame. I used to have to right click on the clip, go to Change Clip Speed, then check the Freeze Frame box. Your way is definitely faster for freezing in the middle of a clip instead of at the last frame, especially if you leave the Inspector panel open. Thanks!
    TIP: Change the color of the frozen clip to the same memorable color, so you'll always know which clips are frozen.
    Maybe someday, we'll be able to assign it to a hotkey. I would give an "F" for that! 🙂

    Hey Davinci...how about a simple right click on the spot and select "freeze frame"??? I guess that would be too simple. Some of the convoluted ways of doing things in Resolve are a real turnoff. I should be able to tailor my experience in ANY of these editing programs, move options, program what's in my right click on the timeline, etc. Everything is so hidden in menus and in esoteric keyboard shortcuts, it's maddening to a noob. I come from a much simpler editor in which I could do some very powerful things, not everything, but a lot, and it was super simple to use, and intuitive. Resolve is not at all intuitive.

    • @Daniel_Batal
      @Daniel_Batal  3 месяца назад

      I don’t disagree. That being said, once you get used to the workflow and especially if you use their hardware like the speed editor, the workflow is incredibly fast! Keep in mind, the reason they can give away a completely free version is that they are are a hardware company first who happens to make an amazing software that supports it

    Raises the question....
    Can you freeze frame say mid clip for a few seconds then return to play.
    Sometimes I'd like to freeze frame on my painting but continue with the footage after.
    Is it only possible by splitting the clip, creating the freeze and allowing it to "continue" after?

    • @Daniel_Batal
      @Daniel_Batal  2 месяца назад +1

      Depending on how you freeze it.
      Keep in mind that NLE (non-linear editing) is non destructive.
      You could delete the part you froze and just drag the portion before back out.
      All the information is still there.
      I tend to put slices in areas I want to freeze if I plan on picking back up afterwards.
      The slices can be imprecise because… editing!
