This is, by a wide margin, the clearest exposition of the all of the pull tool functions in DSM in the English language. I will be back for all of your tutorials. Kudos!
I was trying to put threads on a 1/2 in shaft, 20 tpi. Had a little triangle positioned the depth of the threads. I could pull it down and it would do all kinds of crazy stuff. It looked just fine for 1 round, then it would change from cutting to making a solid in place of the cut and the rest of the solids would disappear, keep moving down and it would show up with the threads on for a little bit. If I could get it stopped just right, it looked just fine. I knew I saw someone talking about something odd about the Revolve helix tool. So I watched this again. I cut the little triangle off at the point it touched the shaft and ran it out to where I could select it and it worked just fine. The threads have a small flat on top, so the tool never touched itself. You couldn't see where it was hitting when it was cutting and the solid just looked like a spring the shape of cut with a little space between them. THANKS A LOT, appreciate you doing this.
At 6:20 I found a quick way to select all the edges very fast, select an edge (any) press CTRL A and you have all the edges at once. Might come in handy, Kind regards Hans by thr way that goes also for faces or points.
Hi. Just some feedback on your videos. Fantastic. Beautifully presented and delivered, and done at a speed I can keep up with. I think you will used a lot once people find you. Thanks a bunch. Stephen New Zealand
I know im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Cristiano Angelo I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
YES!!! It is available in the 2D Sketch mode... IF you make a construction line in your sketch, you can then "Right-Click" on the line and from the pop-up menu select "Set As Mirror Line"... Hope That Helps!
The software Version that I just downloaded does NOT have anything on the Left-Hand Side of the Screen other than (Design and Solid), and Nothing that I Click On will bring up the 5 Bottom Buttons dealing with Edges. Have they been removed? What Version are you using for this Video?
Hi Jeff, Something must be wrong with your install maybe? I was using 4.0 but just updated to 5.0 and it is still almost identical... I will be back to making additional videos very soon!
I'm having trouble, with a separate problem in DS M. I hope you can help! Prgm. says to DEFINE RECTANGLE from CTR. [I 'SLOGGEED' through the tiny Sections Optns in the Lft-Margin, & selcted DEFINE RECTANGLE from CTR. After[Attempting] to clk the ctr-pt. ... it does NOT seem to be on-ctr. WHAT to DO? Thanks!
Hopefully, you can send Tips my way. Your Screen Display shows Properties in a READABLE colm, on the Left. Mine, however, squeezes them in a NARROW, vertical colm in the Left margin. [I'm trying to select the Create from CTR option for Rectangle] How should I deal with this? Thanks!
I’m having a really hard time with a simple task if you have a block and want to cut an angled hole through that object I can only create straight through holes but I need a 30 degree hole through a block
A quick easy way is to make a new component ... Make a cylinder the size and shape you want. Move the cylinder to the location you want the hole, then use the combine tool to cut and remove the cylinder from the block... I know it seems like a lot to do for a stupid hole, but this method sets you up for much more complicated projects in the future... Hope that helps... There is a video for using the combine tool for cutting out shapes...
Need help. Laid out a spline, did all the steps in the same order, made sure I watched it multiple times and only get an arrow following the path from the circle shape. If it is of any difference, your spline is dashed where mine is solid. Once I click on it it becomes dashed and purple.Even tried with a surface and a solid. If I click the surface of the object the arrow goes from the end of the spline to beginning. If I select the edge the arrow travels in the correct direction but no object is formed. Also get an error mess.: "Extrude produced no result" What did I miss?
I assume you are trying to use the "trajectory" function? @ 18:45 ish? A couple things to try... 1 move the face you want to pull so that it's edge is aligned and touches the spline you want to follow... 2 make sure you select the FACE to pull, not the edge of the face... When you select the spline after clicking on the Trajectory button, does the yellow curved arrow show?
@@fabricationplanet Thanks for responding so fast however, I figured it out! My spine and circle where lying flat on the same plane. Which one of your videos shows how to set up the different planes to one another. It's a little deceiving looking at a spline, difficult to tell it's direction.

Thank you so very much for your kind words. I find great inspiration from feedback like this! There will be many more to come. I promise.
I have just finished watching ALL of your videos on DesignSpark Mechanical. They are GREAT! Make some more. :)

Very good and inspiring
Thank You
Nice video, thanks for making them. How do you scale an object in a non-uniform way? Such as along X only.
only can listen to it at 1,25x Speed. This guy talks very slow an is annoying...
Thank you for your criticism! Glad you can listen faster than I can explain!
⭐🙂👍
“Solid” information, thanks.
Thank You!

Thank you for the very kind feedback. I am humbled that I am able to reach people so far away geographically! And thank You very much for subscribing!

@Cristiano Angelo It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
Thanks for taking the time to do this, very helpful just starting with DesignSpark.
With your obvious knowledge, hopefully, you can help. I have s'rched everywhere .... CANNOT find MIRROR. Does it Exist? Thanks!

Thank you so much. Your Tip makes it possible to BEGIN.
A 'unwanted' plane appeared, how Del? Thanks!

I am back, more videos will be coming.

Again you are a great help, keep doing it, God bless you
Thank You Very Much... Working on it...
Where should I go to find out how to round a flat piece of wood, each corner? Thanks!
Rounding an edge is one of the options of the chamfer function.
@@fabricationplanet I really apI'll
Excellent content.
Thank you very much for the wonderful feedback!
