IMO the rotors , you had it in the right direction,, the rotor is able to bite into the brake pad better. Look at all the F1 car...Their rotors are they way you had it, it looks backwards but its not.
I never understood why RUclipsrs never have a flashlight when working on low light areas, I've only seen Chris fix use one. I can barely see what you're talking about.

When it comes to important stuff like brakes use a torque wrench. Don’t go based off of your hands I also like to mark them with torque paint

I was thinking the same thing. They have them on the wrong side. I had to look it up again because I screwed that up on my first full brake swap.
