My guinea house is right next to the TV, so they got used to strange noises real quick. They'll sleep through an action movie like it's a lullaby. They also seem to love the sound of the vacuum, and will start popcorning like crazy as soon as I turn it on.

In rare cases piggies can popcorn for sound of vaccum,blender etc.. near them because they are not happy..its too loud for them and nervous..they get confused but its depend on the environment and situation..in your may be they are not popcorning because of happy for vaccum..may its too noisy for them

@zoes32flavaz I was adopting a third from a lady that bred them to feed to her dogs so when she said she actually had 3 girls left I took all three. Those two ended up being pregnant so I went from 3 to 5 to 9. ❤️

I've noticed that mine love being held, or allowed to just have some lap time. But theY ABSOLUTELY hate getting picked up. And don't like having the nails clipped. But, overall, they're the best pets one can have.
When I open the windows in their room, the window makes a tiny squeak which often freaks the piggies out, bless them.

My piggies most hate the notification sounds on my phone. They will happily tolerate the TV, Alexa, music and the phone but hate notification sounds and will teeth chatter at it if it pings... 🤷🏻♀️
Haha bless them! Mine can be funny about phone noises too, I think it's the short sharp noises they aren't keen on 😆
Oh. They sure are, definitely social creatures. They bond very deeply with one another and don't like being separated.
Every day mine get some couch time. Or lap time. But.
When I move them from their playpen to the couch, or couch to their playpen They go crazy.
When separated They start screaming, wide open. They can all see each other, no problem there. But will " wheek " at full volume until reunited. They can't stand being apart. If I sit down and watch some TV, they get so jealous.
Usually, which ever one I pick up, it will climb up on my shoulder and probably goes to sleep. The others will climb upon my lap and want their favorite vantpoint

Further confirmation that my pigs are really weird.
One of them forces my hand on top of their head like a dog. The other likes water (probably because she's a Rex with really dense fur, but I'm not risking skin problems just because she likes baths.)
Apparently my Pepper Boy seems to be an exception when it comes to travel. When I had severe panic attacks and I was practicing walking without panicking, I took Pepper with me in a small animal box. I took pictures of flowers and beautiful places and those are the moments where he looks out of the box for some weed. He associates something beautiful with it and sleeps in the box. Once on the way to the vet I was in the car and another person was driving, I took him out and he was sleeping in my arms. It seems like he said "Well you're here and take care of me. Then it's good for me". Pepper is a guinea pig that even sleeps in its crate in a vet waiting room. But as I said, he is an absolute exception and certainly happy not to be in the car often (unfortunately he has to shorten the routine to the vet once a month because of dental problems because of sick incisors)

question we just got guinea pigs today and the water bottle leaks when the ball is there and could you do a video on things guinea pig owners fear when outside in a cage bc we have them outside and ik its still safe but im worried there not eating or drinking but they have the stuff plz i need advise thx and your channel is unbelivably great thx

Hi! I’m wondering what hideouts that are comfy beds for my Guinea pigs you recommend? I’ve been looking at some but I’m not liking some of them. Like the purple picnic blanket pattern one was perfect!
The snuggle sacks and tunnels are always favourites, they instinctively like dark cosy places but will use open or hooded bed too. I have a tutorial video coming next on cuddle cups 😃

Something I never see is how to handle trauma piggies. My litte piggy (yes I only have one) was an unexpected guest his former owner got him out of his baby stage and then decided she didn't want him anymore so she went out side and just let the little guy go. He was maliciously chased by cats for two weeks until my wife heard about it (it was by her work) they had to flush him out of a storm drain to get him safe. My wife brought him home and he has been a bit traumatized it's been 3 months now an he's just now starting to let me pet him which I am his primary caretaker I feed him all the right stuff I never buy a product without checking if it's safe by real guinea pig owners and not just corporations propaganda. I have his cage right next to my wife and I and we constantly give him attention. Times are tough and it's been hard to pay for everything since piggies especially trauma piggies are kinda expensive it's been hard finding the right foods and hay he will eat he's a picky piggy. So buying another guinea pig is not only out of our budget but idk if he would even like another piggy like I said he VERY picky lol but we have a baby on the way so I really want to get him a friend since we won't be able to give him as much attention

I miss my wife's piglets. Little J Roc died unexpectedly and fat man Ozzy was left on his own. Poor little git had kidney problems and it wrecked my Mrs. Those little animals make a big difference to your life

We have a black and white girl that we call Panda when she sees you with food or you're not cutting her snacks fast enough of course they chatter but she will pick up things in a cage and throw them to let you know she's upset with mono very very smart I've always on them I can be an expert by now and I love listening to your videos your accident your boys are so cute and you're beautiful

The head, neck, and shoulders are the spots to aim for and the back, bottom, and sides are places to avoid 😊

My piggie Samwise, hates nail trims so much they bite the tips off their front feet. I only have to trim the back.
I've started getting to a point where my pigs let me touch them, but I'm still trying to increase my bond so I can pick them up bc I need to put them back in the cage so I can do a total clean of my room
They're sort of used to me touching their feet bc I have them put their front paws on my hand when I give them treats

My pigs live in my bedroom with me and I spend about 95% of my time in my room with them, so while they are used to many strange noises, there is one that my one guinea pigs hates. Sometimes when playing certain videos on here, some videos are louder than others. Now if you like to watch movies and have a surround sound. Just beware if the movie has any gunshot in it. My one pig starts wheeking at me every time a sounds is too loud, so I always have to listen to everything on low, but again some youtube videos are real quiet and you have to turn the volume way up just to hear, and than the next video that comes on will be too loud and my pigs sure let me know it. They'll start Wheek Wheek Wheek at me

I am a new Guinea Pig Mummuy and I absolutely adore them! I wondered if you have any advice, 1 of my guinea pigs is very friendly and loves strokes/cuddles but the other 1 is quite scared of us and I think he even attempted to nip me, is there any advice you would give to help tame him a tad x
Talk to him. I'm not kidding. Sit by their cage, feed them hay, and talk to him. He'll learn to associate your voice with food. Your other pig can help too, if they have a 'monkey see, monkey do' relationship, If one pig does something and doesn't get hurt, the other one will do the same.
It can take years to build up their trust. I've been working with Kaylee for three years and I can count on one hand the number of times I've picked her up without a struggle.
Also don't hold your fingers like you're feeding them food. More likely than not he nips you because he thinks you're trying to feed him. This is also a problem with Kaylee. (I wonder if they're related lol)

My boys do this too. My two who dislike each other the most did this recently when extremely bad weather came through... squeak squeak squeak. Their mouth and nose area is just too damn cute. They can't even help to not look like toys. Sometimes they fall asleep on me but im scared of rolling over on them

Hello. I'm an owner of two guinea pigs of 3 months. And I can not find the right bedding because they pee so much that everything becomes wet in one day. I watch youtubers talking about cleaning up once a week for me it's once a day because it's just wet. Can I please get some advice because I tryed and I'm confused

My Guinea pigs love to lay in their pee. I feel like I’m always washing them, even though I clean their cage like every 3 days. And it’s a big 2x6 CandC cage for 2 pigs! Lol does anyone relate or have tips ?
If your piggie lays in his own pee then you should clean their cage every day and check in the morning and evening if their cage is clean and dry. Cleaning every 3 days is not enough.
What can I use for nataural bedding also what fleece liners can i get that are cheap or is there a way to do diy fleece liners ty you helped me alot my mom said i can get 2 piggies for Christmas and im excited
For a natural look you can use aspen or kiln dried pine shavings. I recommend checking out a youtuber called @Little Adventures and for the fleece liners there are many videos on how to make them but many people really like @The Tiny Herd tutorial :)
I went to the pet store for a hamster about 5 days ago and they convinced me to buy a Guinea instead. They convinced me to buy a Guinea pig because I bought a 29x19 inch Guinea pig cage because I wanted a big cage for a hamster. But the hamsters would’ve escaped because the wire was too wide in spacing. They said that cage would be perfect for one Guinea pig. They said they had a Guinea pig that was alone because he doesn’t get along with any other Guinea pigs. So I took him home and started watching your videos. Now I’m looking into buying 2x4 foot cage. My question is: do you recommend me trying to pair him with another Guinea pig? He’s friendly with me but still scared for good reason. I’m nervous about introducing another pig.
Hey there, your story is all too common for people in pet shops and I'm sorry you've been mislead! :( It's likely he was fighting with the group of males he was with and that's why they separated him. Chances are he will still get along with another smaller (baby) male, and I would consider looking to see if you can adopt one or buy where you may return if your boy was too aggressive. A lot of guinea pig rescues run a "piggie dating" service which might be useful to see if he can be matched with another. The bigger cage will of course be needed. I'd recommend looking for piggie bonding/introduction videos and getting familar with the behaviour - a lot of it looks cruel and like bullying to us but unless they actually fight then in most cases they will settle down once the initial phase is over.
If your scared or worried about bonding then go to a rescue, they will help to match up a Piggie partner for your Piggie, also sounds like the Pet store have no idea on looking after Guinea Pigs, I would also ask the rescue or an exotic vet to tell you if you have a boy or girl because the Pet shop might not know how to tell the genders
The rescue will also help advise you on enrichment and diet

Kavee cages is mainly good at the cages while the other channels give you more indepth information

Do you leave your bowl of nuggets out all day? As I'm a bit unsure if it's safe to do so. As I have 2 baby 3 month male piggies. And how much would you recommend I use the burgess excel.
For growing pigs it is fine to leave out the pellets and just top up when you notice it's empty :) I do tend to do that with my adults too, though some people choose to limit them if it seems like they are eating pellets over hay. Having a good quality hay is the most important thing in their diet 😊

I have 3 boys Ron harry and nut meh but the harry keeps picking on Ron so bad that he speaks every time he goes near him he chases him non stop steals his house and some times his food he's petrified of him they have a big enough cage and some times even nutmeg joins in

Ouch! I think ears are good at healing but I would keep an eye on it for any signs of infection. If your piggies are fighting and it;s not just a one-off you may need to separate them though.

My guinea pigs sleep in there liter tray eww I clean there cage everyday but change there fleece 2 times a week and spot clean everyday
