- In today's video we're having a look at the recently released Casio G-shock GBD-200 in al its three colours. Trully a fantastic watch for the money. The GBD-200 features a new square design in comparison to its predecessor making it a more compact and more wearable watch. GBD200 in blue is the one I have, let me just say…best and most comfortable g shock I’ve owned! Slim but has enough protection. Most compliments but it’s just a good watch overall
I just bought that watch and I have to tell my negative opinion of it, so people know before buying. So the main reason I bought it is because I need a watch that I don't have to charge and that I can connect to my phone so that it vibrates while I have an incoming phone call. Watching a lot of review videos of it, everyone mentioned the notifications that you can turn them all on/off, that you can turn the vibration and sound on/off. And that is ok. But no one mentioned that the vibration during a call is one very short vibration at the start of the call and THAT IS IT. There is no way you will feel it when you are in a condition where it is noisy. I thought the vibration will be continuous while my phone is ringing. No. Also the beep sound is one short beep at the start and that is it. So for me it is useless in that aspect. If there is a possibility to get a software update where they can change the duration of the vibration and maybe intensity, then I would be happy with it.

The blue one has to be seen in person for sure! I really didn't expect to like it that much.
I’ve got the black coming in the post, I’ll always always buy black G’s because they never get boring and go with and outfit, sports, casual, formal, having said that I do really like the colour of the blue now I’ve seen it in your vid.

You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed watching it. I like that Casio didn't go the full smartwatch route with this one. If I end up getting it I'll probably connect it to my phone only when I do sports.

The only defect I felt was lack of 1/10 or 1/100 second precision in stopwatch. I understand they use 1Hz display. But they could have easily implemented it without actually displaying it in live but display once it is paused.

I bought this watch for myself yesterday! The only 2 drawbacks I can find are
1) No support for hourly chime :(
2) Stopwatch counts in 1 sec.
Other than that its a stunner

Lime if you are an extrovert and really love going to gym and your job is doesnt demand you to be formal.
Blue if you want to wear it casually on daily basis.

yeah... i want all three for the exact reasons you said. a white one that doesn't stain would be nice too!
Agree! Unfortunately, all the white ones get some sort of discoloration fairly quickly.
i dont mind the lack of solar powered tech. because the battery lasted 2 years with 12 hour gps / bluetooh turned on. besides, if u want solar powered, go for gbd h1000 which costs much higher than gbd 200
After the last G-Shock video I can't look at any other G-Shock the same. lol

I just got the Yellow/green one. Awesome, but aside from the hour im still trying to understand how it works
Since it has the Bluetooth connectivity they can skip the radio control, but not doing the tough solar is a huge miss, in my opinion
We share the same opinion.
My main issue with having to change the battery is that the water resistance can be compromised by opening the case back. This can happen if it’s done correctly. Some folks may not care about that.

It was a hard decision between this one and the gbx100. I went with the gbx. I love it, but a part of me still thinking I should have got the Gbd200. As much as I love the gbx100, I'm just worried about getting the stainless steel bezel scratched up. Not the case with the Gbd200. They're both amazing, but hard to pick one over the other

The ga-2110 and the black gbd200? I gave the ga-2110 to a friend but I'll probably get one again soon. As for the gbd200, the red model which was released a months ago is one I'm really looking forward to getting.

Hi, thank you. Unfortunately, it can't track heart rhythm. The gbd-h2000 has just been released. It has great fitness and health features. It's more expensive but I definitely recommend it. I'll post a review of it in a few days.

If watch is smartphone connected, it will/can syncro time. However, solar panel would be sweet here... Then batt could be 5-10 yrs long or so...
I had a Galaxy watch I needed to charge every 2 - 3 days. Granted it was the older Gear S3 model but that's why I went back to regular watches. I picked one of these up after going through a few other traditional analog watches.
I know what you mean. I got a Samsung Watch 5 for my birthday last month and while I enjoy having all those features on my wrist I hate charging it every other day. Now I'm really looking forward to this new model G-SQUAD DW-H5600.
@@TheBoldHairspring Yeah it's always the charging. As far as the new H5600, I don't know. I really like the GBD200's resin pushers. I have and had several 5600's and I am not keen to go back to the small metal buttons. But we'll see.

I believe it is but I don't have the watch to confirm it 100%. I think you simply turn off the automatic Bluetooth connectivity. Everything else should remain active.

Notifications are very accurate
You can read text messages and instagram messages
But you cant read facebook messages(you’ll get notification that u have a new message

Does it store music locally? That's the feature that I wish most, if not all smartwatches would have.
Hi, no it doesn't. It doesn't have internal memory. In fact, I believe you can't even control your phone music player.
How are the button compared to the 5600 ? I find button on 5600 a bit small
These are bigger and much easier to operate.
Question: can you set DD/MM date format on the GBD200 or the GAB2100? Mixed answers on Google.

I bought the blue model for a premium and it is worth it! Pros are the incredible display, vibration alarm, and extremely slim and lightweight. I do not use the smartwatch features - not interested although I do like how it syncs the time daily to my phone. I do like the the app for setting alarms - very easy. My only con is that the stopwatch doesn't have 100ths or even 10ths of seconds. Maybe firmware updates in the future can fix this on the MIP display. I also don't mind changing watch batteries - solar is great but not really necessary to me. Since I've gotten this watch, it's my one and only daily.
Agree with everything you said. It's a nice modern sports G-Shock that serves really well as a daily driver.

@@TheBoldHairspring The two year is when you shut down every "smart" feature. But work one year as far as i know if you use the "smart" features. What do you know about this?
@@abytusabytus340 you're pretty much correct. According to Casio If you use Bluetooth connection all the time and you track an hour of fitness activity per day then the battery will last approximately one year.
I just got mine!! Blue version. Great watch. But i want to ask. When i look the display. The number on display look brighter and then not brighter. It happen every second. It’s normal???

The only color you're missing here is the white one. I Believe all 4 colors look outstanding for this particular watch model. All 4 watches wouldv cost about $675 after tax+shipping.

Hi, yes it does. You can connect it to the g-shock move app for tracking basic fitness data.
@@TheBoldHairspring hi what about accuracy and one more thing do this watch track steps as a usual fitness band or we have to activate tracking mode everytime we wnt to track steps?
@@BulletwalaLadka I can't really speak of the accuracy as I didn't test it. The step tracker is constantly working, so need to activate it.
Should I go for this or the GX 56 BB?
Hi! They're very different. Personally I'd go for the gxw-56 simply because I don't need tracking features. The gxw-56 besides solar it's also radio controlled (multiband 6). However, if you need the smart and fitness tracking features then the gbd-200 might be the better choice for you.

Hi, if you close it back carefully and put everything back in its place it shouldn't lose the WR.
If this would be solar powered, it would be the perfect digital watch for me.
A solar version of this one would be absolutely amazing.
@@TheBoldHairspring it's not viable to have a solar powered one that has the vibrational alarm. It would need to be rechargeable like a smartwatch.
I will wait for GBD 200 without BT.. Just solar with better battery...
Does the auto light feature have to be turned on everyfew hours???
To be honest I don't know but since it's not solar I guess you have to turn it on everyday.

I was waiting to get one of these on sale...that's not really happening so I found a blue for about 10 euros off (110) from First Class watches in England that would ship for free to Canada....which was allot cheaper then 150ish Euros it costs in Canada. And you can't even seem to be able to buy the blue or yellow versions here anymore.
I was digging the yellow for the longest time but I think you're right and went with the blue one. The yellow is cool but its just to loud. 😅 I have the blue version of the gbx100 but there's just to many features on the watch that I find difficult to navigate verses a normal gshock or protrek. Plus the lag when you want to get out of the fitness app is terrible. I think I'll give that watch to my niece if she likes it.
Also I love the red color on the light button. I wear a watch to bed and any feature that makes it easier to find the black light is a bonus. I really hope to see casio add solar to this display type in the future.
Hi Logan, 150 euro is a very good deal. The gbx 100 is cool though. I like its metal bezel.
I think another reason for getting the blue or the black instead of the yellow is that they'd look like new for a long time. I mean, the yellow would probably get dirty quickly.
@@TheBoldHairspring Yeah I like the gbx 100 but not as much as the GBD-200 when it comes to style. I wanted the GBD-200 in the first place but gshock Canada was selling the gbx for around 75 euros so i couldn't pass it up cause I had to try out that dis[lay. It didn't disappoint but I find the gbx to be a bit bland. I like to see some color on my watches. It ended up with me wanting the GBD-200 even more in the end .😅
And here I am buying battery quartz watches after I swore them off for solar ones cause I'm getting tired of the cost of getting the jewler to chg the batteries in all my Gshocks. 😅 I know the Casioaks ended up getting solar versions but I somehow doubt that's going to happen here. If it does though I'll probably ended up selling off my precious solar powered 5600. I love that watch but the pushers on it where not meant for fat fingered people like me.😅 I might keep the gbx but if my niece likes it I have no problem giving it a new home this summer with her.
If they make a solar version of the gbd 200 they'll hit it out of the ballpark 🤞🏻. Just give it to your niece and get yourself the gbd 200. Looks like you've made the decision already 😂.

I got the Garmin watch with solar it was rubbish the solar only kept the battery going for two weeks.
I was in the sun for hours each day. Sold it.

I wish casio release a separate heart sensor accessory with it's own battery.
this way the watch can go as long a 3 to 4 yrs while you only need to charge the heart sensor.
I really hate the trend watch getting into fitness wearables. it's a bullshit trend.
casio should start reversing the trend of these bullshit trend that causes E-waste.
coz let's all be honest, most if not all of these people buying fitness wearable will either get tired of their goals and just use these product as their daily timepiece. some of them will just toss it away or resell them.

I bought the yellow version just because it reminds me of the search and resque teams and industrial machines colour. The only one watch that is noticied by non watch people among much more expensive of my watches.

Casio should catch up with a solar GPS watch for running.
They already have a couple of solar models with gps for running. The gbd-1000 is one of them.
How about battery...how long they last ....
2 years if you don't use the Bluetooth and fitness tracking features much. If you use the Bluetooth all the time and use the fitness tracking for an hour a day then the battery life will be reduced to approximately 1 year.
They need to add solar to this design, else it's pointless to keep changing batteries

@@zxtrenixx yeah sure. When the watch is connected to the g-shock app on your phone you can receive phone calls and message alerts directly on the watch.

I'm sure you already know that but just in case. You have to download the G-Shock move app and then follow the on screen instructions. What kind of problem are you experiencing exactly?
