I think it's pretty interesting to see people's fleets. It tells a lot about their preferences and playstyles. As you can see, i'm not much into PvP, but i can stand my ground. Had to defend myself several times in my C2 and the hostiles (players, not only NPCs) sometimes gave up and left after fighting for a while without doing damage. I'm never the one who starts a fight, but the next ship on the list will probably be a fighter or bomber. My fleet: - Aurora MR (game package, only used to get back to other ships after dying) - 400i LTI (the flying home i don't want to loose) - Cutter Scout LTI (for small daily tasks, maybe later for CCU chains) - Vulture - C2 - 890J - PTV - STV - ROC - Cyclone RC - Spartan - Centurion - Mule
I think this shines a light on a big problem in this community; Everyone wants to play Fleet Admiral, nobody wants to play crew. Im sitting on 4 ships thinking "how can I downsize"
I actually just did that. Axed my big crew dependent ships, reacquired via buybacks some older smaller ones. 890, Hammerhead, both gone and they got me everything else I needed or wanted for my little fleet. I don't even want to deal with NPCs; if I can't manage the ship on my own or with these AI computer modules they mentioned, it's not for me.
This is a great conversation too, I've been doing some dual boxing, and don't mind keeping them if I start an org with the channel community, they should be fun to have :) but I wanna make a video about the larger ships soon!
@@Two_Names -- I think that's not the BEST thinking. Some ships are probably best with AI crew, like a Liberator for basic maintenance (like replacing fuses and stuff). Big ship, needs like 1-2 AI crew, would be very useful for a ship like that. but no, your not 23+AI crew for a Javelin and surviving against a fully crew manned Polaris.
@@Larzousi don't think you will require a crew at all, as long as you don't get attacked. Just flying around should never need more than the pilot. But if you encounter pirates and have to care for failing components, spreading fires and manning turrets... then you're pretty much fucked without crew. Of course you could also need someone to operate a scanning station for example, if you don't want to get up and go to the console yourself. But we'll see what CIG will do. They for sure will make sure you still have reasons to throw all your money on those really expensive capital ships. ;) I'd prefer AI blades for operating unmanned turrets and do everything else myself. Don't want NPCs in my ships. They probably want to get paid and fed and cared for too (for immersion). 400i will for sure be perfect for solo gameplay when having those AI blades installed. Strong shields, armor, redundant power plants and coolers in climate controlled rooms to stop fires spreading. Just fly away while the turrets care for following hostiles. Set cruise control and care for damaged systems at the same time. Should not be a problem.
found your channel about a week ago and subbed instantly i love the commentary and content. it’s always more succinct and less speculative than other channels
Proud Zeus MR owner here! RSI ships are making a big comeback here in the next year or so! Cant wait for the Galaxy because it will be the Carrack killer. Keep on keeping on bud!
Great idea im glad you did your fleet, its a big deal for me when i befriend experienced players to find out what their essential fleet is (including only in game m,echanics, and in game ships). I made a comment in your exploration ships video hoping for this; best video yet brother!
I allways check the Dollar to UEC ratio, therefore ground vehicles are neglectable. To obtain 50 - 200k UECs is easy done in 1hr. Profession ships are usually more expensive and the one person salvage and mining ships are a solid no pew-pew choice.1 or 2 fighters, depends on your prefs, supportships/fleetfightrs...some haulers.. low to midgrade and for the rest the lower end big boats, idris, perseus, nautilus, polaris, merchantman, galaxy, carrack, odyssey and reclaimer.. no Javellin and no orion
1. If I can’t see myself ever using a ship, I lose it. So I have upgraded my ships in the starter packs to something I use. 2. Ships will be always constantly get nerfed and buffed . If there is a game loop you like and can afford it, get redundancy. I like combat so I have two light fighters … Arrow and Fury and two medium fighters Ghost and Sabre. 2. If there is a game loop you like and can afford it scalability might also be considered. I like combat and medical. So I have a C8R for small jobs, and an Apollo for larger jobs. I might get a Galaxy and then lose the Apollo. So I think it’s good to have overlap and scalability. Some people assume they will always find players to fill out their crew. I like to scale from solo play to a handful of people. I want to avoid having hanger queens that just collect dust and are never used. The largest ship I have is a Liberator. My favorite combat ship is an Arrow or Gladiator for PVE. My daily is a 600i. For simple box mission a 125.
Thx for this. I appreciate your thoughts on all SC topics but its nice to see where you put your own hard earned money into. It adds a bit more credence to it, not that you needed to, but still, its nice!
Great video, I’m the same when it comes to discussing the game and especially ships. Only ship I’d mention taking another look at is the Perseus compared to the Hammerhead. The s7 guns, lower crew requirements and otherwise similar amenities just made the Perseus my favorite of the two.
MSR, F8C, Constellation Andromeda and Vanguard Warden have been my most played. I’ve got them all with LTI so I see them as low risk. MSR was the surprise to me, I’ve been using it to clear out salvage cargo and it’s served me well. I’m really looking forward to the C1 now that it’s cargo is larger than originally planned, I’ve got a CCU but I’ll be buying it in game to compare it to the Zeus CL eventually. Also really looking forward to to the Polaris as it’ll be my mobile home (more so than the MSR is). I’ll also be buying a Galaxy in game before applying it’s CCU. I really enjoy the carrack and I don’t know if having it and the Galaxy will be redundant.
I also love these videos. Gives me good ideas for possible fleet changes on mine. 600i and C2 are my biggest ships i own and I cant justify anything larger without some NPC gameplay. I really wish there would be a medium salvage ship or another salvage ship that isn't the Vulture lmao.
You have a nice diverse fleet for a lot of gameplay loops, similar to mine. A little side note on the Avenger, it was originally a smaller ship with a crawl space between the cockpit and the cargo bay, and the original concept art had that little ship sporting a size 5(!) gun on the nose, to make it the Star Citizen version of the A-10 Warthog. I had a Mule that I only used for duping, but got rid of it when they fixed that loophole😂
I'm planning to have a lite and medium freighter (Avenger, Cutter, Cutlass, C1Spirit, etc...) at each major station, possibly a medium or heavy fighter (Hornet/loan, Lightning, etc...) also at those locations (most fighters at "MIC-L1"), plus various craft (Pisces, 85X, etc...) to be shuttles between those stations and surface and my remaining craft (ARGO-Cargo, Dragonfly, Merlin, Hover-quad, etc...) will be for specific jobs or fun fly around stations, while the majority of ground vehicles will be at Microtech, some will be accessed at various outposts for touring around. ;-)
My personal choices this year are the 315-P, Nomad, Khartu-Al, Anvil Hawk, and They're all cozy and get my small jobs done efficiently Ground vehicles are Aopa Nox and patiently waiting for the X1.
At this stage of the game so to speak lol it's about making sure you don't have hangar queens or ships that overlap roles so you don't waste your money, any other ships you can always buy in game
dope fleet man! what i think about when making my fleet is which single ship am i gonna pull out for certain occasions like a trading cards, trading them in and out with my self, and usually only end up with like 3-7 ships usually all medium or larger
